5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Awesome CPU. Works really good. Never had any issues with AMD since I started using AMD in 2005.
GOOD value!

Cons: The CPU cooler could have been bigger! But it still works great for the CPU.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's 2 years later and this is still amazing

Pros: This, for the money, is the best processor I found. I didn't overclock it, I just put it in as is. It chugged along, able to handle everything I threw at it, and it's still kicking. It's actually about to turn into my server box's CPU.

Cons: none

4 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Fast, stable over clocking, seems pretty solid, price

Cons: None that I can think of

Other Thoughts: This is an awesome hid-highend cpu at a great price. I haven't had any problems OCing to 3.8GHZ, would try for 4 if I had a better cooler. I don't know how it stacks up against intel, and if I wasn't already invested in an AMD motherboard I probably would have switched over. Intel seems to have better performance in this price range. But for video encoding and gaming, I have no complaints. Going on a year with this CPU and all is good

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU

Pros: A lot of power for the price I paid. I've had it over two years and have had not a single issue with it. I've played quite a few games with the settings and resolution cranked up and I can honestly say I can't remember this ever being the bottleneck one time against my DDR3, GTX 460, GTX 670, or my HDD for gaming. When I use it to encode MP4 out of DVD, it does it flawlessly. I can even still get on FB and watch videos, etc. without it showing any significant signs of getting bogged down WHILE ENCODING VIDEO. Even if I run this CPU at 70% clock, it still monster trucks through every thing. If I'm not gaming/encoding video, when I put my hand behind my case, there is practically no more heat than the ambient air.

Cons: The fan can get a bit loud and if you don't have a decently laid out case, it will warm up a lot. It does have a 'thermal design power' of 125watts, but I don't care about that since I'm not trying to save a whopping several dollars a year.

Other Thoughts: Performance/cost ratio for AMD is much higher than Intel in this range. While Intel may be ahead in 'clock for clock' or 'single thread performance', in a practical application of any type of significant load AMD is just as good and actually often beats Intel under heavy workload multitasking applications dollar for dollar.

I built the PC this is in with a GTX 460. I've since replaced that with GTX 670 after 16 months. Now nine months later the 670 has died, I've put the 460 back in and am waiting on RMA from Zotac who's customer service is terrible. I've had good luck with this CPU. I think I'll buy an AMD GPU next time.

5 out of 5 eggsSmooth and Stable

Pros: I've owned this for 2 years now and never had a problem. A lot of the software I got with the motherboard made it really easy to overclock when I wanted, but I've never had the need. Plays any video game or software I want beautifully.

1 out of 5 eggsworked at first......

Pros: everything was super fast and pretty with this cpu for a little over a year.

Cons: now im getting bsods after i play games for anywhere from 10 to 70 minutes. i ran coretemp while i was playing an old non-intense graphics game: half-life 1 and found that after 15 min playing, my temps went up from 37c to 75c before i stopped the game. i am sadly disappointed with this processor as i have now spent months trying fix this issue only to now come to accept that this processor needs to be replaced. whether or not amd is kind enough to provide warranty support is something i need to look into.

Other Thoughts: i really would prefer to not have to spend even more money on having a professional look at my computer.

5 out of 5 eggsSafely Clocked at 3.6 Ghz 2+ Years

Pros: Overclocks well if you know what you're doing. Overclocked at 3.6 from the get-go and have never had any problems (even with original heatsink) Great for gaming if you've got other equally matched ram/graphic's specs to match!

Cons: Heats up quick when overclocked and pushed w/ original heatsink.

Other Thoughts: Get an aftermarket cooler if you want a stable 4.0 Ghz overclock.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Good but not great

Pros: When purchased I thought it was a little slower than the comparable Intel processors but for the cost it has been worth every penny. My family uses it for standard word processing and I use it to do some video editing. It does the job. Currently looking for a new processor to have a dedicated video editing machine. Would purchase again.

Cons: no cons
