5 out of 5 eggsAwesome PSU for the price

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Only slightly bigger than same size as my previous 550W PSU - fit right into my case.

More cables than what I'll ever need. Cables are easy to manage, as well.

Quite silent.

Cons: Only con so far is the clip on the 24-Pin ATX connector doesn't clip on all the way to my motherboard. Therefore, if you gently tug on the cable assembly, it'll pop out of the socket on the motherboard. Not a major con at all, but I figured I'd put it out there.

Other Thoughts: I bought this PSU to replace (and upgrade) my 550W since I'm doing a few upgrades to my build and was going to need more juice. I've had this PSU for roughly 27 days now, used daily, and works great. No complaints at all on noise or installation.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible coil whine

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Absolutely works within specifications, all voltages within spec.

Cons: Under any sort of significant load this power supply exhibited the _worst_ coil whine I have ever experienced. Until the replacement came in there were games and applications I simply could not run. Even with game audio turned up to high volume its piercing, pitching, oscillating tone was too distracting to deal with.

Other Thoughts: Attractive simple design, absolutely works within specs, but worth spending the money to get a PSU with quality components.

3 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: I know it's a great PSU, but it was DOA.

Cons: DOA.

Other Thoughts: Would rate it higher if I didn't have to RMA it back immediately.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks flawlessly, but cables are bulky

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Super-quiet
Plenty of cables available

Cons: Extra cables can be a bulky nuisance in smaller cases

Other Thoughts: I bought this to go with a new video card for my Dell XPS 8300. While it is working flawlessly (and my new GTX 770 is a beast), there's not a lot of extra room in the XPS case, so I had to cram all the unneeded power cables into an empty DVD drive bay.

I have no real complaints other than that, but if I were to do it again, I would have bought the CX750M modular version instead.

5 out of 5 eggsQuick & Easy to install.

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: - Very easy to put in, after removing my 500W corsair power supply.
- Little to no noise coming from it.
- The weaved material around the cords is a great idea
- Medium length cords provide enough length for a mid sized tower.
- Amazing price for a 80+ Bronze certification

Cons: None so far!

Other Thoughts: After having my 500W corsair power supply for 3 years, I was satisfied enough with it to upgrade to this, after I realized my GTX 760 Ti was causing shutdowns. Now, with this power supply, I have plenty of wattage to power my new graphics card, the rest of my computer, as well as 5 120mm fans. Thanks Corsair.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed after 12 hours

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Lots of cables, reviews well, looks good on paper.

Cons: Power supply ran great for 12 hours. I had enough time to set up my new computer before it just shut down and refused to turn back on. I was under the impression, as were several of my coworkers, that the mother board was the failure part.
I sent the mother board in for a replacement only to find there was no change in my inoperable computer with a new board. I contacted a friend for a backup PSU and this other PSU works perfectly.
Now, after waiting so long for a replacement board, I have an $80 paperweight that I can't return due to long shipping times.

I trusted all of the great reviews for this product, only to get one from the bad batch.

Other Thoughts: I hear great things about Corsair, everyone recommends them, but after an ordeal like this, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
