It’s all about the power. No matter if you’re using brand new, high end components or you’re cobbling together a system from leftover parts, you need a stable, reliable power supply unit. The Antec BP550 plus delivers 550 Watts of power with active PFC and heavy duty protection circuitry which protects your components from damage caused by short circuits, over circuits, excess voltage and other hazards.

The PSU has an integral 120mm low noise cooling fan to aid in keeping your entire system operating at optimal temperatures. Similarly, the modular cable system lets you install only the cords you need for your system. CPU power can be provided using either a 4or 8-pin connector, and you can connect to a PCI Express expansion card with either a 6-pin or 6+2 pin cable.

By installing only the cables you need, you are able to improve airflow within the case as well as the ease with which you can access and install the components. UL certified, with a MTBF of 100,000 hours, the BP550 Plus will provide long, reliable service for your system.

Modular Cable System The Modular Cable System featured in the BP550 Plus provides the user with an easy installation experience as well as increased airflow due to the lack of unneeded cables.
Quiet Cooling The BP550 Plus features a quite 120mm fan to cool your CPU with little increase in system noise.
Circuitry Protection The built in heavy duty circuitry protection prevents damage resulting from short circuits, over voltages, and other electrical hazards.

Cons: Bought this because I thought from what the picture states that the 6.1 inches was the width and not the depth. WRONG! For my HTPC I needed the depth of my PSU to be less than 6 inches. Even if it was less than 6 inches they didn't account for the modular plugs sticking out therefore making it even longer than what is shown. Really need to fix this so people don't make the same mistake as I did. Waste of money. Other Thoughts: fix the picture Antec to the right one because the way I see it, it's false advertising.... Ran my amd powered gaming machine with 9800gtx fine while it lasted. Cons: Not reliable and a very short life span. Right around 3 years of use the power supply died and took out my motherboard. Installed easy, had everything I needed for Asrock Extreme 4 / Radeon HD 7950 / Intel it 3570k. The cables are sheathed so they look great. Made cable management a breeze. For the price, I could find nothing better. It also had enough power supply lines for my big HD 7950, it requires dual power inputs. Cons: Its silver so if your case is black on the inside it wont match. Also, it does not transform into a car or robot as I had hoped. Other Thoughts: For a single video setup, this thing is a no brainer, I could not find any modular setups anywhere near this price point, plus Antec is a pretty reputable brand. Unfortunately, I don't have the money to lay down for a full build everytime I get the urge to build a new computer so I buy the parts piecemeal as they go on sale and as my budget permits. In this case, it took about 2 months for me to assemble the thing and the RMA time frame has already passed. So now I'm left wondering what to do with this unit. Hopefully, Antec will give me an idea. Other Thoughts: I keep telling myself I should put these things together as soon as they come in to avoid such issues... You can pay more money for the "name" PSU's and they are great too but for a budget build you won't go wrong with ANTEC. Cons: none Other Thoughts: This one went in my home office build!
