2 out of 5 eggsdetails do count

This review is from: CORSAIR CXM series CX430M 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Nice and quite excellent power and looks good extrude from a mini itx case.

Cons: The idea of a modular supply is cable management
The cable are so poor in design and length that a non modular would have made a acceptable install. What a mess.
Buy a non modular or another modular not this one

Other Thoughts: I will stick with a non modular with tiny round cables!!!!

5 out of 5 eggsNice unit

This review is from: CORSAIR CXM series CX430M 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Bought it for a mini-ITX HTPC build. It provides plenty of power and the fan is dead silent. Bargain price. Great value. 5-eggs

Cons: The cables are too long for a mini-ITX case so I had to stuff them in the CD/DVD mount. I can't really fault the Mfr for the cable length. I knew ahead of time this would be an issue. No eggs docked.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat power supply

This review is from: CORSAIR CXM series CX430M 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Sounds good for a power supply and is very clean looking. the modular design work great for case management, i have the NZXT source 220 with all 6 fans running and a AMD 12 core APU and this power supply does the work. i have nothing bad to say about this power supply its great value for the price you pay. if you are looking for something that can run duel Graphics cards this is not the PS fro you in my opinion but if you are doing a low end gaming rig this PS works great.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: the only thing i didn't like was the 2x4 pin connectors, you cant pull the 4 pin connectors completely apart witch is not that cool but not worth taking an egg off.

5 out of 5 eggsCorsair CX430M

This review is from: CORSAIR CXM series CX430M 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Reliable brand and had a rebate, $30 when all was said and done. Runs my server using ~40W of power at "idle".

Cons: The SATA power connectors are right angled so they may not work with your case setup (I had to use an adapter). The cords are also a bit rigid, to be expected with lower end PSUs but I felt these were tough to wrangle into a small case.

Other Thoughts: This is a multi-use home server machine. "Idle" is 2 empty Minecraft servers and a rather busy seedbox. Other services running include FTP, RDP, WINS, Active Directory with file and media shares.

CPU: Intel Pentium G3420 3.2Ghz Dual Core
MoBo: ASUS H87I-PLUS Micro-ITX

5 out of 5 eggsSoild PSU for the Money

This review is from: CORSAIR CXM series CX430M 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Inexpensive. Semi-Modular. Quiet overall. Decent build quality. 3-year warranty.

Cons: None to really mention. It smell bad for about 3 days upon install, but went away. I'm sure it had to do with some of the glue etc.

Other Thoughts: I own both the non-modular CX430 & the CX430M. Both have held-up well for over a year now. It's has the lower-end Samxon & Teapo caps (which are getting better IMHO) I owned a Mushkin PSU (Topower Build) that had the same caps & never had an issue.

Corsair CX series use to be built by Seasonic & CWT. These were better PSU's. But, overall you really can't complain for a $30.00 PSU (AR) You can always buy a Seasonic branded PSU for a few more dollars!

4 out of 5 eggsPower Connecter Blues

This review is from: CORSAIR CXM series CX430M 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Well it does what a power supply is supposed to do. When it's connected properly...which was a problem...see cons. It's quiet, runs cool, has enough plugs & output for the build I used it in.

Cons: The 24 pin connector clip would NOT reach far enough down on my MSI A78M-E35 mobo to lock it down & because of the downward weight of the cable would disconnect the power to the board...never a good thing! I ended up having to trim some off of the shoulder on the mobo socket retainer ledge in order to fully engage the 24 pin retainer clip, and then added a piece of tape around it just to be sure. Runs fine & is not an issue now, but some of the problems people are having with this power supply could be due to the clip just not seating properly?

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure if this is the MSI motherboards problem, or the power supply, referring to the power plug not matching up? I do know that the only other time I've ever run into a problem with a motherboard atx power plug not seating was with another MSI mobo in the distant past.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad for the price

This review is from: CORSAIR CXM series CX430M 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: *Looks nice
*Semi-modular
*All but the 24-pin cable are flat and black
*Pretty quiet
*Rear on/off switch
*Good quality (for the price)

Cons: *Fan was obnoxious for a week (more in other thoughts section)
*Only 2 SATA power connectors per wire
*Only 1 6+2 PCIe power connector (would have liked to see another one, but understandable for the wattage)

Other Thoughts: About 7 months into my grandma owning hers (I'm making the review for her so you guys will know), the fan started rattling really obnoxiously, and the only way you could get it to stop is to hit it and then turn the computer off. Then it would be fine for another day. It did this for a week, and now it works flawlessly, and it's even quieter than it was before (while moving the same amount of air).

1 out of 5 eggsDead on Arrival

This review is from: CORSAIR CXM series CX430M 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: None, since it didn't work.

Cons: Put together my build, go to turn on the power....and nothing. Fans spin once, and that's it.
Paperclip test showed it was dead. Very disappointing!

2 out of 5 eggsIncompatible with Motherboards

This review is from: CORSAIR CXM series CX430M 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: The power supply is functional.

Cons: The power supply has compatibility issues. On a MSI AMD 754-pin motherboard with a 24-pin main power connection and a 4-pin 12V connection, the power supply would not power up the motherboard. On an ASRock AMD AM3+ motherboard with a 24-pin main power connection and an 8-pin 12V connection, when the motherboard was RESET it would lock up requiring the power supply to be switched off and on to clear. These problems did not occur on the motherboards when other power supplies were used.
