5 out of 5 eggsGood solid PSU

Pros: Great price on sale plus rebate and more than enough power for my build with a GA-MA785GM-US2H mother board, etc.

Cons: none yet

Other Thoughts: For those that received this PSU dead in the water, I thought mine was dead too. Then I noticed that the 115/220V switch was not all the way over to the 115V side. Flipped the switch all the way and it's been nothing but cruising ever since.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA Also

Pros: Could have been a nice PSU if it worked. Sleeved cables.

Cons: DOA

Other Thoughts: Must be some bad manufacturing on this specific model, I see a lot of people are getting these DOA.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Light? Actually that is probably a con.

Cons: Does not come with very well bundled cables like Corsair...but for this price it was expected. What was not expected was for it to just not work at all. I spent well over 7 hours tinkering with my new computer trying to figure out why my power button was not working. In the back of my mind I was afraid it was a dead power supply or motherboard. Finally I got the guts to steal the power supply from my fiance's computer and try it out...computer fired up right away. So I knew it was my PSU that was DOA. This thing is light and cheap, don't waste your time.

Other Thoughts: Thank you Newegg for being awesome and taking my RMA at no cost. They get 5 eggs. It is why I love doing business at Newegg.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

1 out of 5 eggsFan failure-company ignores requests for assistance

Pros: It didn't blow out the motherboard BIOS or components.

Cons: Everything else.

Other Thoughts: Don't be fooled by the wrapped cables on this PSU, it is cheap junk made in China. The fan began ticking months ago, and recently failed completely. I thought the ticking was from a case fan which is not critical so I let it go a while. Thank goodness my motherboard has a heat alarm so I became aware before it was too late. I am within the 2 year warranty but phone calls to the company offices in CA lead only to voicemail and nobody calls you back. Email to the corresponding address also goes unanswered. Avoid this brand and go with Antec or OCZ. You can't afford to take chances with the PSU.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for any inconvenience. The power supply can be replaced under warranty. If you wish to contact us, you can contact us M-TH 8:30 to 5:30 PM F to 4:30 PM PST. 2 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Sleek, simple, and quiet -- when it's running properly.

Cons: The fan started "ticking" within 5 hours of first power-on -- not a good sign!

Other Thoughts: Bought this PSU to power a new workstation computer I created for a friend. After all the parts were in place and Windows 7 was installed on the machine, I left it to run for a couple hours with Speedfan on to check core temperatures and the like. When I returned, I awoke the computer from sleep only to hear a maddeningly consistent "tickticktick"ing noise. It reminds me of the sound my old PSU made when it was on it's last legs, and yet it's only been running for <5 hours! It was very cool and quiet before SOMETHING hit the fan, so I'll pop the top to make sure nothing's in the way of the fan before I RMA.

3 out of 5 eggsit's been working

Pros: Depending on where you read the voltages: solid. Has been working for some time now powering a P5QPro, 4GB, 2 IDE opticals, 2 SATA HDD, HD4870, and myriad other stuff with no problems. Appears a very solid middle-road PSU.

Cons: Feels light, but provides decent voltages.

Other Thoughts: Moved this PSU as I sold the base system it was running. Current system is AMD Athlon X2 5400+, 4 GB OCZ Platinum DDR2, Asus M3A78-CM. Previous HD4750, second SATA HDD, Second IDE CDROM had to be removed to boot stable. Onboard video, removal of other drives= stable.
I have another PSU handy that may power this rig, if not, I can get one.
250W Co^&@( PSU powered this board, and periphs, excepting the vid (9600GT) with no probs. Started noticing some issues yesterday, and chkdsk noted some drive errors, but still got probs.
Pull, clean, and reseat all other devices to MB, still got problems.
I remember when no-name PSUs lasted for almost as long as I have been tinkering with computers (around 86)
I will update review with results from different PSU.
I think I bought this one from Fr&^% locally, cuz I can't find it on NE history.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Easy to install. Pressure clip molex connections are great not accidental unplugging. Bought to build a rig for one of my friends.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this to anyone needing a 600w power supply.

3 out of 5 eggsIt's ok.

Pros: Cheep 500w power supply.

Cons: Kinda light, which tells me that it isn't as good as several others I have owned.
Cables are too short to do good cable management.
Wish it would have been modular, but for the price it isn't bad

Other Thoughts: If your going for a cheep 500w power supply, but this one. If you want a good one but a modular one and probably more that 500w.
I only bought it because I needed one and it came in a combo deal with a case I was buying.
