4 out of 5 eggsDecent PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR CXM series CX750M 750W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: *Affordable (got mine for $80, $60 after $20 MIR but good luck with those)
*Modular where it counts (Who needs a modular 24-pin/8-pin? You're going to use them anyway.)
*Very quiet operation, it is inaudible over ambient noise unless 6 inches away while in idle. Impossible to hear when in the case even at load.

Cons: *Fairly sure first one came with a fault OPP (Over-power protection) as it would shut off my PC at load but I wasn't about to void my warranty to open and investigate. I panicked at first thinking my system may have been too much for it to handle, but confirmed with a 760w PSU I found that this wasn't the case. Second one I got (after the ol' Best-Buy-Switcheroo, I'm not paying shipping for a faulty product) ran flawlessly. Completely OC'd and decked out my system, the thing doesn't even break a sweat. Docked one egg for these shenanigans, would have docked more but the thing runs great when it's not broken.

Other Thoughts: I find it hard to believe a PSU could pass inspections if it fails a simple test like max wattage. Step up your QC, Corsair.

1 out of 5 eggsNot bad i suppose if your lucky..

This review is from: CORSAIR CXM series CX750M 750W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: The PSU was perfect the leads were perfect length and all the wires are all black and don't have the braiding around them, they are flat leads and i think they are nice and they could hide really well and fit in tight spots well. and the PSU looked really nice..

Cons: Tho it looks really nice an all but i had mine for 5 days and it died .-. only 5 days... i was very disappointed in Corsair with their build quality on them i was expecting alot better from it with the Corsair name on it (I know for sure i wasnt overloading it or anything because the PSU i had in it before was only a 520W PSU).

Other Thoughts: I cant say i would recommend this PSU to anyone. Tho there are people that may have better luck than me but. don't want this happening to you, having a power supply die in less than a week. Needless to say i ordered a EVGA PSU and hope i get a longer life out of it than 5 days ...

1 out of 5 eggsFried my Mobo

This review is from: CORSAIR CXM series CX750M 750W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: price, I guess?

Cons: KILLED my rig

Other Thoughts: Upon installing (yes, correctly) this psu, the unit surged and fried my board and possibly some other components.

Corsair Tech support was closed on the weekends, of course, and they are terribly slow at getting back to me regarding my damage claim and keep telling me "you'll hear from them today." For the sake of your sanity, steer clear of this manufacturer! I work from home and what started as a simple modular psu upgrade turned into an absolute customer service nightmare which is costing me revenue every minute my rig is down.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat power for my needs

This review is from: CORSAIR CXM series CX750M 750W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Modular- only use the wires you need which is preferable in my server. Ample number of SATA power connectors for all my hard drives. Plenty of power- this server has 6- 2TB drives, 1- 160GB drive for the OS, GPU, quad core CPU, 8-port a/v DVR capture card, DVD burner and a plethora of fans so the increased amperage was greatly needed. It will be put to the test 24/7/365.

Cons: The PSU case is slightly larger than other PSUs, or at least the one it replaced, which required very slight case modification in my 4U server case, nothing really. Not worthy of a single egg deduction.

Other Thoughts: Not only does it fill my requirements as of now, it will also be of use in the case of a motherboard/CPU upgrade down the road.

3 out of 5 eggsDead and dead again.

This review is from: CORSAIR CXM series CX750M 750W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Routing in my midsize case was easy. Had all the connectors I needed for hard drives and Radeon Video card.

Cons: Died in 6 months. RMA took 2 weeks. New one died in 2 hours. It was kicking out 9.5 v on the 12v rail.

Other Thoughts: I probably won't buy another unless this next one lasts until the computer dies.

3 out of 5 eggsSystem freezes

This review is from: CORSAIR CXM series CX750M 750W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: The first post I gave was five eggs. This one however is less. It froze my computer repeatedly. Many people have had this issue. Great supply if it did not do this.

Cons: The freezing would mainly hit in games, but there were also instances within normal use like doing homework or watching movies. Since replaced by a different PSU things are much better. Be careful with this known issue

Manufacturer Response:
