4 out of 5 eggsRebate was a dud

Pros: PSU works fine, not much to say about that.

Cons: The rebate (which was most of the reason why I picked this particular PSU) was basically a trick. I did everything that the slightly annoying OCZ rebate website said to do, and they denied my request for rebate AFTER the rebate send-by date has elapsed. Not happy about that.

Other Thoughts: Basically, the product is fine, but don't buy it for the rebate.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Power Supply

Pros: They are great PSUs,I have three of them. They all work like a charm, very quite, efficient, modular, give me all the power I need.Excellent price after rebate & combo deal, can't beat it.

Cons: Third one dead after two days,Newegg took care that without any problem,so that's not a big deal.

Other Thoughts: Never trust rebate, never did rebate at Newegg before, sent out two rebates, everything went flawlessly, about 10 weeks, got my money. Will buy OZC name again.

3 out of 5 eggsWorked great for about a week...

Pros: A very nice power supply has great cable management and the air flow was good.

Cons: Worked for one week and then just would turn on. The board had power but nothing would start the power supply. Even tried jumping the leads to turn in on as suggested by OCZ's tech support with no luck. I know there is a certain amount of manufacturing error allowed but that does not make having to RMA a power supply after less then a week any better.

Other Thoughts: OCZ's tech support has been good so that is a plus but I have built lots of machines and never had a power supply that ran for 5min stop working a week later.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, we are sorry for the problem. We are pleased to hear that our support staff has been helpful, and they will get you taken care of quickly.
Thank you

1 out of 5 eggsOCZ Mod pro 600 watt

Pros: Good price point for 600 watt modular supply. Modular is nice to put into a build, looks nice.

Cons: I should have listened to my friend who said to not buy OCZ power supplies. Exactly what he said was happening to his after 4 months is happening to mine on day 2. A horrible rattle, buzz, or loose bearing sound. its hard to explain but not hard to hear! funny point is that when the tower is standing up normally it is really loud and like tic tic tic tic tic but real bad. if i pick the tower up and hold it at a 45 % angle the noise goes away. and if the tower is laying horizontally it comes back but is not as bad as when the tower is in its correct position. A little noise and ticing I can handle. But this is just not acceptable for my hard earned money. Lots of people like this supply, but its back to antec and cooler master for me. The more i listen to it (like right now while im writing this) it is definetly the bearings O well im just glad it happened so soon so i can rma it to newegg.

Other Thoughts: I would avoid this supply if i were you, unless you like your pc to sound like a

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, we are sorry for the issue. It sounds as though this PSU was handled roughly during shipping, and a wire or component has broken loose, and this is hitting the fan, causing the tick. A replacement unit through Newegg will work out fine for you.
Thank you

4 out of 5 eggsRebate Report

Pros: The rebate arrived.

Cons: It took 14 weeks.

Other Thoughts: On the same day, I received a Corsair rebate that took 9 weeks.

Clearly, OCZ has chosen to cut a deal for slower rebate handling. OCZ is responsible for selecting the rebate house -- their blaming the rebate house for delays is silly. They know what the delay is, and if they wanted faster response, they could get it (probably at higher cost).

I'm very happy with the power supply. Not so much with the rebate.

I just bought another one of these, with rebate.

4 out of 5 eggsOCZ600MXSP cable length

Pros: Very quite 135 mm fan. 25 amps on 2-12v rails.
80+ cerified. I5 ready. 3.4, 5.1, 12.2 on 3.3, 5 12 volt rails.

Cons: Cables are 2" too short.
24-pin (20+4) main connector 18"
8-pin EPS12V 18" ( 2" Too Short for Bottom mount PSU without Extension)
4-pin ATX12V 18"

Modular Cables:
(2) 3 x Sata 18.5"+6.5"+6.5"
(2) 2 x Molex + 1 x Floppy 18.5"+6"+6"to floppy 4-pin
(2) 8-pin (6+2) PCI-E 18.5"

Other Thoughts: Because of bottom mount PSU I need a ATX12V 8-pin extension to complete build.

5 out of 5 eggsModular but not in all cases

Pros: Sleek look. Carrying case for extra cables when not in use. Very quiet

Cons: As other reviewers have pointed out, this PSU has both a 4 pin and 8 pin CPU cable that cannot be removed, resulting in needing to tuck one of them since I can't use both and they aren't modular. The 4 pin cable for the CPU was nearly not long enough since it is mounted at the bottom of my case and the plug was at the top of the motherboard. I ended up having to stretch it over the video card, and it just barely made it. If the video card was any taller, it would not have fit.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

Pros: Its working great. I have a bottom mounted PSU case and had very few problems with wire length. 600w is plenty of power to keep my rig running...

Cons: Keep in mind I had FEW problems with wire length... but a close call with the CPU power connector almost not reaching over my 9800gtx+ to get to it. I can't even dream of wire management on this peice unless I buy a connector. Luckily my case isn't see-thru so no eggs docked from me.

Others may want to keep this in mind though.

Other Thoughts: Wire management can be difficult when it comes to the mobo and cpu power cables but other than that the fact that this thing is modular makes up for the lack of cable length. I also have a 9800gtx+, which is obnoxiously large, getting in the way.

Last note... I have a friend who swore off modular PSUs because he said he had a problem with cables falling out all the time. No such issues here.

Solid purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsDespite other reviews...

Pros: Despite other reviews saying DOA (you are going to see DOA's on every item at some point) I have build 3 systems with this power supply so far. Never a hitch and has stable power to all my components.

Although it's "modular" I still have to use all the cables to hook up all of my components but no biggie - I have a lot of hardware to run.

Also comes well packaged and feels like quality right out of the box.

Cons: None to list

Other Thoughts: AMD Athlon II x4 Propus 635 2.9 GHz
4 GB A-data Gaming Series Memory
MSI G45-770 mobo
EVGA GTX460 Superclocked video card
Intel x25-v SSD 40GB :(
1TB Samsung 7200 RPM drive
Asus DVD-RW+
4 120mm fans ///// 1 140mm fan

Stable power!

However if you are planning to SLI some of these high end cards that are out now (which I don't think the slight performance for price is worth it) I would go with a higher wattage PSU. I believe this one would SLI a pair of GTX460's without a hitch but they are less power hungry than GTX470+

5 out of 5 eggsgreat product

Pros: modular, quiet, durable, great price

Cons: short 12v 8 pin cable, i had to go over my graphics card to just barely reach the motherboard connector. will be buying an extension to be able to cable manage it out the way but PSU should come ready to cable manage soon as you take out the box.

Other Thoughts: bought 2nd one for my new builds and will be buying few more soon. its become my go-to PSU for now
