I am not an overclocker but I was looking for an excellent value for the family PC. A PC for school work, internet browsing and light-duty gaming. This CPU really fit the bill. OC'd from stock 3.0 to 3.75ghz with Big Shrukin Rev. B fan, in a tiny Apevia MicroDesktop case. Never seen temps above 40C. For it's size and rating, the AMD AM3 Regor 250 3.0ghz CPU is dollar for dollar, a great investment. Don't go high end gaming or space shuttle launching, but for basic office, email, internet, it's all you'll need for the forseable future. Cons: Absolutely none. Other Thoughts: Price point is great. No, its not a phenom, but it performs very well nonetheless, I was surprised at how well it performs, runs cool, and does everything its supposed to. Cons: Is AMD getting cheap these days? seems like the heatsinks keep getting smaller and smaller with every new AMD CPU I order. I guess its not really a con, because it keeps it plenty cool (well within specs) Can't comment on the thermal paste applied, it seemed a little thick, but I dont know as I cleaned it off and applied Arctic silver 5 (always do on any build, I want to know that its going to run cool enough) Other Thoughts: Good CPU. I've got it running in the PC I recently built for gaming, and it's running Starcraft II and all my other normal computer stuff fine and at nice speeds. Cons: that thermal compound is like glue! didn't know that haha. thankfully, I put it on right the first time. Once it's on there, you can slide it around a bit to line things up, but I didn't feel safe pulling it completely off... would probably give a worse seal so I don't recommend that. not really a con, but whatever.
