2 out of 5 eggsWORKED FOR 3HRS THEN DIED

Pros: ANTEC ...

Cons: BUILT A SYSTEM ON IT. AFTER I HAD ALL THE WINDOW UPDATES DONE AND READY TO INSTALL SOME SOFTWARE THE COMPUTER SHUT OFF. PUT ON MY POWER SUPPLY TESTER AND IT FAILED ALL THE VOLTAGES. NOW IN THE PROCESS OF RMA. HOPEFULLY THIS IS AND ISOLATED INCIDENT.

Other Thoughts: ANTEC DON'T LET US DOWN.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Six years later, it works like the first day I had it.

Cons: It was an odd choice for antec to make one graphics card power line non-modular. This is a minor annoyance to me, as the machine the power supply is in has absolutely no video out (its a headless server). This is a very minor gripe.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Fine

Pros: Needed a PS with 20A or more on each rail. This fit the bill. Simple modular cable design. Only needed one SATA power cable to cover three drives.

Cons: One PCIe cable is hard wired on the primary rail with the Motherboard PS connector and CPU 12v. Since I did not need it, I tied it up out of the way. Would have been nice to be able to remove it.

5 out of 5 eggsWould buy again luckily don't need to

Pros: Reliable, good price, not too loud

Cons: Nothing of note

Other Thoughts: Have had this running almost 24/7 for more than 5 years. Saw that it is listed as a tier 3 PSU on an "eggxpert" list of various PSU (that's after tiers 1,2a, and 2b). Currently powering i7 920 and gtx 760, going strong.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid and stable

Pros: - Modular
- Efficient
- VERY reliable
- Quiet

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: This has been running a 24/7 home server since I received it 4 years ago. I have not had a single issue with it. It has been rock solid.

If you don't need a ton of power and want something modular, reliable, efficient and quiet I doubt you will find anything as rock solid as this power supply at this price.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Reliable

Pros: Plonked this in my home server and forgot about it - it's been very solid and reliable, running for a few years now.

Modular cabline is great, I wish all PSUs did this - my desktop is a mess with all the cables that I don't use.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsDurable, Fantastic Value

Pros: 1) Reliable and stable.
2) 80+ Modular
3) Cable length is perfect for wire hiding in Mid Towers.
4) Should be more than sufficient for almost any mid GTX700 card.
5) Look at the price again.

Cons: Nothing.

Other Thoughts: You simply can't go wrong if you are running 1-3 HD's and a recent middle market Nvidia GPU.

Don't worry about the "600w required" on many GPU's,, that's only for low efficiency P/S that most inexpensive cases and PC's come with.

5 out of 5 eggsAntec Stable Reliable 5 years on

Pros: We have had this for so long that we just haven't given it much thought. When you shop for components and you are unfamiliar with a brand or model you may have your fingers crossed for a while but Antec has always been reliable for me. All previous Antec I have purchased still work to date including my first one back in 2002.

This is powering

MSI 785gm e65 motherboard
Phenom2 CPU
MSI GTS250 video card w/1 gig ram
4 gigs of Mushkin 1600 ram
5 hard drives
1 SSD drive
Liteon dvd disk drive
syba usb sound card
4 case cooling fans
120mm cpu fan
usb headphones
2 usb mice

Plenty of molecs and sata power connectors

The cabling is quality

Cons: There is just not any cons that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: When I hooked up a meter to the pc power connector the system idled at 80 watts and during my game play it used 300 watts so there is and has been plenty of overhead and I plan on using this PSU until it is maxed out to specs but then again after 5 years that may not ever happen.

Over the years I have used Antec and I have never had one break or die. I know there is a certain amount of luck involved but these are built by great engineers.

Don't buy a cheap power supply! A cheap power supply is
not worth the headaches that comes with them and the worry of a fire. Cheap PSU's either have no protection circuits or possibly unreliable ones. When you buy cheap you accept that chance.

Even though I personally have never had a DOA Antec that doesn't mean it can't happen nor would it deter me from continuing to be a customer, those things happen and it comes with the territory.
