5 out of 5 eggsA great CPU that held on longer than I ever thought it would

Pros: Amazingly fast (for the time)

Cons: The stock cooler was loud as hell.

Other Thoughts: After many years with this tired old beast the time has finally come to upgrade. Funny thing though, it didn't really show it's age til not terribly long ago. I mean, it was never a top of the line CPU to begin with, but it ran every thing I could possibly throw at it and then some.

5 out of 5 eggsFirst processor in my first computer build.

Pros: I've had this for 6 years now in my first desktop builld. It has been reliable and totally blew away my expectations. Now I have to upgrade and just wanted to say that it has been a pleasure gaming with this cpu. The only game that has given it any problem is Fallout 4. I can't complain. It gave me awesome gaming for 6 years. Never overclocked and using stock heatsink. Never had any temperature issues. It will be moved to a home theater pc build soon.

Cons: None. Handled everything I threw at it.

5 out of 5 eggsWas an absolute beast at the price point!

Pros: -Reliable workhorse
-Extremely powerful for the price

Cons: -Runs a bit hot (can be solved with aftermarket cooling)
-Uses power liberally (can be somewhat mitigated by using a high wattage PSU and hitting the peak efficiency, instead of a lower wattage PSU that is running full bore)

Other Thoughts: I used this chip in several builds back in 2012, all of which are outperforming the "next-gen" consoles. Still playing games on high settings with no problems. This chip was $99 when I picked them up, and was bar none the best power per dollar option then. With aftermarket cooling solutions (Cooler Master H80i,) I am running a modest OC of 10% (3.74 GhZ,) and I have stress tested this with Prime 95 on all rigs. 100% stability, even after 4 hour tests. I hope to see this kind of computing value again in the near future. One of the best consumer chips of it's time in my opinion.

5 out of 5 eggs6 years now

Pros: Had this Cpu since 2010! Still running strong on stock cooler. Was used for mild gaming and now I'm looking to upgrade. Best cpu I've ever had the pleasure to work with, longevity and performance wise. I was going to try to hold out for AMDs new Zen cores but I feel like the release date keeps getting pushed back and they might not ever get released....

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Been a pleasure AMD.

5 out of 5 eggsWorked well, worked hard.

Pros: Fast for its time, got it towards the end of its shelf life in 2012, have since upgraded to an FX8300. Single core performance is essentially the same. Multi-core performance is somewhat better.

Cons: loved to suck power and pump heat.

Other Thoughts: I am considering using this chip in an old mobo, underclock it, and throw it in a small build for an emulation/streaming box. AMD struck gold with these and has since not improved their single core performance much.

5 out of 5 eggsStill Tearing it up!

Pros: I have had this processor since late 2012 and it has been a solid gaming performer the whole time. Still is the CPU on my gaming rig. I have this on an ASUS board and have had no trouble with this setup. Really a great processor.

Cons: I have nothing bad or on the downside to say about this processor. It has ran very well.

Other Thoughts: AMD processors are lower in cost than other processors but get the job done.

5 out of 5 eggsThanks!

Pros: Just wanted to thank the people at AMD for this amazing little CPU. It's been cheap, reliable, and only recently shown it's age while trying to keep up with Fallout 4. They really hit a home run with this one. And now it's time is over, and I just wanted to say thanks!

Cons: Nothing gold can stay.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Seems like better performance then the A4, A6, A8 series AMD processors.

Cons: I had some timing issues with my motherboard, memory and this processor.

Other Thoughts: I had some timing issues with my motherboard, memory and this processor that I didn't have with another Phenom II X4 processor, but once I worked that out it was ok. I put it in another system and had same issue that I didn't have with another Phenom II X4. Since I've only used on of this particular model processor, I couldn't say if it was the individual processor or the model in general.

5 out of 5 eggsNO issues

Pros: I wanted something much better than what can in my cheap tower. This was it. A noticeable difference in how the computer ran.
Not a big gamer, however it has no issues running starcraft 2.

Cons: Can't really think of any.
