2 out of 5 eggsStop working after 3 months.

Pros: It was a great product for the first 3 months

Cons: Now because of this, my Computer randomly powers down for no reason. I tested my rig with a friends PSU and it had no problems and when i put this PSU back in, the problem returned. This is just sad because I've always used EVGA and i don't really have the money to go out and buy a whole new PSU because of this problem. I'm looking into the EVGA SuperNOVA P2 750or 650 when i have the money.

Other Thoughts: If you want a good power supply then buy EVGA just not this one. Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsGood psu

Pros: Loved all the cables it came with.

Cons: Nothing substantial.

Other Thoughts: I didn't like how some of the cables were too short. Not so much to lose an egg over though. :D

5 out of 5 eggsReview forEVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650 G 80 PLUS GOLD 650W Active PFC ATX12V

Pros: Nice efficiency
Nice and affordable when on sale
Indestructible (see other thoughts)
Modular plugins are nicely positioned on front
plenty of power for single graphics card set -up

Cons: It preforms all jobs one needs it to do. So none

Other Thoughts: As mentioned above, this power supply is very tough. after a shipping incidence succeeded in destroying over half the components in a build, including the case which suffered severe frame damage, the only noticeable effect on the power supply was a slightly louder fan noise. after sever load tests and voltage leakage tests, it is still preforming one hundred percent.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent experience with EVGA

Pros: Running smooth and quiet with no issues. Very nice construction (feels like it is good enough to exist on its own outside of a computer case), both structurally solid and visually appealing.

Although I did RMA my first power supply because of a noisy fan, the process was probably the best I have run into. I am largely swayed to keep going back to EVGA because of my RMA experience.

Cons: Not much of a con, but having to RMA because of a noisy fan was technically a con.

However, not a single egg subtracted for this because EVGA sent an advance replacement (which arrived very fast if I recall) with a prepaid return shipping envelope! Yes! Some companies still know how to do business!

Other Thoughts: Thank you EVGA for treating your customers right! It makes this small business owner to want to buy EVGA whenever I can!

1 out of 5 eggsElectrical Buzzing

Pros: Powers on my computer.

Cons: This unit does power on my computer, however in a certainly alarming way. I have already been through one RMA with this unit (So I've tried two units now) and both of them have the same issue. Both units have made a crackling/arcing/buzzing sounds that I can hear over all of my 140mm fans. It's not my GPU, I've taken it out completely and it still makes the noise. I've taken a cardboard tube and listened to every individual part of my MOBO, so the noise isn't coming off of there. It's distinctly coming from the back/bottom of my computer case where the PSU is. I built my computer about a month ago and I haven't been able to use it apart from the initial build tests to verify that everything else was working properly, and any questions that people asked on various troubleshooting forums. So my new gaming rig has been useless for a little bit over a months time now. I've checked out my voltages, and I don't see any fluctuations even if I benchmark. I've tested the outlets in my house to make sure they were outputting sufficient power. I've tried putting everything on a different rail in case there was too much of a power draw. Nada. It's 100% an issue with this PSU. Maybe it's just not playing nice with my Gigabyte board (And considering I got a new unit from a new batch, it wouldn't be whatever old issue there was with Gigabyte boards). So far I've paid $111.85 for the first unit, plus an additional $33.87 on my first RMA. I'm currently at $145.72 for a unit that produces noise too concerning for me to attempt to use the computer. EVGA said they might set me up with a third RMA with free shipping, but if I get the third one and it produces the same noises, what exactly am I expected to do? Keep RMAing the thing indefinitely? Anyways the first RMA with EVGA was smooth so I'll credit them on their initial customer service, the replies are coming to a slow regarding the next RMA though. If you look up "NEX650G Coil Whine/Buzz/Noise" or "Why you should not buy an EVGA SuperNova NEX650G/750G" You'll now see my growing concerns with my purchase. I have several videos up on the issue and am trying my best to get this issue sorted out without pestering EVGA, I've been to at least 5 different forums so far and the general consensus is keep RMAing it until it works or that I should've bought a High-End Seasonic for my build. Anyways I'm certainly trying my best to solve the issue on my own or get some decent answers, and I'm also trying to work with EVGA customer support. My experience may not be your experience however. So I'll give EVGA a good rating for customer support, but this product just... It's just not working.

Other Thoughts: Hopefully this issue will get resolved between me and EVGA, if I can edit this review later I'll definitely correct it if they help me out.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Jake G,

I am sorry to hear of the problem that you are experiencing with a buzzing sound. I can confirm that this is abnormal behavior and if it does happen on two power supplies this usually means that there is unfortunately something else occurring. I can confirm that either way we are here to help you and please contact our 24 hour support at 1-888-881-3842 option 1 or by email at so that we can assist you with narrowing this down further.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: Runs great so far, looks and feels good in my case, really quiet. Love the red cables.

Cons: None that I can think of. Yet anyways.

Other Thoughts: I like extra stuff. Posters, Stickers, ect. The box this came in is really good for storing cables and other small parts. It even has a handle for mobile uses. The straps that are used to organizes the cables in the box are great for organizing in my pc case and for other things outside my pc case like headphones wires. The bag the PSU is also nice.

5 out of 5 eggsNever had a modular PSU before

Pros: This is my first modular power supply and I am impressed. I grew up with ten to twenty molex power cables stuck to a brick and this was so clean it almost brought a tear to my eye. Note: don't cry while assembling a computer.

The cables themselves were thick and sturdy.

Cons: Cables were so thick that they took some finagling. They aren't as flexible but they sure aren't going to fall apart.

Other Thoughts: Red VGA power cables stand out. Not good, not bad, but worth noting if you've got a case with a window and you're building for aesthetics.

5 out of 5 eggsEVGA NEX 650Watt PSU

Pros: --Build quality is high. Matte-black finish PSU and well-packaged box.
--Price vs other competitors
--Gold-Rated PSU for it's low price
--Fully Modular
--Full continuous wattage, not peak wattage
--Sleeved cables & color-coordinated
--10 Year warranty (after product registration)
--Great reviews about EVGA customer support
--$20.00 rebate
--Extremely quiet ball bearing fan

Cons: --Handle support bar can interfere with some cases. Check your case before purchasing.
--No LED fan

Other Thoughts: Highly recommend this PSU due to the fact that it's the most affordable Gold-rated PSU on the market. Comes with a 10 year warranty and it's made by well-known EVGA.

Most importantly, it's continuous 650 watts, not peak. This is very important for people running any high-end GPU. I learned it the hard way by using an unnamed 750watt PSU and suffered PC shut-offs and unstable voltage. Once I installed EVGA NEX 650Watt PSU, all is stable and no more PC shut offs during gaming.

I'm no PC technician, but when they say the PSU is the life line of a PC, it's really true. Don't cheap out on a PSU like me. I learned it the hard way.

4 out of 5 eggsGood budget PSU

Pros: -Fully modular
-10 year warranty
-Cheap ($60 when I bought it)
-80+ Gold
-Nice sturdy design (the handle is actually useful) and cable management

Cons: -Loud (have fun going to sleep with your computer turned on)
-12v rails only go up to 20amps (it should be enough for pretty much anything, though very high end GPUs need more)

Other Thoughts: Definitely recommended for budget builds.
