To meet the ever higher requirements imbued by professional users and enthusiasts alike, SilverStone created the Strider Gold series power supplies. The Strider Gold models are built on similar platform as the award-winning Strider Plus series but with even higher efficiency ratings.

The Strider Gold series will encompass Wattage ranging from 550 to 1200 for a great variety of applications. With a 140mm depth for easy intgration, the ST65F-G is the world's shortest modular ATX PSU. In addition to 80 PLUS Gold level efficiency, all models are built to meet very high standards in electrical performance so they have ±3% voltage regulation, ±3% ripple & noise, and high amperage single +12V rail. Other notable features also included are 24/7 104°F (40°C) continuous output capability, low-noise 120mm fan, and multiple sets of PCI-E cables. For users looking for a power supply with a faultless combination of performance, efficiency, and quality, there is no need to look beyond the Strider Gold Series.

  • Compact design with a depth of 140mm for easy integration
  • 80 PLUS Gold certification with higher efficiency 87 - 90% at 20 - 100% load
  • 100% Modular cables
  • 650W (700W peak power) 24-hour fully continuous power output with 104°F (40°C) operating temperature
  • Class-leading single +12V rail with 54A
  • Strict ±3% voltage regulation and low ripple & noise
  • Silent running 120mm fan with 18dBA minimum

1. Designed for 80 PLUS Gold level of efficiency to reduce wasted heat and save on electricity.

2. 100% Modular cable design for use with short cable kit such as SilverStone's PP05 or for easy removal in a case with cable routed and tied down.

3. 140mm depth sets new standard for high Wattage PSUs with modular cables.

4. Powerful single +12V rail design, perfect for future high-end component upgrades or overclocking.

5. ±3% regulation and low ripple & noise performance for high stability.

6. Built-in 120mm fan has excellent airflow and low noise, perfect for quiet home or office use.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Worked for a month.

Cons: Performance of the rig began degrading. PSU wasn't providing enough power anymore. Nothing new was added to the machine. Began power cycling randomly. Same size PSU used to determine if there were other hardware faults -- worked perfectly. Frustrating experience, should have listened to the other reviewers.

This company won't get another dime from me for any of their products.

5 out of 5 eggsBest PSU for Micro builds

Pros: This power supply is a micro builders dream come true. I have a solid system micro ITX system. It can run a Geforce 780 with is ease. The short cable package is a must for Micro ITX builders.

Cons: The micro ITX cables are sold separate.

Other Thoughts: Awesome power supply. Solid power. Well built and designed. Nice and small for Micro builds.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Power supply!!!!

Pros: Small size, powerful

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I recent built a small form factor PC and the only modular power supply that could fit was the SILVERSTONE ST65F-G 650W. It powers my GTX 770 without any issues.

5 out of 5 eggsCompact, quiet & powerful!

Pros: Extremely compact. Pretty much the only choice if you're building a gaming rig into a Fractal Node 304 case. Can't even hear the fan. Fully modular AND leaves room for large cards (in my case). Power fed to a Haswell i7, 16GB PC2400 RAM, Asus Impact!, and GTX Titan is more than adequate.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This was a great move by silverstone: the market for compact, high-output fully modular PSUs is virtually un-tapped. I do wish they shipped with the 'short cable' kit instead of the standard one, though as anyone who is buying a compact PSU such as this is likely in a small case. Nit-picking, though. I'm not terribly sure what the other negative reviewers are talking about, I've had zero problems (not even coil whine) with this unit.

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: small form factor

Cons: low reliability

Other Thoughts: I've dealt with 2 of these so far. The first one lasted about 8 months before dying abruptly. I bought a 2nd as a replacement, and then it died in just over a week. After another week, SilverStone has still not gotten back to me regarding either unit, and won't accept units for which the rebates have already been filed, so I'm stuck with 2 black matte bricks.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The only PSU that will reasonably fit in the Fractal Design Node 304. It's quiet (can't hear it over the other fans in the case), and it powers my i7 and GTX 670 just fine.

Cons: -1 star for not including the shorter cables (SilverStone PP05 Short Cable Set, sold separatly).

Other Thoughts: Sorry to hear about the bad luck other reviewers had, mine is working great. Admittedly, I would go with SeaSonic or Corsair if they made a small enough fully modular PSU, but they don't. Kudos to SilverStone for catering to the Miti-ITX crowd!

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you very much for purchasing a SilverStone and for sharing your experience with us. Please rest assured that the ST65F-G is a high quality PSU. The previous two reviews posted seems to be unfounded as we were never contacted by them nor did we receive defective PSUs back from Newegg during the time of their postings.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed after almost a month

Pros: 140mm depth producing 650w

Cons: Failed after a little over 3 weeks. This is unfortunate because there are no substitutes producing this much power at 140mm depth.

Other Thoughts: It's looking pretty bad for this PSU according to reviews. I should have listened.

1 out of 5 eggsTwo PSUs, two failures

Pros: Small size, short cable kit available

Cons: First PSU failed on start up, also took out motherboard and CPU. Replacement PSU lasted a couple of weeks, and then failed in exactly the same way, taking out motherboard and CPU.

Other Thoughts: To paraphrase Oscar Wilde: one PSU failure is bad luck; two is just carelessness. I've lost confidence in Silverstone PSUs and replaced it with a Seasonic, which I should have done in the first place (as I normally do) and will certainly be doing in future.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you very much for purchasing a SilverStone. Our power supplies have built-in safety mechanisms that should prevent damage to connected components. We have not had any other reported problems with this PSU for nearly two months after your feedback here so we suspect your experience maybe isolated incidences that could be caused by something else. If you can, please get in contact with us directly with information of your system and the enviornment you use your computer in so we can help determine what went wrong:
