3 out of 5 eggsLove Seasonic, but ...

This review is from: SeaSonic SSR-360GP 360W ATX12V v2.31 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Seasonic was first to emphasize efficiency. For this, I will forever put them first when looking for a PSU purchase.

Cons: Died in a lightly used NAS box after two years. RMA process, no reply after two days and will need to wait at least for two-way shipping. Bought a Rosewill today, will put the RMA returned Seasonic into another computer assuming I get it on the 5 year warranty.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Charles, Sorry for the inconvenience this issue has caused you. I hope everything is now in process for your unit. As for warranty on the replacement unit, the length of time is the remaining time on the original G-360. If you have questions or concerns, please contact me at newegg@seasonicus.com Thank You.

4 out of 5 eggsnon modular

This review is from: SeaSonic SSR-360GP 360W ATX12V v2.31 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: 80 Plus Gold
360W enough for any basic build with room
Seasonic

Cons: Its not modular. if you read the title, you know this. however i was originally considering the 550W version, but after some calculations, i realized that was more then enough. decided to save myself $20 and get the 360W, which is not modular, but I never noticed. It stinks because Modular was something i absolutely wanted, building a small M-ATX build, however, it wouldnt be worth it to pay the shipping to return it, AND pay the extra $20 for the 550W AND wait, since i need the PSU now lol.

Even the 450W is modular, I dont really understand why this model isnt. considering it would mostly be used in small builds, meaning small cases which done have room for cabled they dont need

Other Thoughts: as i said, just pay attention, its not Modular like all the others in this series. No complains about the Actual PSU, however I just built the computer today. Ill post back IF anything goes wrong, otherwise assume everything is all set as far as the PSU itself goes.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Ian, Sorry, I just saw your review.... Please note the G-360 is not modular is because modularity would add another 2cm to the depth of the case and we wanted this unit to have the smallest footprint possible. Thank you. If you have questions or concerns, please contact me at newegg@seasonicus.com Thank You

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

This review is from: SeaSonic SSR-360GP 360W ATX12V v2.31 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: *Haswell low-power ready means lower electric use, lower bills
*Incredibly efficient, 90 plus GOLD rated
*(Almost) no noise, dang near silent [edited for language :) ]

Cons: *more expensive

Other Thoughts: Got this for my mini-itx build, and it's great. I'm glad to be finally decreasing the wattage of my computer after all these years. I used to have a dual SLI setup, but forms the core of my new build. Paired with a Haswell processor and a NVIDIA 750 TI, this is a gaming-friendly PSU that also doesn't require excessive amps. I highly recommend it!

5 out of 5 eggsNice Gold PSU

This review is from: SeaSonic SSR-360GP 360W ATX12V v2.31 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: This is my first SeaSonic, but I've been happy with it. I was looking for a PSU that supports the Haswell low power state and was Gold rated. This power supply nicely does this, and at a low price! I'm also very happy with how quiet it is, even though the airflow in my case is not at all ideal.

Cons: This has lots more cables than I need and my case is very small, so I ended up having to block one of my case fans with all the cables (including cables from other components). I could have paid a lot more for a modular unit to help out, but I'm still glad I didn't.

5 out of 5 eggsLower wattage highly efficient

This review is from: SeaSonic SSR-360GP 360W ATX12V v2.31 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Bought this unit for my Dad's computer. Old FSP power supply had cheap china caps that failed.

I was looking for a high efficiency, lower wattage unit with quality components. This PSU fit the bill.

Cons: I have nothing bad to say about this PSU right now.

Other Thoughts: It is quiet and has been working fine behind my Dad's UPS.

4 out of 5 eggsMay require an adapter cable (not included) for modern systems

This review is from: SeaSonic SSR-360GP 360W ATX12V v2.31 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Efficient PS for a modern, low voltage HTPC system. ATX Form Factor

Cons: Could not connect 3 SATA devices in my CORSAIR R200 case. The 3 devices were: a SDD, a HDD and a Blu-Ray burner. Per case design, each of these items were mounted in a different area of the case, but only separated by a few inches. The burner up top, the SSD middle, and the HDD bottom and sideways. The two cables with two SATA connectors each would not reach to the 3 different areas. Luckily, I had a Molex to SATA power adapter cable from a previous CORSAIR power supply purchase. It was able to use it with the Molex supply line to power my 3rd device.

Other Thoughts: SeaSonic - how about including a Molex to SATA power adapter cable in the box like CORSAIR does with their units? Or, making the spacing between the connectors on the same power supply line a bit larger for modern case designs. New cases have changed a bit with the inclusion of SSDs. Since this unit will power a modern Haswell CPU, perhaps the cabling should be updated also....

5 out of 5 eggsReduces power consumption

This review is from: SeaSonic SSR-360GP 360W ATX12V v2.31 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: I replaced an Antec power supply with this SeaSonic Gold Certified PS in an existing home server and my idle power consumption dropped by 15 watts. I also swapped out 6 smaller hard drives to two 4TB green drives and cut idle power by another 40 watts.

Cons: none so far.

4 out of 5 eggsGood power supply

This review is from: SeaSonic SSR-360GP 360W ATX12V v2.31 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Quiet, energy efficient

Cons: The description says the cables are "detachable" and "semi-modular", but this power supply has standard cables, which the box and images in the Newegg listing also state.

Other Thoughts: Not much to say about a power supply. It is quiet, and according to the specs it is very efficient.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Zeke,

I am sorry about the confusion about the cabling. The 360w unit you have purchased is with normal cabling. I have checked the NewEgg description and though it did not say it is Detachable DC Cables, it also did not specify it is normal cabling. Maybe this is the confusion caused as the 450w version of the same series with is detachable cabling. Thank you and again, sorry for the confusion over this matter.

5 out of 5 eggsVery well built

This review is from: SeaSonic SSR-360GP 360W ATX12V v2.31 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Heavy (This is good!)
PCIe cable
quiet
low power consumption compared to bronze rated PSUs

Cons: They did not offer a modular option. This would be nice because most people dont need both sata cables.

I have the PCI and molex cables un hooked and would rather remove them if the psu was modular.

Other Thoughts: I bought this psu to replace a raidmax 530W (bronze rated). My idle power went from 56W to 40W with just a PSU change. The lower wattage brings me closer to peak efficiency and this one is gold rated. I am very satisfied.

The fan on the psu is quiet enough to where it added no extra noise to my system

A8 APU
Asrock micro ATX a75
8gb gskill
3 hard drives
40W idle.
