4 out of 5 eggsVery Effecient, Good Price, Only 2 Year Warranty

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-1000AE 1000W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: I was pleasantly surprised with this PSU. It pulls alot less power from the wall than many bronze certified PSUs. 3, count em, 3 pairs of pci-e is a great selling point. I got this for around $70 after the sale price and rebates, for a gold certified 1000w can you ask for a better price?

Cons: Took off one egg because the warranty is shorter than most other brands for this PSU. Does that imply something about its longevity? Perhaps. Otherwise great PSU great buy

Other Thoughts: If you can get this for anywhere near $100, do it!

5 out of 5 eggsA overkill for my needs

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-1000AE 1000W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: 1000wats
small
quite

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Overall I'm happy with this power supply. It is an extreme overkill of power for my needs but it was a good price. Why get 650watts when 1000watts was the same price? Works great no complaints.

5 out of 5 eggsyears of abuse and still working great

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-1000AE 1000W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Well it has been in many of my rigs, it has ran 3 way sli gtx 260's and 3 way sli gtx 280's, and the 3 gtx 460's in many different CPU's configurations! I seen a few bad reviews but I own two and a friend owns one and they are all working great.

Cons: I have not any regrets, I got it for a temp PSU and it has never been replaced cause it works so well

Pros: Lots of cables and very quite,

Cons: PCI-E Cables could be longer.

1 out of 5 eggsterrible customer service

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-1000AE 1000W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: It is a gold rated power supply

Cons: I bought the PS on 12/13/2013 , It ran well for about 2 months, then while playing BF4 it died. No problem it happens. As instructed by Raidmax I emailed them the problem to have an RMA issued. No reply. I sent two more emails with no reply. I sent a forth email from a different account just incase the emails aren't getting threw. I called and left messages with tech support and customer service to them return a call to me. It now have been three weeks with no response from them at all.

Other Thoughts: I know you get what you pay for, but this isn't a cheap PS. Maybe time for Newegg to drop the Raidmax line if this is the way Raidmax is going to treat their customers.

Manufacturer Response:

2 out of 5 eggsBad Luck

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-1000AE 1000W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: - Great price for a 1000w PSU (Black Friday sale)

Cons: - Faulty PSU

Other Thoughts: I got unlucky with this PSU. It was working great for about 1 month. I started to have random shut down problems with my computer I couldn't understand why because all of the hardware was checking out just fine. No BSOD. One day I turned on my computer and I heard something not normal. I looked inside and a capacitor was arching on the motherboard. After immediate shut down, I mailed out the Motherboard thinking that it was faulty (broken at that point anyways). While it was out Gigabyte was great at helping me out with this motherboard, they said they had never seen this before and sent the board out to R&D. They said that it was the PSU that caused the problem. When I received the new motherboard back from Gigabyte I tested the PSU on the new motherboard and it wasn't powering anything anymore.

Long story short. This PSU fried my CPU, Motherboard.

I'm sure this is a fluke of a part to get but none the less it still happened and is a possibility for it to happen to anyone.

RAIDMAX sent a brand new unit out, and is so far working well.

AMD 8350
Gigabyte GA 990-FXA-ud3
Radeon R9 270x
Patriot 16GB 1866

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
We're sorry that the first PSU created some trouble for you.
If you have any other concerns or questions in the future, please send a email to rma@raidmax.com for faster respond/service.
We appreciate you choosing Raidmax products.
