2 out of 5 eggsI Would NOT Recommend for Crossfire/SLI

This review is from: Thermaltake SMART Series SP-750M 750W ATX 12V V2.3 & EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: -Was able to run my moderately overclocked crossfire AMD 7950 gaming computer for a while
-Mostly modular
-Cables were long enough for my needs

Cons: -Started shutting down my computer instantly a few months ago (due to a lack of power) whenever I ran a game or gfx benchmark (see below)
-Ugly sticker art on the unit

Other Thoughts: I would NOT recommend this for any crossfire/sli because this unit quickly degraded for me over just 2.5 years of use. I did a good amount of research when I bought this power supply, and I knew 750 watts would be enough for my setup. And for a good amount of time it was able to run my crossfire 7950 setup with moderate overclocks on GPU and CPU as I had anticipated. But that didn't last...

A few months ago my computer started shutting off when I was playing games (like Witcher 3). I determined this was because the power supply was not able to handle my computer's power load any longer. I found this odd because I hadn't changed any hardware in a while, nor did I change my overclocks. I knew it should've been able to handle the load, so I determined that the power supply was degrading. It wasn't supplying the same amount of consistent power that it had just a few weeks prior. If I tried to run a gfx benchmark (the sames ones I had run for years), my computer would shut off instantly. Again, this did NOT happen for 2.5 years on my hardware, but the power supply started degrading a few months ago and is now unable to handle the same hardware.

I've since gotten a more powerful power supply from a more trusted brand, and everything works smoothly again. I will not trust Thermaltake power supplies again. It should NOT be degrading so much in just 2.5 years.

1 out of 5 eggsDead

This review is from: Thermaltake SMART Series SP-750M 750W ATX 12V V2.3 & EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: None

Cons: It died a little past the first year I bought this in July of 2014 here from Newegg and it died today thank goodness it is still under a three year warranty.

5 out of 5 eggs750w Modular: Update, 2 years later

This review is from: Thermaltake SMART Series SP-750M 750W ATX 12V V2.3 & EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: was at a very nice price when i picked it up, ~$80.
runs very quiet.
stay cool even with heavy 1440p gaming going on. Corsair 500R w extra fans helps with that.
cables are easily managed and tucked away. 500R also helps with this. mostly modular.

Cons: very ugly graphics printed on the side facing out.

Other Thoughts: i wouldn't spend $115 on this 750w version but if you can get it below $85 it's a good deal.

running my:

i7-4790K @ 4.6GHz
2x 4GB DDR3 2400
8GB 290X
2x 2TB, 2x 1TB SATA3 7200rpm HDs & 2x 256GB SSDs
Thermaltake Water 3.0 Extreme
2x 120mm & 2x 140mm fans
Corsair 500R case
+ external USB 3.0 drives plugged in

with no problems.

1 out of 5 eggsBroke

This review is from: Thermaltake SMART Series SP-750M 750W ATX 12V V2.3 & EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: I own 2 of these. One works, and is a great .

Cons: The second one broke two months after recieving it and it has been a NIGHTMARE to try and get fixed I used to recommend Thermaltake to Everyone, now after dealing with their Customer support to get my 5 rear warranty Covered I won't be using them in anymore builds.

Other Thoughts: I used to be a Thermaltake Fan boy but after the Run-Around I've gotten on my warranties from both Newegg and Thermaltake they have lost a loyal customer

5 out of 5 eggsEnough for my i7 & two gtx 770s

This review is from: Thermaltake SMART Series SP-750M 750W ATX 12V V2.3 & EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Flat modular cables
Price I guess
lots of cables included

Cons: Non yet, but maybe it could look better.

Other Thoughts: I knew I was pushing it when I decided to buy a second gtx 770 but it's been a few months and this PSU has not skipped a beat. Did plenty of gaming, benchmarking, torture testing and some light overclocking.

5 out of 5 eggsThermaltake SMART Series SP-750M

This review is from: Thermaltake SMART Series SP-750M 750W ATX 12V V2.3 & EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: I've used many Thermaltake power supplies in the past, all good, and this one is no exception. Runs an i5-4690K, a GTX770 superclocked, and 4 hard drives no problems. The flat wiring and the ability to plug only the cables you need in to the PS is great for wire management.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsNot bad

This review is from: Thermaltake SMART Series SP-750M 750W ATX 12V V2.3 & EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: works well. super quiet and powers a system with a superclocked GTX 770 with ease.

i love the ribbon cables. cable management is a breeze.

mine says 5 year warranty on the box.

Cons: unreasonable MRSP, so you have to catch it on sale.

Other Thoughts: I bought mine form another merchant for about 1/3 of what Newegg is charging. $110 is too much for this unit. $80 would be a better price because of the 5 year warranty. or $70 if you get the new version with a 3 year warranty.
