5 out of 5 eggsNice Dual Core

Pros: Cheap, picked it up for 58 bucks.
Dual core / low power consumption.

Cons: ?

Other Thoughts: My pc was long overdue for a rebuild. This chip replaced a socket A sempron @ 1.7 ghz. Vista is actually responsive. Next on my list, OEM copy of windows 7.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU

Pros: This was purchased to do a budget build. Specifically, no gaming, but heavy websurfing and photo editing. Some light office work. This met the needs. The included install instructions were a good reminder. As this build would not be overclocked, the stock heatsink and fan work very well.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Works fine in a GIGABYTE GA-MA785GM-US2H AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 785G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard with an Antec Earthwatts 380w power supply.

5 out of 5 eggsFor the money and an upgrade

Pros: I got this processor because I upgraded my motherboard and the board wouldnt accept the AMD phenom 2 x4 AM2+ so this was a cheap alt and it makes my system run much faster, if you have a chance to get this one get it, and make sure you get the right board as well.

Cons: I bought this from a local computer store and paid about 40$ above what Newegg is wanting, wish I had gone with new egg, only con there.

Other Thoughts: this is my new system

AMD athlon II x2 245 pro OCd to 3.48GHz
4 gig OCZ pc 12800 ram, 4 gigs are going to get ordered her soon after I get running in 64 bit
MSI 770-g45 motherboard
sapphire Radeon HD 4850 GDDR3 vapor-x(I plan on buying another one of these from newegg so I can use the crossfire on the board)

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I've purchased quite a few of these for cheap workstations / friends on a tight budget / even personal use. They perform quite well for the money.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: The more adventurous type may want to pick up a different processor and try unlocking a core or two.

5 out of 5 eggsThis little Athlon II is abit to strong why won't it kill intels medium range lineup ?

Pros: I bought this CPU for my mother and a new MSI K9N6PGM2-V2 mobo.
A lightning storm knocked out her old LGA 775 celeron D 352 system I built last august, it wasn't very fast, and every month her old system kept getting slower and non responsive.
I showed her this Athlon II and told her I would buy her this and some other new parts for under 200.00.

It doesn't quite out match my Athlon II X3 system but it does a great job with simple tasks which is office suites running, microsoft security essentials corel paint shop pro and windows 7 ultimate, plus F@H SMP and GPU clients.

Cons: It won't annihalate intel's upper last 2009 core2duo series.
Other than that no bad cons.

Other Thoughts: If you buy this cpu a AM3 ready mobo and good DDR2 or DDR3 ram at 4gb's for under 200.00 you could upgrade that stupid dell that sits in the closet begging for a upgrade... ;)

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Built a system around this chip for my father-in-law. Coming from a P4 3.0ghz 800fsb there is a huge difference in performance as expected. Fast excellent chip for the net surfing and photo editing he does. Paired with a Gigabyte MB using DDR2 800.

Cons: None for this application.

Other Thoughts: Would have preferred a 4 core and DDR3 capable MB myself but he wouldn't go the extra few dollars!

5 out of 5 eggsWOO these things are crazy!

Pros: Only took 2 days to get here from clicking the order button. :) I waited on the front porch as soon as the tracking number said "Out For Delivery". UPS guy was fun to talk to too. As soon as I got it, I replaced my 4800+ and WOW. Huge difference. Instantly I started overclocking just to see how it would do. 3.6ghz completely stable with stock HS/Fan. 45c after 3 hours of prime. Simply amazing. Programs open before I even click them, and I can finally use the full power of my video card.

Cons: Unlike most of you, this DOES do my laundry, get my paper, and make me coffee.

Other Thoughts: Love it. :)
Now I just need an AM3 mobo and ddr3 ram.

5 out of 5 eggsBudget/Office Build

Pros: Processor was used for a budget office computer to perform simple financial tasks and does it well. For what it's used for, I have no complaints. The new rig is significantly faster than the old one.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: The old comp. was a celeron with 1 gig DDR so this AM3 X2 is ridiculously fast in comparison. Programs actually open in a reasonable amount of time now.
