5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This PSU has lasted me for more about 2 and a half years now and has been working wonderfully. It's not that loud and has powered my AMD Athlon X4 640, 450 GTS and my 16GB RAM for my very minor video editing, normal usage and gaming. It also has space for you to add extra cables if you need like another PCI cable for example.

Cons: None so far.

5 out of 5 eggsGrr8!

Pros: Clean design and make, very versatile, no nonsense install went perfectly and it is doing it's job admirably.
Appears to have a lot of power to spare. Fan runs quietly and unobtrusively.

Cons: None, zero zilch!

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Lasted 4 years

Cons: Lasted 4 years

Other Thoughts: This was a good solid PSU. It finally bit the dust and I had to replace it. Wish it would have lasted a bit longer and I would buy nothing but Antec. I went Corsair second time around.

5 out of 5 eggsGoing Strong

Pros: I bought this mid tower atx case back in 2008 that came with this power supply and yes it is still working in 2014. Pretty reliable and I have put this power supply to the test by overclocking and running pcs for long periods of time. Defiantly worth your time for a cheap reliable power supply.

Cons: None really.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Stuff

Pros: I got this thing back in 2012 and it's still trucking strong! Never had any issues with it.

Cons: Besides the fact that it's an older model and I am sure there could be a better one I can't think of any cons.

1 out of 5 eggsIt broke after < 60 days

Pros: It worked for 58 days

Cons: Then it broke - high-pitched whining noise I could hear two rooms away, and a few seconds later my computer BSOD'd complaining about an internal power fault. I don't know yet if it destroyed anything else. My next power supply comes from Fry's.

Other Thoughts: NewEgg said I'd have to send it to the manufacturer. Their website says if it breaks within 60 days, return it to the vendor. So...? Maybe I'll wait till tomorrow and then report it to Antec. But it looks like they don't give refunds, so I'll probably get the replacement and sell it on (the big online auction site I'm not allowed to mention by name here). What a pain.

Manufacturer Response:

It's unfortunate that The BP550 Plus didn't work out for you. What components were in your system? Like you mentioned, we will give you a brand new replacement once you contact our customer support.

Thank you,

Antec Support Team

5 out of 5 eggsAntec 550W Power Supply

Pros: Bought this for the custome pc that I am working on, haven't had any problems with it came well packed and delivered fast. Does the job well and for a decent price.

Cons: When i did a exterior view of the box one of the power plugs seemed to have a bit of white residue not 100%sure on what it could be but it was easily scraped off so not the biggest concern in the world.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Power Supply

Pros: Good solid semi-mod. power supply. Nice and quiet barely
hear the fan spin. Upgraded to this unit for a new Haswell
build in an old Antec 835 case. Tested good on my tester
out of the box.

Cons: Really none at this time.

Other Thoughts: Great combination Antec and Newegg. Great service, and
this box was packed better than a lot I have received from
Newegg. Hey Newegg thanks again!!!!
