4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Got this for a not very powerful build, has done its job so far without any issues.

Cons: Since this product is almost a year old the price/performance ratio has dropped and you can probably get better for the money

1 out of 5 eggsWaste Of Money

Pros: None

Cons: Did not work at all, as soon as i plugged it in it started smoking. Do know if it was just my power supply or if this line has problems.

Other Thoughts: Read Reviews Before You Buy

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We are sorry to hear you are having trouble with our power supply. Please make sure to connect the proper 4+4 cable to the motherboard's cpu 8 pin connection. Plugging in the 6+2 can definitely cause something like this to happen. We are not quite sure what quite transpired in your specific situation though, would you be able to contact us so we can troubleshoot the situation and rectify it?

4 out of 5 eggsCooler Master 500w PSU

Pros: Quiet fan, low temps. plenty of plugins for drives and such. cables may be a tad short but made it work with what is supplied in a CoolerMaster Glite case. Great Buy for the price.

Cons: power plugins for a graphics card are somewhat limited....1 6 pin. but knew that when i ordered. with other poor reviews and moderatly low power output im wondering now if it will be good enough to run a R9 270 Gfx card, will edit when they are in stock and in hand.

Other Thoughts: Im currently running an A4-5300 3.6 GHz ddual core AMD APU processor on an ASUS F2A55-M LE mother board with a 400ish GB HDD, a DVD/RW lightscribe drive, 1 1TB USB powered external drive, and 3 LED 120mm fans, USB wireless headset transmitter, USB wireless mouse transmitter. USB powered G510s Logitech gaming keyboard, and i also use the USB ports to power my phone chargers (x2) mouse charger, headphones charger, kindle charger and a 4 port USB charger (total of 10 USB ports, 9 if you count the Hub takes up 1 port) and i have yet to notice any problems. curious how this will go with installation of a graphics card though.

2 out of 5 eggsMay have been cause of a lot of my issues

Pros: it has worked a while..altho many problems in build

Cons: EggXpert rates this psu at Tier 4. Tier 5 is bottom of the barrel. They say "Tier 4 - Not Recommend for stressful situations. May not be able to put out full rated power above room temperature, and may slightly fail to meet ATX specs."
2 eggs because it hasnt burnt out yet. Will be upgrading video card so that could change.

Other Thoughts: I have had motherboard issues and GPU issues since the build and wonder if this is part of the reason.

2 out of 5 eggsI'm disappointed.

Pros: It worked, for a while. Ran all the hardware I asked it to.

Cons: After 1 & 1/2 years of working properly, I started smelling a burning plastic smell coming from this unit.

Other Thoughts: I haven't changed any hardware config since I build the machine. I'm not overclocking anything, and I've only got 2 drives, vid card, 2 sticks of ram, CPU and 3 fans in the box. Everything is standard. This is a 500w supply. My house stays between 68-72 degrees 24/7. There's no reason this should break down so soon, other than it was moderately defective off of the line.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

Pros: For me, it is quiet. Although I have heard from others that it makes a bit of noise, may just be some faulty fans, not difficult to replace. I have had mine for a year February 2014, running with 2 hard drives, a 125w AMD Phenom II x4 965, a factory overclocked GTX 650 2gb and it has had no problem powering all of this while playing games and recording all at the same time.

Cons: The cables are really short. Made with Micro-ATX in mind. In my ATX mid tower case, the cables can barely reach.

Other Thoughts: I highly recommend this PSU for anyone on a budget. I throw this into every build I design and have witnessed 3 friends purchase it and have quiet working gaming computers.

3 out of 5 eggsLoud fan, works, mediocre support

Pros: Works

Cons: Fan is loud and doesn't appear to have multiple speeds as claimed on the box. Seemed to run full speed all the time.

Coolermaster support kept trying to get me to return to the merchant after I contacted them. I gave up and I'm just keeping it as a hot spare to get me between power supplies.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace a Thermaltake TR2-600W that died. It is a much louder fan (bought it based on the claim of multi-speed fan). When the replacement Thermaltake appeared (Thermaltake stands behind their products), I swapped it out and peace and order was restored to the family room (it was in my media PC).
