5 out of 5 eggsgreat Value

Pros: love the ability to remove cables not being used (modular)
If you are trying to get a reliable power supply that may be used sli or crossfire then this is it

Cons: not cheaper

Other Thoughts: with power supplies if you buy a good one you can use it in as many as 3 builds so don't get a cheap one.

1 out of 5 eggsNew out of box: Dead

Pros: None

Cons: Didn't work. Day one straight out of box and it is completely dead.

Other Thoughts: Newegg has been great so far, I got the parts way early. (I will put thought on the refund, or at least exchange, process when it is done.) But now I have a half built unit I can't disassemble and no power supply. DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT.

4 out of 5 eggsSufficient for many uses

Pros: 80+ Bronze means it won't sock your power bill as hard even when it's not being fully utilized.

Semi-modular cabling reduces case-clutter to only what is needed, no additional wiring to tie-back or otherwise fool with.

Nice blue LED casts a solid-blue glow within the case (if fan is mounted toward the interior) and through the exhaust vent to any surfaces behind.

LED can be turned off, if so desired.

135mm fan is very quiet, so far it has not been heard over the CPU/GPU/case coolers.

Includes a floppy-drive power connector, just in case you still need one.

Easy to install and connect, cable leads are clearly labeled.

Cons: Only has two (2) 12V 23A rails (a total of 46A) which will probably work for most single-GPU applications. However, since the 2nd 12V rail is most likely also used for all HDDs, optical drives, SSDs and any supplemental case fans/lighting, there may not be enough amperage on that rail for another GPU. Anyone wanting to use this for SLI/Crossfire needs to take this into consideration before buying. Other comparable units often supply 10 (or more) amps than this device. Again, for a single-GPU, this unit should be sufficient.

Only one dedicated dual-connector for PCIe, with two 6+2-pin connectors since most newer GPUs have either two 6-pin or a 6-pin/8-pin power setup. Unless you're running two older GPUs with only one 6-pin or 8-pin connector each, you'll need to connect your second GPU using Molex adapters, which are not even included. In this configuration, also refer to the previous Con above. Only one included dual-PCIe connector is almost a tacit acknowledgement from the manufacturer that this unit is primarily intended for single-GPU applications.

Manufacturer's rebate is required to realize the full savings and value of this device (at this time.) A casual poll of buyers of various products reveals they'd most often rather save 1/2 of the offered rebate amount upfront off the purchase price, than have to jump through hoops and wait 8-12 weeks for the entire amount. Also, almost all feel advertising an item at the post-rebate price is deceptive, since the initial payment price is higher than that listed. In a nutshell, customers hate rebates!

Other Thoughts: After a few weeks, this seems like a solid unit for running a single-GPU gaming rig, but only time will tell if this device will hold-up in the long run.

Had the total purchase price for this PSU been any higher, I would have had to deduct 2-Eggs, but for a single-GPU application this is a pretty good value at this price-point.

The PSU that was previously in the same rig (not a RAIDMAX product) blew overnight quite unexpectedly and took out the entire motherboard with it. There were no odors, performance issues or any other indications of trouble, the system simply went into Sleep mode one evening and never woke up again; quite odd, indeed. Thankfully the CPU, RAM and HSF were all salvageable, so the repairs were limited to a new motherboard and this PSU (plus the requisite 10+ hours reloading the OS and all software since the new chipset was an upgrade.) I include this only as a warning to others, as the failed PSU was a bargain model, but ended up costing quite a bit more than what was initially saved. The failed PSU had been in service steadily for ~2 years, but still should not have failed nearly so quickly nor suddenly. TLDR: You still get what you pay for.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: 700 watts of power for less than a hundred dollars i was sold.....

Cons: amperage is so low i dont know why there even is an sli option you cant support one GTX 660 on this thing because of the amperage, RMA'd

Other Thoughts: it wouldnt be so bad if you needed lots of wattage and your only using a 650(or radeon equivilant).

4 out of 5 eggsGood service, works well

Pros: Power supply worked fine for a while (~8 months). The replacement power supply, however, was sent promptly after RAIDMAX received the defective power supply.

Cons: Power supply failure. After about 8 months, computer had trouble turning on a couple timesbefore the power supply finally failed.

5 out of 5 eggsRaidmax Blackstone 700w

Pros: This was a great choice for me, i put together my first pc with this. Managing the cable mess was my biggest concern so i fed all the cables through out the case before finally attaching them to the psu and bolting it in. It was very easy to manipulate the cables that way and the end result was a very clean and pro looking case. The psu itself has run strong and with out issue for over a year now with constant use.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Thank you Paul, and Newegg TV for your 3 part how to build a PC video. I will never buy prebuilt again.

The setup this has been running for over a year.
