4 out of 5 eggsWorked Great died 2 yrs

Pros: 500 watts kept my computer smooth for 2 years straight without issue. Looks great, wires wrapped nicely, very good workmanship.

Cons: Started getting super hot could fry an egg on the outer case w/ fan running. Replaced fan anyway to no avail. Hot hot hot.. dead dead dead

Other Thoughts: Replaced with cooler master psu so far so great

5 out of 5 eggsWorks fine with HD 5830 and GTX 465

Pros: Works fine in a overclocked and unlocked Phenom II x3 @ x4 3.5ghz machine with two old Maxtor ATA-133 HDs in RAID 0 with active PATA-SATA adapters... and has done just fine with an HD 3850, HD 4850, HD 4870, HD 5830 and an EVGA GTX 265, all overclocked. Good build quality, quiet fan...

Cons: No cable management

Other Thoughts: GREAT PSU for the money. I believe this uses Antec/Channel Well internals.

4 out of 5 eggs3yrs+ R.I.P.

Pros: Good quality PSU for it's value.
Lasted from 05/22/07 to 06/01/10.
Had this PSU on for practically 24/7 straight for over 3yrs.
Never was it powered off for more than 15 minutes, now tho, it's powered off for life.

This PSU powered 4 internal storage drives. 3 External SATA/USB storage drives. Geforce 9800GTX+. Intel Duo Core E6600 Conroe processor without any problems, until it died.

Cons: 1yr warranty only.

Other Thoughts: It was a good PSU while it lasted. Tho, 3yrs is not bad, was hoping for a much longer lifespan. I've had only 1 other good PSU ($100+ value) died on me, that's due to my recklessness.

This one on the other hand decided to give out just from being on non-stop (tho the dust build up might've had something to do with it.) $50 for 3yrs of service is not too shappy.

Remember folks, you can avoid many headaches and frustrations with a good quality PSU when assembling a new PC system. So don't be cheap on a PSU. Get a good quality one.

It's difficult to find a decent PSU at this price range from my local retailers. Will order a better PSU from newegg, such as the CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX. It's a little more expensive than this one, but taking my own advice, it's best to invest on something that will last.

5 out of 5 eggsReal beauty

Pros: Pretty decent efficiency (the norm is around 63-65% minimum versus this being 70% minimum so it wastes a bit less power. A high efficiency PSU would generally be considered to be 75%, so it's a high mid I guess.)
Excellent reliability. Not one problem for me yet.
It handles power blinks/etc about as well as any other PSU I've ever had too.
120mm quiet fan as others have mentioned. (If noise is an issue, always go for a 120mm model since they can push more air at a lower RPM thus generate less noise for the same airflow.)
Good price for a PSU of such a range. It has very good specs for its pricerange in fact.
They still make and sell this thing. I expected the page to say "disabled product" given how long ago I bought mine. It's a good enough product that even though it has been so long they still carry it when most computer components these days disappear around a year at the most.

Cons: I guess the efficiency could be higher.
The cables are long (also a pro if you have a big case, but a con if it's a relatively small one. I used a few zip ties and got them out of the way of airflow nicely though.)

Other Thoughts: I first installed this PSU in early December of 2007, so I've had it more than two years now. A family member with a less power hungry PC setup but a cheaper PSU bought one half a year to a year or so after I got this one and theirs died about a week ago, taking out most of their system's components along the way (the HD survived at least, so no data loss.) When I say cheap, I don't mean $20 or something, just cheaper than this. This should give you an idea of differences in quality scale I think. I feel like my PSU will last another two years easily.

5 out of 5 eggsGood value...

Pros: 120mm fan. Runs cool and very quiet. Lots and lots of connectors for anything you might possibly want to hook up.

Cons: It had a small dent in the side of it. It didn't seem harmful to it other than cosmetic, so I didn't RMA it. It wouldn't be worth the trouble as it works fine.

Other Thoughts: Just remember when shopping for a cheap PSU, look at the amp rating and not the watt rating. Manufactures tend to be very optimistic about the wattage of PSUs. Amps tell the real story.

5 out of 5 eggsHey everyone it's a power supply!

Pros: Sturdily constructed, cloth wrapped cabling.
Relatively attractive finish. Plenty of connections for various devices.
The supplied power is stable and reasonable for the price you are paying.
Nice and quiet under the load I place on it, but that load is less than half of it's rated capacity.

Cons: Not really a con, but if you are working in a mid tower the profusion of cables can get a little overwhelming. cable management is your friend.

Other Thoughts: At the time of this review I've only had the PSU for a couple of weeks, so I will offer no thoughts on its reliability at the 2 year range, but it has performed admirably so far.

5 out of 5 eggs2.5 years and still going strong

Pros: It has been going strong for 2.5 years of 15 hours a day of computing. What else could I say?

Cons: Meh.

Other Thoughts: I just recently purchased one for my new build.
