1 out of 5 eggsLasted less than 1 year!

Pros: Modular

Cons: I enjoyed this power supply at first, however the unit I received is faulty. I purchased this March of 2013 for a new build that I finally completed about a month later. It worked great for the first 11 months or so, then randomly my rig would lose power and I would reboot. This happened at about a frequency of 1-2 times a week under both heavy and light loads. I wasn't sure what the culprit was at the time and didn't have time to look into it either. Finally 4 days ago my machine stopped powering up all together. I have since swapped power supplies and tested this unit in another machine and I am sure its dead.

Other Thoughts: I have contacted OCZ for fulfillment of their 5-year warranty although noone has responded to my RMA ticket request so far. Lets hope they are honest and stand behind their warranty.

5 out of 5 eggsVery stable

Pros: Using this on a i7 3930k and GTX 770. Very stable voltages coming out. I was a little nervous since this model was put out a few years ago, but it still is excellent compared to today's technology. Kill-A-Watt confirms I'm getting around 90% power efficiency for pretty much any use, other than some hard video editting where it drops down a few %'s. All the cords are high quality, and plenty were given for a xfire/sli setup.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU! Silent, Cool, Powerful, Sleek

Pros: I've owned many Power Supplies in my life and this one has become my favorite yet. To start, great packaging, unit looks real sleek with its foil labeling and yellow pins. More important though, the tech info. The psu is a unique size; smaller than most, it will fit in any case comfortably. In regards to cases, this PSU comes with 4 Finger Screws as oppose to the traditional case/motherboard screws that come with most others. Beside that, the Non-modular rails cables are all utilized on a modern PC. CPU, Motherboard, and a few SATA lines are all plugged in of the bat. Next the modular cables are plugged in. SLI graphic cards powered by dual PCIE cables (both of which are 6 Pin + 2 pin break-away heads in case you have a gpu that requires 8pin connections). One more (of the 2) Sata lines are added to power my RAID and the pc has a nice new Power Supply Unit. A Molex line is also included, but I had no need for it.

Doing its job, the power supply works great! It is dead silent, it runs VERY cool, and powers up all my components nicely. I had purchased this because my old psu was unable to POST upon its first Boot. It would require a hard-restart. This was due to a swollen capacitor. The Lightning Cured this issue and I cannot describe how great it was to conquer the problem.

Looking for a new psu for your build or to replace a lesser or dead one, I highly recommend this now. The price at this point to quality, is the BEST. Take my advice, get this now while the promo price is still available. This product is EOL so the unites selling now will be the last of them. NO OTHER 80PLUS GOLD unite @ 1000watts will compare. The next comparable power supply will cost you at least 80-150 dollars more. In addition, this comes with a great warranty! Being that the unit will probably not exist in a year or so, OCZ would probably send a newer comparable item in the case you RMA in the future!

Lastly, my rebate came as an American Express gift card ($27) in 3 weeks. In the end I paid about $100 for a psu that when it was released a few years ago, cost 300$!

Cons: At the moment, none come to mind. I've owned this for only about 2 months or less so only time can tell how the unit holds up.

Other Thoughts: I cannot stress enough, if you are in the market, this is the best deal out there. Even if you don't need the 1000W and just want a nice 80PLUS unit, this is STILL your best bet. Let your PC have the chance to be future proof. Tons of wattage and modular room to add more SATA and/or PCIE lines! Get the Top end 80 PLUS GOLD rated power supply.

4 out of 5 eggsWorked excellent for 2.57 years

Pros: Worked excellent for 2.57 years, good thing it's a 3 year warranty. Never got hot, was kept in a ACed room.
Modular is excelent only use the cables I needed, less clutter in the box.

Cons: Died close to expiration of warranty., Died after 2.58 Years, could be worse could have died after 3 years.

Other Thoughts: Four eggs for dying in the warranty period. It looks really cool, was a replacement for a 750w power supply that died in a month. Calculated how many watts I needed and It was less than 600w so this was good. I was hoping to get 5 years out of it, but hopefully no RMA issues and the replacement last another 2-3 Years.

5 out of 5 eggsA ton of power for cheap!

Pros: My OC'ed system runs very stable with this PSU. Used to get undervoltage errors when I had a 620 watt (prior to SLI) so I needed to upgrade the PSU just for a couple more USB devices and then let me go SLI.
Powers the following with plenty to spare:
Core i7 3770k OC'ed to 4.5
2X Gigabyte Windoforce GTX 670 SLI OC'ed to 1300mhz
32GB RAM OC'ed to 2600
1 Samsung 840 Pro 256GB (OS)
1 OCZ Agility 4 256GB (programs/agmes)
2x 3TB Samsung Barracuda 3.5inch 7200rpm
7 case fans
Wifi/bluetooth pcie card
Dual LAN adapters
4 monitors: 1024x768, 2x 1920x1080, 2560x1440
4-8 USB devices (some usb ports used for charging mouse, headphones, phone, tablet)

Cons: Not Platinum certified.
Older design - was one of the first 80+ gold PSU's available
Not Fully Modular - I used all of the permanently attached cables plus had to use a few of the modular cables as well. If you are planning on very few components then there really is no reason to get a 1000 watt PSU. The fact that you can't unplug a couple cables like the motherboard cable, a sata cable and a pci cable should not be a con for anyone in the market for a PSU with this much power.

Other Thoughts: Despite its age, this PSU works very well and has a ton of power. My overclocks are far more stable now that I have more power to play with. I'm sure I have a couple hundred extra unused watts even with an SLI setup so unless you're going SLI and beyond, you don't need 1000 watts. Complete overkill for a single GPU system. Even with my numerous components, I probably could have gotten away with a good 750 watt or 850 watt PSU but this power supply unit was such a good deal, it was hard to pass up. I have no complaints. Have owned it for about 2-3 months now and haven't had any problems with it in that time.
