4 out of 5 eggsGreat quality

Pros: Lots of room for air flow, big fan and not to many cords, just what was required. overall good power supply

Cons: Only thing is its 450 watts, but that's my fault for getting a low wattage, a little over priced for 450 watts

5 out of 5 eggsANTEC 450w Power Supply - Will buy again

Pros: Dual 12v Rails, Plenty of Cables for an AMD A8 APU build I did for a friend. Plenty of power for the APU board. I would buy this again as it a great price for a very nice power supply.

Cons: No cons that I could find.

Other Thoughts: Newegg is always fast at processing my orders.. Newegg is awesome!

3 out of 5 eggsAntec VP-450 450W worked great for 6 months

Pros: Worked great on a machine the consumes around 310W ran quiet didnt put out that much heat it was a very nice power supply ran my PC well for exactly 6 months

Cons: Started having issues at the 6 month mark I would have to bleed the charge off the caps unplug plug back in and wait 20 minutes for the caps to charge say a quick prayer to Saint Vidicon and hope that Finangle wouldn't fight it on turning on (in other words the caps aren't charging correctly)

Other Thoughts: Antec has been a great company in the past I hope their RMA is willing to replace the power supply with a non lemon one if not it will be the last one I buy from them

1 out of 5 eggsdissapointed

Pros: none, since it died in 6 months

Cons: Died in 6 months.

Other Thoughts: I have purchased many items from Antec and for the most part have been pretty good but lately I'm finding their quality going down hill.

1 out of 5 eggsMine lasted 8 months

Pros: Quiet, inexpensive.

Cons: Failed after 8 months.

Other Thoughts: The motherboard in my wife's E8400 based machine failed so I decided to rebuild it with an FX-6300 and MSI 970A-G43. I decided to replace the power supply at the same time since it was over 3 years old. It ran fine for awhile but then it started having funky power problems, shutting down when nobody was around. Finally it failed to power on again. I swapped the old supply back in (an older Antec) and it's been fine since. That was about two months ago.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Randyg,

Was very unfortunate that had happened to your wife's machine.

We'd be happy to send you a replacement PSU for your VP-450.

Please contact our customer support at support.antec.com

Thank you,

Antec Team

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

Pros: Works like it should, hasn't failed in over a year.

Cons: None that I can think of

Other Thoughts: Works fine for basic machines for businesses. I use it in builds for customers, haven't had a failure yet.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product that gets the job done!

Pros: Immediate response after sudden power outages
Cool and quiet
Easy installation

Cons: Bigger than expected

Other Thoughts: I built a desktop for my aunt and I wanted it to be a lower mid-range PC. The price of this combined with the specs was perfect, but before I found this I decided to go with an even cheaper brand which turned out to be a mistake. With the other brand I received 2 dead power supplies in a row then I found a list of power suppliers, their products, and the grades they receive. This Antec power supply was in the B+, A- range which was an even better deal.

One year later and there have been no hiccups even with power outages. It even performs better than the Rosewill 1000W power supply (which is going to be replaced soon) I have in my personal desktop which in a power outage I have to jump through all sorts of hoops to get back on.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good product

Pros: Has everything one would want for a basic gaming computer. I've owned this power supply since Feb 2012 and it runs really cool, quiet, etc. Very good product. This was installed in a work computer that doubles as a gaming computer! Dual rails is a +.

Cons: no cons found.

4 out of 5 eggsCan't Beat it for the Money

Pros: Really, it's hard to beat. Antec has always been a high quality brand for me, and this was no exception.

Cons: The only reason this was not a 5 star unit for me was that it did not allow the Haswell build to sleep correctly. It would power down, but never wake.

Other Thoughts: If I was building a high-end rig, I would not be getting this. Worked fine for the i3 build it went into though. Now, there may be I few adjustments I could make in the BIOS for this (my unit went out to a customer) but I was I little disappointed to see that the unit is labeled Haswell compatible and did not quite deliver.

4 out of 5 eggsAntec 450 watt

Pros: I've had this PSU for about 1 year, it ran all my stuff fine up until the 1 year mark. It ran an HD 6770 1gb for a while then got migrated into another case where it is currently running an Asus 7770 2gb. Good PSU for the price, looks sexy in a windowed case.

Cons: The PSU makes a grinding and clicking noise when under a heavy load. caused a few BSODs, my computer is grinding to a halt and freezes constantly. I am getting a new Lepa PSU soon.
