5 out of 5 eggsWorks, Quiet, Had No Problems With It

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500M 500W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC CP-9020059-NA Power Supply

Pros: -It works and works well.
- I've never actually heard the fan; even when it's at speed.
- Even though it's not completely modular, it does help to have the modular peripheral cables.
- You can plug in the cables you need and leave out the ones you don't, which makes this PSU great for cable management.
- I've had no problems with it so far. There has never been a time where I press the power button and my computer has not turned on.

Cons: - It's not actually completely modular. Every cable can be removed except for the ATX 24-Pin (motherboard power cable) and the ATX 12V 8-Pin (CPU power cable), which are the harder, less flexible cables you have to deal with.
- It should be said that the CX series of PSUs from Corsair seem to have some kind of stigma for being a bad choice, but I think it should be said that any popular product will have a few buyers that weren't happy.

Other Thoughts: - This PSU is good for people who are beginners at building computers, or are building a sturdy mid-range Gaming PC.
- I have an "Intel Core-i5 4690 Haswell" (not K) with a "MSI GeForce N760 TF 2GD5/OC" (Geforce GTX 760) and this PSU (unsurprisingly) has no problem with running it.

3 out of 5 eggsCORSAIR CX series CX500M 500W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC CP-9020059-NA Power Supply

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500M 500W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC CP-9020059-NA Power Supply

Pros: It works
Modular

Cons: It is very loud. I can hear it over my GTX 750 on max fan, and all 4 of my case fans. It wasn't this loud when I first got it, it seems the quality of the internal fan is not too great.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500M 500W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC CP-9020059-NA Power Supply

Pros: Cable management is made very easy with the detachable power cables.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: For the price I paid this is a very good power supply, be sure to check how many watts your computer actually needs before buying.

4 out of 5 eggsSupplies Power - no issues in first month

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500M 500W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC CP-9020059-NA Power Supply

Pros: Modular was preferred to simplify swap out of a dead Antec supply
Quiet noise level

Cons: I ran into one issue that cost me time and having to pull in a tech from a retailer to help me out. My former supply was an Antec modular so was hoping to leverage all the wiring sitting in my case, simply plug and play with the modular concept. Unfortunately, it wasn't as smooth as planned because the existing wires faulted out the P/S. The technician figured out I had to use the Corsair wires supplied for whatever reason... so save yourself time if you run across this issue, something simple but rather stupid!

5 out of 5 eggsGotta go Modular

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500M 500W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC CP-9020059-NA Power Supply

Pros: -500W with Promo rebate made this $40
-Modular plugging was fun

Cons: I'd really be fishing for negatives here...

Other Thoughts: I got this for a buddy's build... I stockpiled old parts from my rig when I upgraded for myself. Eventually needed a PSU and scored this on sale with rebate. We recently put it all together and this was a breeze to hook up and route everything. He's running with a XFX R7 360 2gb and having fun with that. I even have a 750W Corsair PSU in my rig, not as modular as his but overall satisfied with the bronze PSU's.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing!

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500M 500W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC CP-9020059-NA Power Supply

Pros: For me, I give everything about this PSU an A+. To others, this PSU may not be enough though, which is why I said "for me". If you will be using this light video editing and light editing, then this PSU is for you! This PC is almost always on because I basically use it every day, all day and night if I am not in class or busy. I have never had a problem with it and I have been using this for weeks now. I use programs like Adobe Premier and a few others to edit and upload HD videos to YouTube and I have never had a problem.

Cons: I do not have anything bad to say about this power supply!

Other Thoughts: Here is my build:
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/7wgDBm

Now this PC runs via the built-in GPU on the motherboard, so you may have to consider a different PSU if you will be using a dedicated Video Card, depending on the type.

Would I buy this again and/or consider this power supply to someone else? Definitely!
