1 out of 5 eggsIS MISSING ITS 20TH PIN ON THE ATX

Pros: None so far, didnt get to test it, read the cons.

Cons: So I get the PSU, I selected 7-7 day super egg saver shipping, but it comes on the 3rd day. I got really excited to use it, as my current PSU is very low quality, and unlike this PSU, is very ugly. It came with a lot of cables, all of which were very long, and the 24 pin ATX power connector has cable sleeves on it, making it very high quality, but this is where the luxuries end. As I examined the 24 pin ATX power, I saw that it was missing its 20th pin, rendering the fancy and high quality cable useless. I hope I can get a new one, and I hope shipping it back wont be to much of a chore. This my 1st thermaltake product, and im disappointed, but hopefully the replacement will impress me.

Other Thoughts: Ill give Thermaltake another chance because the build quality of this PSU was good (Minus the missing 20th pin).

1 out of 5 eggschirping

Pros: Somewhat quiet when operating properly

Cons: Fan developed noise after an hour of use. Located the problem. There's a shim under the o-ring on the fan shaft under the sticker. Removed it and problem gone.

When i upgraded my video card from a 6570 to a gtx 560 which draws much more power, the psu started whining and chirping and crackling when under graphical load. This has gotten worse since i installed the card, to the point that playing skyrim is unbearable and scrolling in firefox produces a sizzling sound. I think i've located the problem at the transformers. if they could be filled with epoxy it might remedy the problem, but that isn't at all practical to do.

Other Thoughts: Do your research and get a quality unit for 40 bucks more. You won't regret it.

5 out of 5 eggsCan't beat it with a stick.

Pros: 3,000/3,000! Smells AMAZING! Nothing too special to say about a modular PSU. But this will do it all for a nice price.

Cons: Electricity is powerful, and can be dangerous! Always use caution when handling a power supply. Always plug the PSU into Surge Protector or a GFCI circuit receptacle when connecting the tributaries to the components.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good PSU

Pros: Lots of connectors for SATA. 2 12V rails. 5 year warranty is way better than most companies (usually it's only 90 days or a year at most).

Cons: Bit noisy. Has a high pitched drone, even when oriented properly (ie. fan facing inside of case)

Only one fan

Thermal Take rebates are only as Amex giftcards.

only rated as 72% efficient

Other Thoughts: Don't bother figuring any Thermaltake rebates into your purchase decisions. They never take any responsibility for the rebates, and always pass the buck to the fulfillment company.

The fulfillment company they go through only issues them as Amex gift cards. Seeing as very few stores accept American Express, and even fewer accept their pre-paid cards, the rebate is rather pointless. This goes double in Canada, as Amex is even less commonly accepted here.

1 out of 5 eggsno other way to put it ... this one's no good at all

Pros: Unfortunately at this point none,... really.

Cons: Fan rattling and rumbling, really a light weight unit. My old 430 watt Thermaltake Power Supply it twice the piece of equipment this is.

Lasted long enough to put me out of Neweggs return policy

Pust me in mind of one of those 6000 Watt Car audio amps the size of a matchbox you'd mount under your dash.

Other Thoughts: What would make me ok with Thermaltake would be for Thermaltake to pay the ship to and from for the warranty.

It's unfortunate. I hate to see anybody lose money given my distaste for it. I just don't see a good reason for me to lose money for having purchased a defective item.

I understand from time to time there are hiccups. Given the arrival of the upgraded model I'd say Thermaltake is fully aware this happens to be a bad unit.

So ... How 'bout it Thermaltake? Pick up my return ship and get a unit to me as described?

4 out of 5 eggsGood case

Pros: Breathes well with plenty of airflow. Front USB 3.0. Fits long video cards. Plenty of room for my HDD's with cooling fans and SSD. Stand offs line up with MB.

Cons: Minimal cable management. The SATA connectors extend to the side panel.

Other Thoughts: I've had this since this past summer and have no major complaints. I did vacuum the dust out of the front filter material which sucked part of the material out to the point where I could not put it back so I just took it all out. I had the front cover off recently and I either accidentally disconnected the HDD light or it stopped working. The included fans weren't too bad but I installed quieter fans for the front, rear, and side. For the price I paid I'm very satisfied with the case and would buy it again. I would recommend a modular PSU with this case.
