3 out of 5 eggsOk PSU

Pros: Relatively cheap and works well 95% of the time. Good for many PC setups and stll functions decently after nearly 4 years of use. Plenty of cables.

Cons: Occasionally (every several months) the PSU will make horrifying clanking sounds for a couple of days. Sometimes the fan will slow down or temporarily stop working, overheating the PSU extremely quickly. You might have to violate the warranty and open up the PSU to clean it every once in a while, or to rearrange things.

Other Thoughts: The PSU is decent, but I probably wouldn't recommend it. I'm sure there are better options out there.

5 out of 5 eggsHad a few months works fine

Pros: Was cheaper than most other 700W PSUs. Modular is nice.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Heard rumors they can go bad. No problems so far. Will update if anything bad happens.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice power supply

Pros: Easy to deal with because of modular design. It was harder to take the old PSU out than it was to install this one. Plenty of power cables for everything you need. Most I didn't even hook up to keep the case uncluttered. Nice!

Cons: None so far.

1 out of 5 eggsgood unit until died at 60 days

Pros: I got this unit as part of a kit.
Having assembled the computer, it worked well.
It had a good selection of connectors.
Ran quietly during short life.

Cons: Then it was too quiet. It died 2 months after I received it.
I called newegg, since more than a month had elapsed, I must contact the manufacturer, and the phone support person gave me a # to call.
The guy who answered the phone said can't do; I must email raidmax w. receipt.
I emailed raidmax with the receipt from Newegg.
No response. After being out of town for a while, still no response.
I have a dead power unit, and raidmax does not respond.

Other Thoughts: I'll never buy a raidmax again.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
We are sorry about the PSU issues you're having.
If you like to email us, we're more than happy to respond ASAP.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please send a email to rma@raidmax.com for faster respond/service.
We appreciate you choosing Raidmax products.

4 out of 5 eggs4 years and just now showing its first signs of trouble

Pros: Has been going for 4 years with little problem.

Cons: One of the modular rails went out 2 years after purchase (so outside of the warranty period). If there is any power connected to it, the PSU will kick itself off before the Windows OS can load. This kit came with plenty of cable adapters so the problem is no biggie to not utilize one modular rail in my case.

Other Thoughts: It served its time well powering my computer, but I will be now be looking at PSUs with a longer projected life span.

3 out of 5 eggsBuyer Beware

Pros: Cheap, get's the job done. So far so good on PSU #2. Nice modular connections.

Cons: Never got mail-in rebate on this PSU or the one before it, Both Raidmax brand PSUs.

Other Thoughts: Bought this to replace another Raidmax PSU I bought at a local big name electronics store, which died only months after purchase. Both came with a mail-in rebate which I never got. The old PSU was under warranty and contacting Raidmax resulted in giving me the run around. I ended up just buying this to replace it. The second PSU is running fine with no issues but i'm disappointed in customer service and support.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
First we like to thank you for your review.
We are sorry about the rebate probelms that you are encountering.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please send a email to rma@raidmax.com for faster respond/service and we'll see what we can do for you regarding the rebates.
We don't process the rebates ourselves, we outsource it to a company that handles rebates.
Again, we appreciate you choosing Raidmax products.

1 out of 5 eggslasted 2 years 4 months

Pros: Worked without issue for just shy of 2 and a half years

Cons: Completely stopped working. Never had a high load ( i5 2500k , 8gb mem, 7850 2gb 1 ssd 1 hdd). Contacted raidmax directly for rma service or support. They said they have a two year cut and dry warranty and that I should (figuratively) pound sand. replaced it with a seasonic (which I should have got in the great place

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsTotal Gabage

Pros: Cheap

Cons: It is a worthless piece of trash. LED DOA and after an hour of use a loud pop came from the PSU. Never again, I was a little sketched out about buying it after doing some research on Raidmax PSUs and for good reason they are garbage. Do your research there is overwhelming articles about this. I wish I would have before I invested in this product. Personally, I hope new egg will stop selling this company's PSUs.

3 out of 5 eggsGood While It Lasted

Pros: Lasted about 3 years and 2 months, which is considerably beyond the 2-year warranty. The modular connectors are convenient and make a neat installation, and the blue led light is nice.

Cons: Its life ended suddenly with a horrendous, internally contained explosion that I thought must've ruined the motherboard and/or the CPU, but they survived in good condition. It's only a bronze-rated power supply, so the components probably are lower quality than a gold- or platinum-rated power supply.
