5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: CORSAIR AX series AX760 760W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Nothing but good things to say about Corsair. More than enough power for a High end Gaming or Content Editing PC.
Clean Power. Perfect PSU for high overclocks.
Just works.

Cons: CPU 8pin is a bit short considering Most Users are going to put this in a Mid tower or Full tower. Using a Corsair 400R there is a good way to route this cord but is not long enough by about 15cm.

Other Thoughts: I would think that on a Corsair Case that this PSU would be able to hide the CPU cable behind the motherboard but there is no way I can do it.

5 out of 5 eggsSo Far So Good

This review is from: CORSAIR AX series AX760 760W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Fully modular, produces little to no heat, temp controlled fan setting, long cables, standard size, looks good

Cons: wasn't free, HA

Other Thoughts: I purchased this power supply for my new PC build. When purchasing a power supply, I was looking for a fully modular setup with a very quiet fan. This power supply has yet to turn the fan on while in "hybrid" mode (small switch on the unit for fan control). I ran some stress testing for several hours to see the limits of other hardware and the fan never came on.

The modular cabling is very convenient. Every cable is modular on this unit. I like the fact that I can unplug the cables without having to undo all the cable management in order to remove the power supply. This comes in handy when doing a full cleaning of the case.

5 out of 5 eggsAX760M

This review is from: CORSAIR AX series AX760 760W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: -Platinum 80
-SLI ready
-Full modular
-Many many many (did I mention many?) slots for modular plugs
-Quiet as a whisper
-Almost 10 year warranty!
-Corsair!

Cons: -Fairly expensive (got mine on sale for $120ish though)
-Somewhat confusing for beginners (you have to plug in BOTH 24 pin connectors to the PSU, not only one---not mentioned in manual)

Other Thoughts: Everything comes in fabric bags.... no plastic. THAT'S how you know something's quality. I am a proud owner!

1 out of 5 eggsunbelievable

This review is from: CORSAIR AX series AX760 760W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Nothing

Cons: after spending a day off assembling my new rig, I found out that the power suppl is defective....I've wasted my time with this horrible thing when i should have gone for a better unit. Not only will i have to wait weeks for a replacement I also had to pay for returning shipping. I don't see why i should pay when I am the one who has been cheated.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Mr J,

We're sorry for the inconvenience, please give us a call at 888-222-4346 and we'll be more than happy to assist you with your replacement.

5 out of 5 eggsSilent Assurance

This review is from: CORSAIR AX series AX760 760W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Fully modular with all black cables. Fan does not spin under idle loads, and whatever noise it does make at load is easily drowned out by other fan noise in the system, so it is pretty much inaudible. Well-built and feels solid, as proven by 80PLUS Platinum efficiency and 7 year warranty.

Cons: Fairly expensive compared to similar units from other vendors.

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for, and it's an essential rule of thumb to never skimp on the power supply when building a PC. With Corsair's excellent PSU reputation and the 7 year warranty on this unit, I never have to think twice about whether my PSU will let me down. It simply keeps calm and powers on. Some complained about coil whine on these units, but that issue may have been resolved with the newer batch, as I have heard absolutely nothing from the one I have.

3 out of 5 eggsfanless + silent + cooling

This review is from: CORSAIR AX series AX760 760W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Temperature cool. Fanless mode is very quiet. Have yet to reach silent mode and cooling mode. Plenty of sata connectors (I need 8 sata and 1 floppy, this psu has it and then some. Modular, so cable management is easier.

Cons: Computer would shut off randomly, could be 1 hour or just 5 minutes. Then computer would not turn on at all. Attached psu to another motherboard, same problems. Turns out the cpu and pcie cables come loose or fall out at the modular (psu) side. Temporarily, computer is working after seating the cables more firmly.

Other Thoughts: Much downtime and troubleshooting to find the culprit. Hopefully the computer will run for more than an hour tomorrow. Even though the specs say 2 eps connectors, they are 4+4 pin; which is good because I am running a socket 775 which only has 4 pin cpu connector.

2 out of 5 eggsPower Surges

This review is from: CORSAIR AX series AX760 760W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Nice modular design. Good efficiency. Quiet.

Cons: After a few months the PSU started to surge. My Asus Z87-A would reboot my computer to protect the motherboard from the surge. The power coming into the unit is coming from a UPS that is in perfect working condition so it is not the incoming power. I replaced the unit with another brand and have not had one surge since replacement.

Other Thoughts: Without the Asus protective measures I would never have known that they PSU was bad.

On reboot the BIOS tells you that the power supply is unstable.

This review is from: CORSAIR AX series AX760 760W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: This power supply has a solid design, appealing aesthetics, and with the modular design allows for a very clean PC build.

This PSU came with plenty of cables for a wide variety of set-ups, and I have several cables left over for future upgrades/additions.

Cons: N/A
