5 out of 5 eggsOwn several, no complaints

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Purchased several of these over the years. The CX line is not top of the line-and not the best out there. But you should know that as a buyer. These PSUs are however workhorses and will get the job done. I've had several of them running in 24/7 home server units for years and had no problems whatsoever, as well as my personal desktop rigs. No complaints about these.

Cons: None-other than not being modular. (Solution: spend more money)

3 out of 5 eggsCorsair rebate denied

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Looks to be stable PSUs - I have three Corsair PSUs now running in my different systems. Efficiency good - doesn't draw more power from the circuit than the PC actually need.

Cons: Main power connector to the motherboard is always impossible to insert completely and may not go far enough to lock into place.

Bought this model since it was tagged with a mail-in rebate at Newegg. Corsair denied the rebate claiming it was the wrong UPC, however everything was mailed in correctly according to the requirements. I won't trust Corsair mail-in rebates anymore.

Two eggs removed because of these two issues.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Product

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Solid power for low to mid range computer setups. Have used this same model previously with success. Same model that my local pic shop sells, but Newegg has much better price especially with rebate.

Cons: Though not a issue in my mid tower case, could be cramped cabling for smaller cases as not modular.

1 out of 5 eggsNOTE % of LOWEST REVIEWS: 17% as of 5/11/15!

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: I like the way it looks. That's about all.

Cons: To date, this has been the worst PSU I have ever used. It failed on me catastrophically, producing disgusting fumes and possibly destroying my entire system. I am still investigating the damage. I considered the RMA route, but the cost of shipping is prohibitively high for such a cheap device, and Corsair refused to help. I am not sure I will buy another Corsair product.

Do not buy this PSU!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Very Quiet.
Connections are good and tight.
Wire braided cables help keep things manageable.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: After having had this PSU for almost three years the tight connection caused part of the plastic on one of the sata connectors to crack and break off and now it no longer stays in tight enough to power one of my drives. However, time wears at all things and it is a sort of thin piece of plastic to start with, so no eggs off for that.
All in all I really like this PSU it's preformed very well. It's survived three different builds (which is most likely another factor in one of the SATA connectors breaking recently.)
It was recommended to me and I'd recommend it to others.
