1 out of 5 eggsCheap psu that does not last.

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Nice while it lasted for nine months. I am NOT happy. Too bad I cannot rate this zero eggs.

Cons: I do not recommend this psu by Corsair the CX750. It died on me a few days ago. I looked up my Newegg packing list and was shocked to see I purchased this in Dec. of 2014. This is not good value. Even if you purchase this at a low price, what good is this psu? I just bought a new psu that cost around $129 so I would have peace of mind. I am so tired of buy electronic computer parts that break so quickly.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked for 4 days, sparked and died

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Cheap, when on sale. Highest amount of wattage I could get for 60 dollars.

Cons: Non-modular, broke after 4 days. Incredibly unreliable and costs far too much of my own money to ship this bulky product back to either Newegg or Corsair.

Other Thoughts: I just installed this 750 watt version into my new rig, which draws 510 watts at peak. Everything was set up and working fine, and then 4 days in it sparks, emits smoke, and dies. Paper clip test failed, basically dead after a few days of use.

Not quite DOA, but very close.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Has good raitings

Cons: This thing caused a lot of problems; it had intermitent problems with voltage flux. they claim to be on the upper edge of quality but it must be a marketing ploy.

2 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: It works and the price is OK.

Cons: I returned the first one I received due to an annoying coil whine at idle; it sounded like a high pitch beeping with occasional scratching. The replacement I received has the same problem, and is sometimes louder than the old one. I also had to pay over $60 CAD for shipping to and from Corsair for the replacement, and thanks to me being on the east coast it took a month to receive a new PSU.

Other Thoughts: Noise cancelling headphones can cover up the sound but it is quite noticeable when not wearing them.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty Great

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Have had this psu for about 7 months now an have run into zero problems. I got mine for about 70 bucks with a coupon code so that made it even more worth it. Has enough power for both of my gpu's, my 4 drives (3 stripped from older pc's) and my 95w cpu.

Cons: It's retail price of 90 dollars is a bit much for it not being even semi-modular but Iv'e never seen this product on site with no coupon code or mir so that's not too much of a problem. Besides, the psu is the piece of your pc you really don't want to skimp out on.

5 out of 5 eggsCORSAIR CX series CX750

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Great, works perfectly and it's quiet.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This PSU is not modular. So in the end I opted to spend some more money to buy a modular power supply. It's usually a bit more expensive but it's worth it.

1 out of 5 eggsPSU Failure

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: While it worked it worked well.

Cons: I am assuming at this point that I got a lemon as a little over a week in the case and it failed not 15 minutes ago. The smell it put off when it failed was foul and I was lucky to be in the room at the time to quickly unplug it. Miraculously the rest of the parts in the computer appear to be undamaged though I'm certain the lifespans on everything have been greatly shortened.

Other Thoughts: I've been dealing with corsair for many years in many different products they sell but lately their product quality has been slipping. I suggest that if you are concerned about this then I suggest going with a EVGA or even a Rosewill power supply, I've never had one of those fail on me and they seem to get pretty good reviews.

I bought this power supply as a cheap replacement for an aging PSU in my wife's computer, but sadly it lasted only a week.

I wanted to give this a better rating but as if fail so spectacularly after only a week I am afraid that I can not.

1 out of 5 eggsCorsair CX750

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: It works

Cons: It does work and has worked for the past year and a half, but...

After 2 rma's, every PSU, of this model, has the same problem. The default fan whines and if the back of your desktop is facing you, it is incredibly annoying. The only reason I am rating this 1 egg is because I've spent months in contact with Corsair support trying to resolve this issue. All they keep doing is sending me new units with the exact same problem even though I've explained that the only problem is the fan.

I fix computers for a living and one of my clients had the same issue with a CX850. It was out of warranty and we manually installed a new fan which fixed the problem. I explained this to Corsair and I was ignored. So again, my low rating is based more on Corsairs poor support and they're inability to solve my issue.

Other Thoughts: Point the back of the PSU away from you and you should have no issues. I rearranged my home office to accommodate this and I hardly ever hear the fan whine anymore.

3 out of 5 eggsOk PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: This specific model from Corsair is a great power supply as long as your not gaming, but for a basic computer user its great and I will explain why not for gaming below.

Cons: This unit does not like heavy loads. I have loaded up many games and every time I do it puts out this horrible coil whine which I don't notice much anymore but just beware.

Other Thoughts: Corsair Customer Service was really nice about me exchanging it for another unit of the same model to see if it was just a problem with that particular unit.
