4 out of 5 eggsvery good value

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: quiet at low and medium power loads (not tested at high loads), able to put out rated power even well above 30 Celcius rated temperature

Cons: Not the finest brand capacitors (Samxon)

SATA connectors do not match those pictured on box but are slightly shorter and may not be long enough for disk drive cradles or a Seagate GoFlex.

4 out of 5 eggsOk I guess :)

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Reliable

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: It has been almost a year and I had forgotten to make a review. Anyways when I received this a long long time ago 2 of the power cables had the copper wire out of one of the back of the plugin so i can power like a disk drive :( Other then that It has been working very well and I still use it today

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: It worked for less than two years.

1 out of 5 eggsDoA

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Looks nice.

Cons: So, a little over a year ago I ordered this PSU in 500 watts and it died in 2 weeks. Corsair refused to give me my money back. Stupid me ordered this 430 watt supply hoping it would work out, but this time, the unit was dead on arrival. Because I waited 6 weeks to put it in my machine, I have no RMA option for a refund even though this unit is DEAD and I got literally no use out of it? I want my money back!

Other Thoughts: Really upset at Corsair products.

1 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Quite operation, good building quality.

Cons: This is a good power supply, but, the components inside the power supply are covered with some kind of chemicals; the fume with unpleasant odor are released when the power supply is turn on, more fume and odor will be released when the temperature of the components is raising after operated a while; the toxic fume caused me headache, and felt very uncomfortable. I couldn't handle the toxic fume anymore, bought another power supply and replaced the Corsair CX430, after installed the new power supply, no more breathing the toxic fume and no more headache when used the desktop computer. Suggest not buying this power supply.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what it's supposed to do

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: This PSU has powered my basic gaming build for over three years now, and it's worked like a charm since it was installed.

Cons: It refuses to make us breakfast.

Other Thoughts: The reliability of this unit has convinced me to select another Corsair PSU when I upgrade my machine.

5 out of 5 eggsI Stole This PSU!

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Rebate plus a coupon code made this thing 65% off! Good quality, if a bit basic. Good enough for a (very) basic gaming rig with a G3258 and a 7770.

Cons: It wasn't free? Really don't know why this field is still marked as required, Newegg.

1 out of 5 eggsAweful!

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: It works.

Cons: Noise from fan starts showing up after 1st week. The fan is making a grinding/rattling noise. This is getting progressively worse and occurs in increasing frequency! I believe the bearing inside the fan is failing.....

Other Thoughts: Thought Corsair is a reputable brand, but I guess I was misled!!

3 out of 5 eggsGrade C (as in Cx430) on A-D,F scale

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: 1-nice price (net of $20 rebate)
2-attractive appearance
3-low RPM 120mm fan
4-functional on at least one ATX motherboard with multicore CPU
5-80 Plus
6-quiet
7-3 year warranty

Cons: 1-pin 20 (of 24) has no wire or connector
2-misshapen (non-rectangular) exterior places PS mount holes for screws out of alignment with those in the case. I had to either hammer the case's PS positioning tabs toward the motherboard or elongate the case's PS mounting holes to enable installing the screws.
3-both right angle SATA connector cables have connectors oriented in same direction. This makes the cable from the connector at cable's end conveniently hang down from the device at the top bay of a vertical case adjacent to the installed PS. Unfortunately, this is backwards from optimal for devices in bottom bays (farthest from the PS), those which may be in need of the greatest available cable length simply to reach. The downward orientation means cable length is necessarily wasted going down from the PS past every connected (rightside-up) device on a single power cable to correctly orient each connector to fit those device(s) that are mounted in the coolest area of a tower case interior - its bottom.
4-rebate fuse is too short: materials must be submitted before end of 30 day free return period
5-cable wrap adjacent to 8-pin plug ends too close to the plug and is too tight fitting to relocate to adequately disconnect the two plug halves and allow the needed half to fit into the motherboard's 4 pin socket without pressuring adjacent components enough to possibly cause damage to them.

Other Thoughts: Made in China.
