5 out of 5 eggsGreat little replacement

Pros: This is a great little PSU for use as a replacement in an existing PC or as the heart of a basic, non-gaming desktop build.

Cons: None to report. Antec is always top quality in all their products.

2 out of 5 eggsEhh wait till you can get something better.

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Terrible whining noise
Risky
Ugly

Other Thoughts: Wait and get a cx430 if you can. My friend has this and his seems to be okay, but mine was a complete dud, only reason it gets 2 stars is because my friend's works.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Good Value for Money

Pros: Good clean power, Antec build quality and reputation, 120mm fan isn't loud, nice long cables, wasn't DOA, got it on sale for a great price and the rebate actually worked

Cons: Could be quieter, wasn't free....?

Other Thoughts: Overall I'm very happy with my purchase so far. Time will tell....
This unit is powering an FX-6300 OC'd @ 4.4GHz, 8Gb DDR3-1866, 3 120mm fans, and two 1Tb hard drives.

5 out of 5 eggsDependable

Pros: For the price a great PSU, rails tested ok, not as high as a top PSU but were good. Did not run tests under load as this wasn't for me.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Antec has been making PSU's for a long time and they have always been very dependable.

Had no problems and it's been 7mo and still running, just talked to the owner.

5 out of 5 eggsRock Solid

Pros: Incredible Value for the money. It's stable and reliable what more could you ask for.

Cons: Non sleeved cables, but that's expected at this price point. I prefer single rail models... but for low power systems it really doesn't matter.

Other Thoughts: I have purchased two of these so far. My first was for my son's lower end gaming rig. The second one I just dropped in my FeeeNAS server which runs 24/7/365. Check out the stellar review by Hardware Secrets...an non-biased, independent source. The CX-430 seems to get all the "fan fair" these days (the CX-430 is a good PS...and I own a couple of them too) but IMHO the VP-450 is equally as good and cost less. I highly recommend this power supply

5 out of 5 eggsQuality "Value" Power Supply

Pros: I bought this power supply for a 2nd system that I didn't plan on doing much with. However, plans changed and now this unit is powering an overclocked 4670K and an R9 280X with no issues.

System components:
i5 4670K @ 4.2GHz
Asus Z87-A motherboard
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo in push/pull (2 fans)
8GB G.skill DDR 3 2133MHz
XFX R9 280X TDFD
1TB HD
3 120mm case fans

This system is mining cryptocurrency with both CPU and GPU, consuming 350 watts according to my UPS. I'm glad to report I haven't had any power-related issues.

Cons: It's a little loud when under the stress my system is putting on it, but it's not too bad.

Other Thoughts: A lot of people greatly overestimate how big of a power supply they need to run their system. This should be just fine for the vast majority of systems as long as they don't have ultra high-end video cards, multiple video cards, or an unusually high number other components.

Also, I had to use two adapters in order to power the video card:
6 pin PCIe -> 8 pin PCIe
2 molex -> 6 pin PCIe

5 out of 5 eggsbest for the price

Pros: Good connector assortment and good quality case. A little heavier than the cheapie I'm replacing (good). Great basic PSU for most desktops @450 w which is plenty.
Can't beat the quality, dependabilty vs cost.

Cons: zero

Other Thoughts: Received this PSU (in CA) from Newegg (not Marketplace seller) in only two days! That is fast, but normal for Newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

Pros: I can't say enough about this PSU. Admittedly this was overkill for the cheap build i made for a friend, but sometimes that's good. I worked without a problem, didn't cause any problems with the puter even when went and did some overclocking on the APU. Has all the connectors and what not you expect and the management of cables is decently done.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I used this for a build i did for a friend. It was my first bottom mounted PSU, so i wasn't sure how this would work out. But the connectors all reached with enough to spare that i wasn't at all concerned. If u need a good budget PSU go for it!
