Fast, cheap, L3 cache, can be overclocked to 3.5 with mult and volt increases. 50/50 chance of unlocking all cores.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Budget Enthusiast Processor

Pros: Unlocked multiplier is great. Can get 3.0 stable at 1.325. But more than that, using the AMD Overdrive, I set up a profile to radically underclock the PC when I need it in standby/download mode. I can reduce the multiplier to minimum 5x (1 Ghz) and drop the voltage stable down to 0.825.

Cons: Hardly any cons. Make sure to get a motherboard that supports 1066 DDR2. Also invest in a good motherboard for the overclocking (and in my case, underclocking). Doesn't have to break the bank, but you'll thank yourself for spending a little bit more.

Other Thoughts: This is really a con of my motherboard, and not the processor. Make sure to spend a little more and get a decent motherboard if you want a higher stable overclock. But for a budget build, well worth it. Make sure to get 1066 DDR2 RAM with this processor, it gets decent boost in ram performance from it over the 800 DDR2. (If you get a motherboard with a radeon Integrated Graphics, you can crossfire the IGP with your Radeon Card for a budget boost in video performance.)

5 out of 5 eggsSo far, So good

Pros: Quiet, fast, works well with 4gb ram and m3n78 mobo

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: would be nice if thermal paste was included. 6 bucks for a 1.5 oz tube is kind of a rip off

1 out of 5 eggsBios update needed

Pros: None

Cons: Need to update bios. Not stable, crashes often. First AMD processor I have been disapointed in!! Newegg as always makes returns a breeze.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat chip!!

Pros: Put this in a gigabyte board for a small office server. WOW!! That L3 cache sure helps A LOT when multi tasking.

Cons: nada

Other Thoughts: Would definitely buy again, but at the price/performance right now think I'd buy a Phenom II for a few bucks more for the 6MB L3 and higher FSB.

5 out of 5 eggscheap entry level cpu

Pros: Price, performance, warranty. Built the little brother a small gaming machine with this processor. For a small budget, this processor is the way to go.

Cons: Retail fans did not cool this processor well in my small antec case. UPS damaged the cpu even in the retail package. Way to drop the ball UPS. Newegg recovered the fumble though with great customer service though.

Other Thoughts: Buy an aftermarket CPU cooler.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Budget chip

Pros: Super chip for a budget system. It runs like a champ at 3ghz on my board.

Cons: I have an SB600 board so I got stopped at 3ghz at stock voltage.

Other Thoughts: I run this chip and the deneb 940 on MSI K9A2 platinum V1 MBs

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Normally

Pros: Work as it says. Worked Immediately. Seems to run cool on stock heatsink/fan @ 23C. at 1.325V.

Cons: None, really.

Other Thoughts: Since this is a Black Edition, I raised the multiplier from x14 to x15 = @3.01GHz. Any higher, and it wouldn't boot. Although I've tried messing with voltage a little, I couldn't get it to go any higher. This is on a Gigabyte board with a 780G chipset. I didn't try very hard, though, because I'm not very experienced at O.C.ing, and I want to be careful.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Price/performance

Pros: 65nm, and a 2mb l3 is pretty decent. This thing is fast but that's coming from the 5000+ i was using. the low 95 wattage keeps it cooler but still you're gonna need a aftermarket cooler for this thing. i managed to get it to 3.4ghz.
there is a chance of unlocking all the cores but i wouldn't recommend it

Cons: I dont know if its me but this cpu doesn't have an unlocked multiplier. i can still over clock it just not manually like i want to.

Other Thoughts: a mix of software and bios tools can help you OC this. buy a Zalman trust me it will go a long way
