5 out of 5 eggsGreat quality budget PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR CXM series CX500M 500W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Plugged it in and it worked. Been running on a build now for a few months and hasn't had any problems. Powering an i5-4670K with a GTX 750 Ti and 8 GB of RAM.

-Semi modular design makes for great cable routing
-Quick and easy setup
-Worked the first time.

Cons: -Semi modular design. But the ones that aren't modular, you need anyway, so whatever right? Not sure why this is ever a complaint, but some people do, so I listed it.
-Wasn't more wattage :P

Other Thoughts: Great budget power supply for mid-range builds. Not loud, powers the computer, just works.

If you are afraid of it being DOA, DO NOT BE AFRAID ! Newegg is awesome enough to make the return process so easy and friendly i promise you, you wont have any inconviences with this product. Corsair at its best

Cons: none, plenty of power, modular, efficient. just awesome

5 out of 5 eggsVery Quiet, Solidly Built

This review is from: CORSAIR CXM series CX500M 500W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Very quiet, stable power. Good build quality.
Nicely wrapped mainboard power.
Motherboard power cables of generous length for full ATX (GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-UD3H in mini tower).
Customer service.

Cons: MB power can be a little thick for routing. Still, got it to fit behind my MB tray in an old Antec PerformancePlus 660 mini tower case. Newer cases are better designed for routing.
Distance between SATA power connectors can be a bit restrictive, but at least you get two such cables.

Other Thoughts: Needed that second SATA because of distance to a new device to be added. Couldn't find it (modular, unused, stored). Inquired how to buy a replacement, thinking perhaps it was originally missing.
Response from Corsair: Send a copy of your receipt, we'll send a cable.
Sent a copy of the 7 month old invoice (newegg email), and they shipped out not one but two modular SATA power cables. No questions. Wow, thanks!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome lil PSU !!

This review is from: CORSAIR CXM series CX500M 500W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: It's a corsair, and even though it's one of the cheaper versions it has held up pretty well in my new HTPC/GAMER. Currently running a 3570K at stock with a GTX 760 and 8GB of RAM. Has not skipped a beat and it's pretty silent. Got it on sale at around 49.99$ back in Dec/2013.

Cons: N/A, at 50 bucks I actually feel like I ripped corsair off.

3 out of 5 eggsQuiet at Idle, Noisy at Load

This review is from: CORSAIR CXM series CX500M 500W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Modular, quiet at idle and low load. 2x8-pin PCIE power plugs. Single 12V rail. Haswell-ready.

Cons: Noisy under heavy load (~300W est.), could use a couple more SATA power plugs.

Other Thoughts: My CX500M is very quiet at idle, but under gaming loads (i5 4670K + GTX 760), the PSU fan whirrs up and become the single noisiest component in my build. By comparison, my older PC P&C Silencer Mk III 550W unit is much quieter under similar loads, and that's even with my Corsair unit in a padded case and the PC P&C in a non-insulated case. Would recommend this for low-powered builds only, for which it is a great option.

1 out of 5 eggsDead On Arrival CX 400M

This review is from: CORSAIR CXM series CX500M 500W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: None

Cons: Power supply arrived dead.

Other Thoughts: I plugged in the power supply and the fan never started up (horrible sign). So then I hooked it up to my LED strip and still nothing. LED strip works on a different power supply I own. Started the RMA process. Already not going well. Clicked to print a UPS shipping label. Charged my credit card yet never saw the label to print. Not a good first experience with Newegg. That was the first and definitely last time I ever purchase a Corsair power supply.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Power Supply

This review is from: CORSAIR CXM series CX500M 500W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Modular. Can mount with fan either way. Plenty of connectors.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Nice to slim down on cords, especially with smaller case and less room for management. Using in Rosewill Line Glow and would have been a nightmare with all cables in. This made it manageable.

4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: CORSAIR CXM series CX500M 500W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Does what it's supposed to.

Cons: Denial of $20 mail-in rebate. I will no longer purchase Corsair products as this is the second MIR that has been denied by Corsair.

5 out of 5 eggsMakes for a beautiful build.

This review is from: CORSAIR CXM series CX500M 500W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Provides more than ample power for any reasonable system build.

Modular cables make for easy routing.

Unit appears very sleek.

Cons: I don't have a side panel on my case and cannot appreciate the enhanced aesthetics this power supply permits.
