The Comet from Sunbeamtech is a modular power supply that allows for easy management of cables by only installing the ones that you need, which will ensure that your cables looks neat and the air flows more freely inside the case. The one unique aesthetic appeal that the Comet has is the LED lighted modular cable sockets, which looks awesome when used in computer cases with see through side panel or acrylic case. The Comet is cooled with a 140mm LED fan (with adjustable LED on/off). When it comes to appeal and performance, high performing Comet is a must in your next tricked out gaming rig!

  • newegg Modular Cable Management The modular cables that reduce air friction help maximize airflow through the PC case. The modular design also simplifies installation as it allows unprecedented flexibility in using only those cables which are needed.
  • newegg 140mm Silent Blue LED Fan The auto fan control on the 140mm blue LED fan guarantees thermal performance as well as silent operation, while offering lighting effect. The LED can be turned off via an on/off switch.

2 out of 5 eggsAvoid like the plague!

Pros: Well it was cheap and it lasted 2 years at least!

Cons: After two years it started to cut off after running for a short while. After cleaning it appeared to be a heating problem, Its still working but I will have to replace this thing soon..

Other Thoughts: Not worth the trouble and I won't be buying another sunbeam power supply! I did give the thing two starts for being cheap and actually working for 2 years..

1 out of 5 eggskilled motherboard

Pros: none

Cons: I ordered this when I was in Iraq. When I put it into the newly built computer it sent enough power into the board for a moment to turn the fans then quit. I hooked up a friends power supply into the system and the motherboard was dead.

Couldn't do anything about replacing the parts because of my location when I ordered the parts. Was out a lot of money because of this.

5 out of 5 eggsStill Running Good

Pros: You can turn the lights off.
Modular

Cons: Thus far none.

Other Thoughts: Purchased to replace faulty PSU in home/home-office six disk file server (RAID-5: four disk config + 1spare & a separate disk for the OS)

I am surprised to see the reviews about it being non functional. Almost 24/7 usage and not a single problem. Guess I got lucky with mine.

2 out of 5 eggs=/ Died on me

Pros: Looks nice. Works (until it doesn't anymore).

Cons: Seems cheaply made. I had it for just over 2 years, and it died on me. My system would shut off after about 30 seconds, then it would do an endless restart/shutdown loop. I thought it was the processor overheating or something to begin with, but it was this bad boy. Replaced it with a Corsair, and now everything works fine.

Other Thoughts: On a brighter note, I took the 140mm blue fan out of this guy and made a side intake fan for my case with it=)

4 out of 5 eggsGood but died

Pros: Good price and decent power for the money

Cons: Power supply died and company could not be contacted

Other Thoughts: I was very happy with the product worked well had blue leds that actually lit up the rear of case. Was still under manufacturers warrant but could not reach company for replacement. Newegg being the Great Company they are refunded the purchase price.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Forget about rebate but a good power supply

Cons: Had an advertised manufacturers $50.00 rebate. Power supply works fine.

Cons: Sent in rebate to manufacturers request on time. Waited, and waited , still waiting ....no rebate. It's been almost a full year and still no rebate.
Not fair....

Other Thoughts: Good power supply from sumbeam

3 out of 5 eggsDying...

Pros: Powered my system fine for well over a year of always-on use. Came home from a 10 day vacation to a non-working fan, but power supply was only slightly warm and computer was still running smoothly.

Cons: Purchased 9/10/10, fan started sticking sometime shortly after 2/29/12. Power supply still works fine, but I have to manually give the fan a whirl to get it going when I boot up the system.
Until I can get either a new fan or power supply, I have to leave my case open to keep an eye on it and I don't dare leave it unsupervised

Other Thoughts: I really do wish they used a better fan in this. I would expect that it would get pretty hot after even 10 minutes with no fan, but it was only a bit warm after what may have been days. The room I keep it in is pretty cool, and my case has lots of fans and good airflow, but still...

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Worked fine, while it did work. On/Off switch for the fan light was a nice add on though. So was the modular cabling.

Cons: My machine started acting up one day and randomly rebooting. At first, I thought it might be due to a heat issue but after watching the BIOS temps several times, this was not the case. After a few hours, then days, the machine would not power on at all. I tested the PSU with a PSU tester and it failed miserably. Technically, it is still covered under the one year warranty (by only 3 weeks) but it is not worth the trouble of shipping and hoping that I get one that is better. For now, I am going with SeaSonic brand that I have heard nothing but good reviews about. So long sunbeam..

2 out of 5 eggsNo Mail-In Rebate

Pros: Works.

Cons: Didn't receive rebate. I would not trust this company to honor any promotion or warranty.

Other Thoughts: Won't ever buy anything from SunBeamTech again. Their customer service is poor.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't trust the rebate!

Pros: Had an advertised manufacturers $50.00 rebate. Power supply works fine.

Cons: Sent in rebate per manufacturers request. Waited, then waited, and waited some more....no rebate. I think I can speak for most of us here if there is an irresistible deal, you buy that product. It's been almost a full year and still no rebate.

Other Thoughts: This experience has made me very disappointed with the manufacturer (Sunbeam) to the point that any Sunbeam product I see, I'll pass up, no matter the deal. It also disappoints me when I sought assistance in the matter and I was, for the most part, dismissed or forgotten. This may be because while I'm not complaining about the product in general, I just wanted my $50 rebate. That is, after all, why I purchased. If you're not going to pay out your rebates, don't advertise them!!!
One star for dissatisfaction of a rebate. Hope you can do good things with my money.
