1 out of 5 eggsNot for Crossfire

Pros: Quiet, ran normal amount of cables for a PSU this size.

Cons: Do not get this if you are looking to use 2 Vid cards. First I will point out I didn't use the crossfire functionality. My goal was 3 monitors. During all my issues I was only using 2 monitors(1 plugged into each card). I'm just assuming crossfire would have had the same issues, but I didn't confirm.

Tried it with 2 5770s. There are 2 cables which antec says are for PCI-E. One is labeled this way, the other is labeled P4. Web site says this is for PCI-E as well.

One of my cards would just cut out on reasonable load. Running non gaming applications both cards ran for 2+ days with no issues. First time I loaded up WoW, the card that had the "P4" cable plugged into it just cut out and my monitor saw "no signal" and shut off. I swapped the cables and while it did last a little longer, the card with P4 eventually shut off again.

Other Thoughts: Now I know 650W is not on the high end and I probably should have gone higher to start with. That said, this has plenty of amps on 12V rails to power everything I have. I am only running an i5 760, 1 harddrive, 1 dvd burner, 2 vid cards and whatever fans come in an antec 902.

I can only assume the 3 rails is what is causing my issues. The 2 PCI-E connectors may be on the same rail and not able to share power from the other rails.

I would still recommend it to anyone for a normal system. I had zero issues when I removed 1 vid card and just used one.

I have since replaced the PSU with a thermaltake 775W and everything now runs as it should.

Pros: Nice power supply. Quiet and strong. No problems at all.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: When i first got it, I plugged it up before i hooked it up. I thought it was DOA and almost returned it. I hooked it to the mobo and it started up. Sometimes i can be such a noob. Works great.

5 out of 5 eggsStable and Reliable

Pros: It runs the i7 system I built with no hitches or blips.
Its quiet.

Cons: none yet

Other Thoughts: First computer I ever built, process went flawlessly. Will probably add RAID and second GPU in forseeable future, but I did my homework and this PSU should be able to power it.

3 out of 5 eggsHad to upgrade my upgrade

Pros: The EA650 supplied power perfectly to the following system:
Core i3 530
Gigabyte P55 mobo
1xHD5750
3xHDDs

Cons: ... but that was the absolute limit. I added a second HD5750 and got blue screens. I substituted a Core i5 750 and got blue screens. I added a fourth HDD and got blue screens. I overclocked the tiniest bit and got blue screens. Yeesh.

Other Thoughts: This PS ought to be capable of more. Perhaps I got a lemon. All my blue screens went away, though, when I spent a little more on a competitor's 850-watt PS that came in a black velvet bag.

Like Click and Clack say, it's the cheapskate who spends the most.

Pros: This power supply is very quiet, has plenty of chords for your needs, 650 watts, ive used antec before and ran strong for years untilll it died..

Cons: Too bad its not modular

Other Thoughts: I bought this with a combo deal with the antec 300 illusion case, very satisfied with both the case and power supply as my computer runs very quiet and case w psu is suitable for those who wanna do a little high end gaming as well..

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It's a high quality 650w power supply. Not much else to say.

Cons: No cable sleeves. Things get tangled much easier this way, and doesn't look near as good, also harder to keep cables neat. -1 egg for this.
