1 out of 5 eggsDOA

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Solid looking. A lot of good cables. Size is good to fit my Dell XPS 8700.

Cons: DOA. Installed and turned on. The motherboard light lit. Pushed the PC power button, the new graphic board lit, but nothing else happened. PC does not start. Put back the stock PSU from Dell, everything works.

Other Thoughts: Based on others' comments, I should have tested it out before squeezed it into place. I will get a replacement to give Corsair a second chance. Newegg return policy is very good. On-line chat and got a UPS label to send the unit back. Will update once the second one arrives.

I noticed the reviews have more DOA comments recently. I wonder whether they moved the production and QA starts lacking. Corsair used to have very good products.

4 out of 5 eggsGood PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Able to power up all of my units and still had many left-over connectors for future use. Low power usage. Excellent PSU for a GOOD (not High-End) gaming build.

Cons: The thick cables and the excess amount of leftover connectors gave me a hard time cable managing. Not that big of a deal if you can make use of the space you have efficiently; I'm a first-timer here and I was able to adjust to my case's space.

Other Thoughts: It's a PSU, not much else to say. I trust corsair a lot so that's also why I bought it. I also recommend you buy NEW units, not refurbished ones.

1 out of 5 eggsCorsair CX750 ATX connection issue

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Would most likely work if it would clip into the ATX socket

Cons: During a build using the Corsair CX750 Power Supply, I also discovered an issue with the ATX connector not seating on the board. I checked the length and width of the plug with digital calipers and compared the measurements with a power supply plug that connected to the board with ease. Dimensions were the same. I then took a depth gauge, and measured the depth of the females on both power supply plugs. The female depth on the Corsair CX750 were 2mm shallower which accounted for the 2mm shortfall while trying to plug into the ATX connection. - Maybe from a bad batch - who knows. My customer will be sending the Corsair back.

Other Thoughts: Had to provide a stocked Power Supply so he could take his new PC home the same day.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear customer,

We're sorry to hear that you're having trouble getting the 24-pin plugged into the motherboard. We suggest putting the motherboard on a book or a hard surface, then take the 24-pin cable and push it into the socket. It may not work the first time but after a few attempts it should slide in like normal and the clip should snap into place. If you have any further questions feel free to contact us at 888-222-4346 or submit a support ticket at corsair.force.com.

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: none

Cons: Lasted me exactly 1 year, random reboot started and then random shutdown, and then I pulled it out before I fry my motherboard. Tested all other components, PSU came as the main problem.

Other Thoughts: now serves as a paper weight.

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Works for a couple of months

Cons: Shoots out sparks at you
Doesnt function after a couple months
Smells bad
Gets real hot

Other Thoughts: Built my own computer a couple of months ago using this PSU. Today it started smelling quite bad so I shut down the computer and opened it up. The PSU was producing the smell and way quite hot.

After letting it sit for quite some time, it cooled off. I blew out any dust or blockages that could be in it and attempted to turn on the computer. A loud pop, some sparks shooting out the back, and foul smelling smoke alerted me to the fact that this PSU is garbage.

Manufacturer Response:
