5 out of 5 eggsWorks well and was cheap

Pros: Worked fine in an older HP media tower running a early dual core Pentium. Fan is relatively quiet and feels solidly made.

Cons: Cables are long and it is a large power supply but it fit in the HP mATX tower case.

Other Thoughts: Picked it up because it was cheap. So far it has been good.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid

Pros: Functional. I am running off of it with no unexpected shutdowns or similar problems. Despite the minor problems mentioned in detail below it really is a great product and I would buy one again without hesitation.

Cons: Some minor issues with the plugs. There were not enough 4pin connectors (standard white horizontal plugs, used for almost everything). I needed a splitter. Second, the four pin power connector for the motherboard was only barely long enough. It is tight.

Other Thoughts: The wires are laid out into three bundles, one going to the motherboard, one to the hard drives, and one to the disc drives. I had a weird fan connector behind the motherboard tray that required an extender. Does not come with a power cord, but don't we all have a bucket of those sitting around? Overall a great product, especially for the price I got it for.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Bang for the Buck!

Pros: Great for it operating range. Can out do PSUs in the $50 to $75 range. I'm using two in them is un-overclocked systems with one having an E6600, Two optical drives, 4GB of RAM and etc.... The other none overclocked system is my HTPC with an E8400 and similar to the other but with a GT 240 video card. It's almost a year old. Both of mine are very Quiet.

Cons: Not for overclocking but at it price point, hey! Minor droop during heavy loads but nothing really to complain about.

Other Thoughts: I'll buy this one every time for a Normal Build or for an HTPC.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Hum, well I own another HEC supply and it works great.

Cons: DOA. Making funny sounds, hope it didn't fry the motherboard I tried it with. Wasn't worth sending back so I opened it up to have a look inside. Found many incomplete and broken solder joints some under shrink tubing so not immediately noticeable.

Other Thoughts: The build quality seemed pretty bad. I hope not all HEC supplies are like this as I have another and it has been a great little workhorse.

5 out of 5 eggsgood buy

Pros: Bought it when it was on sale to replace a 400w psu. I don't have a high end system but it is powering a q6600 and radeon 4850 with no problems. for the price it's great.
i like the 6pin video card connector

Cons: wiring is just a bit thin but its expected for something so inexpensive

Other Thoughts: time will tell if this holds up

5 out of 5 eggsVery Satisfied

Pros: Replaced failed P/S and I see no difference at a fraction of the cost.

Cons: 4-pin connector to CPU is stretched to its limit in my Antec P183, but so was my previous power supply.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace a failed ENERMAX 500W that had been running for about 3.5 years. Wires aren't as protected as higher dollar power supplies, but that's expected for the affordable price.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It was cheap

Cons: Wrong voltage right out of the box.

Other Thoughts: First let me say that the amount of power you get for this price is great and as a computer networking major i have a lot of power cords so that was never a problem. Also as a networking major i was curious to see how this thing would work being it was so cheap, unfortunately my suspensions were right. I tested it right when i got it and my tester said the +12V2 was too low (it doesn't say what voltage it is just that its too low) but i through it in the desktop anyways and it powers it up. I don't want to deal with sending it back because it was only around 20 bucks at the time (instant savings) and its in a desktop that's 6 years old and i don't care about. If it wrecks it, oh well ive wanted to build a new for a while anyways. Bottom line, if you have a PC you care about or a gaming rig don't buy this power supply.

4 out of 5 eggsbest value

Pros: It worked fine without problem. I bought this one to replace the dead power supply of my HP computer .
This one have more power than the one that I replaced
585w vs 250w.

Cable lengths seem fine too. I have no problem of connecting them to my peripherals which are two dvd drives, two hard drives, one floppy, cpu power, mother board.

For the price I think it's the best value assume it holding up.

I just have it for a day or two so can't say much about reliability or durabilty.

Cons: It has only one pci-e power connector which some high end graphic card required two. Or if you config your system in SLI or cross fire that would not work out for you.

Although for most graphic cards and average users, one connector is good enough.
