5 out of 5 eggsOwned since March 2013 Rarely turned off NO PROBLEMS!

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Thermaltake TR-600 Power Supply

Pros: It works great and supplies good power to all of my devices in my rig!
I havent had even a hard drive die connected to this unit.
no bsod's nothing at all and its still quiet..

Cons: None so far, were almost at the 2 year mark!

Other Thoughts: I dont know why everyone is having soo much trouble, did i just get a good unit? or is it possible everyone isnt doing their math as to how much power each component needs and getting the right size for such? i have 5 Hard disk one of which is a SSD, 8 Core Amd 8150, With Liquid Cooler,Geforce 640GT,Tv Card, and More and im still stable.

1 out of 5 eggs2nd unit now has coil whine

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Thermaltake TR-600 Power Supply

Pros: Works great, when it's working.

Cons: I RMA'd my initial unit just a month or two after I bought it for squealing/coil whine. I've had my second unit for just over 6 months and it just developed the exact same problem. I recently found a site that ranks certain power supplies and this one was in it - almost at the very bottom in terms of reliability. Run. Run far away.

1 out of 5 eggsStay Away

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Thermaltake TR-600 Power Supply

Pros: -Lasted about 18 months before dying.
-A great many connecttors

Cons: -Lasted about 18 months. This is NOT acceptable. Most of the extremely cheap power supplies last longer

Other Thoughts: I used to buy a great deal of gear from Thermaltake. I believe they used to be a really good company. Now, something has gone wrong. This power supply is an indication. Why should it just decide not to fire up one day? No fire like others have had, but still it should last better than this.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
We apologize about the negative experience you have had thus far with the TR2-600. We always strive to provide PSUs that last, but unfortunately defects do occur. This is one of the reasons we back our PSU with a 5 year warranty so that any issues can be resolved through warranty service. Please contact Thermaltake Customer Service and we can have the PSU replaced for you.

5 out of 5 eggsNo Issues for me

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Thermaltake TR-600 Power Supply

Pros: Quiet, easy install, and works

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The frequency of my computer crashes and freezes seemed to increase as I added accessories. A site that estimates power needs suggested a 450 Watt power supply for my setup. Yikes, mine was only 250W. Sure 600W is overkill, but it leaves me room for more growth.

5 out of 5 eggsvery pleased

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Thermaltake TR-600 Power Supply

Pros: Easy swap out on my 7 year old computer. Very quiet.

Cons: none so far. just received it today.

Other Thoughts: My first swap out of a power supply. Just like putting in a new wiring harness in a car. Old power supply was fine. Just updating the computer and needed more power. After rebate it is hard to match this units price vs. power.

5 out of 5 eggsSilent

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Thermaltake TR-600 Power Supply

Pros: Best power supply I have ever used. Dead silent while running, even when I push the machine to its limits (which probably only draws about 350-400W. Voltages are stable and so is the machine, what more can I say.

Cons: Only 600W may not be enough for some.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat price

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Thermaltake TR-600 Power Supply

Pros: mid to high wattage, good appearance, great quality

Cons: not a gold certified? not that 80plus implies higher quality.

Other Thoughts: great power supply, plenty of plugs, plenty of overhead for affordable crossfire/SLI.

one misconception most people dont realize is the 80plus rating is a certification in efficiency, and not build quality, hence the quality of parts isnt lower, they just arent selected to be a more precise circuit, thus saving you money.

5 out of 5 eggsPower Supply

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Thermaltake TR-600 Power Supply

Pros: Cheap. And despite the fact that it is not even bronze, and after using it daily for almost a year, this beauty has not given me any kind of problems. I don't know why everyone is saying that these burst into fire but mine (and my friend´s which is exactly like this one) haven't had any kind of problems. Beautiful!

Cons: Its not even bronze. We might have gotten lucky that we haven't had any problems.

Other Thoughts: GTX 660
AMD 8530

1 out of 5 eggsHeck, doesnt work

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Thermaltake TR-600 Power Supply

Pros: Its a power supply.

Cons: Bough two of those as they were on sale. Put both of them in two computers with 6950 as the card., and both of them almost caught fire after 1 week of use.

Both of them had heavy smoke coming out with an odor of burnt plastic and the cables were extremely hot to the touch. On one of the two units, the fan started doing loud noise.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

The PSU should have no problem with a singular 6950 GPU. No sign of any stress or overload.
Contact Customer Support to discuss your current spec and connections to the PSUs and to replace your PSUs through our warranty service.
Please contact support at your earliest convenience.

5 out of 5 eggsThermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Thermaltake TR-600 Power Supply

Pros: I posted a review of this PSU back in 12/2012 and it still works perfectly. I just recently upgraded to the EVGA 850 G2 and my TR-600 still works as it did out the box. I have it put away as a back up. It's been running 24/7 since I purchased it back in 2/2012. The unit has went through countless brown outs and black outs and still ran perfectly and never had a single fan issue.

Cons: Wish it was full modular or semi.

Other Thoughts: Fantastic PSU, Since I bought it over 2 years ago it's been in 3 different cases and works just like it did out the box.
