USB devices have become so popular that it's easy to fill all of your ports and still need more. This seven port self-powered hub from Rosewill can help.

As we get more stuff on our desk, it helps if it looks good and doesn't have a large “footprint”. This vertically standing hub accomplishes both. It comes with its own 5V, 2Amp DC adapter so your computer doesn't need to provide the power and it is both USB 2.0 and 1.1 compatible. To keep your peripherals safe, it also protects against over-current conditions. It uses a mini Type B input connector (cable included) and has seven Type A output connectors.

If you're running out of sockets for your USB peripherals, then you definitely ought to take a look at this hub. It just might be the answer to all your problems. Well, the USB problems, at least.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth every dime !

Pros: This is the fourth Rosewill hub I've owned, all but one are currently in use. (One, a USB 3 platter hob, is working but the downstream connector is broken) This model is the best USB 2 Hub I've ever encountered. I like the weighted base and clean design. I use these on my I7/1156 Sabertooth rig. The two give me 14 connections and don't crowd my desktop with hardware. I plan to add another soon. Between eternal drives, wireless devices and network adaptors etc I never would not be without them. I love the fact that they stay where they are put and don't wind up falling off the desk. If you want a real value in hubs, GET THIS GUY !

Cons: None at all except I wish there was a 14 port version. And I wish they made a USB 3 version of the same design.

Other Thoughts: I also wish Rosewill could get me a downstream connector for my USB 3 Platter.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works!

Pros: It works. A lot of ports (more than I'll probably need).

Cons: None comparatively. See other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: It has the same issue that all of the hubs I've used have. Unless they put lead in the bottom or provide a way to screw it to the desk, the connected cables are going to move the hub around easily. I typically end of taping the cable from the PC to the desk to provide stability.

4 out of 5 eggsA decent hub

Pros: Has been a good hub; I've used it mostly for external drives and game controllers. Plenty of ports and comes with a power supply. Doesn't seem to affect file copy speeds. It's red!

Cons: Didn't bother with the stand (mine was pretty wobbly). Could use a bit more space between plugs for those of us with fat flash drives. (More the top three than the sides.)

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure there's a great solution for having a variety of USB devices that you switch and/or charge often, but this one is OK. At least we've almost unified the various cords!

5 out of 5 eggsgreat product!

Pros: Works great what can I say other than that it's a usb hub.
Has lots of ports which is great.

Cons: Be careful not to spill soda in the top ports like I did. (still working though)

2 out of 5 eggsPoor quality control

Pros: The base product works as advertised, at least on the four ports I've tested. (I didn't have a need for the three under the dust cover.) It's compact and cute.

Cons: The power supply failed about a week after delivery, causing a reverse current flow that prompted my machine to cut it off entirely. Unplugging the power supply restores it to usability, though of course options for a multi-port bus-powered hub are constrained.
