1 out of 5 eggsFailed straight out of the box

Pros: Corsair has awesome products for sure!!! I just got a bad egg.

Cons: Very frustrating!!! I cant afford to buy all my parts at one time, so I have been buying peace buy peace over the last year. So i finely finished my new build a year latter and find out my power supply is bad straight out of the box. (wow) what do i do now??? I paid close to $300.00 hard earned dollars for my AX1200 corsair power supply thinking i have bought the best. well now i have to go through the hassle mailing the thing to corsair. but first i have to find out how i can print my receipt for it since i miss-placed the one i had . my bad on that part. but on the good note the rest of my build is working ;). P.S. I'm sorry but Neweggs 30 day return policy is not fair for the above reason. If i could afford to buy all the parts i needed at one time it would be ! but I haven't hit the lotto just yet.

Other Thoughts: Have a nice day!!! ;)

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Corsair Customer,
We are sorry to hear that you are having an issue with your AX1200. I would recommend that you please contact our Tech Support team using the following link and they would be happy to help replace the unit for you through an RMA if need be.
http://corsair.force.com/
You will not need a receipt in most cases as the PSU should have a lot code on it which will let us know if the PSU is still under warranty. Also, the AX series has a 7 year warranty so you should still be fine. They can also be reached by phone using the toll free number listed on our contact page: http://www.corsair.com/us/company/contact/
Thank you,
Corsair Customer Support

5 out of 5 eggsrunning strong

Pros: I bought this for my BF3 build 2011 October and it' been running strong. I have it for a Corsair 800D case and the wires are long enough for that case that it wasn't a problem to organize it.

I chose this specifically because it was one of the few PSUs at the time running on single rail (which i read was more solid than spreading it on multiple rails) with the power range. Also I was building my comp for long term and did not want to go cheap on the psu.

It's powerful, quiet, decently modular, and matches my other corsair stuff :D

I know you can get lemons, and I was pretty hesitant to buy it because of the price and the few negative comments, but I've never had any problems. I haven't regretted it and I recommended it to a friend and he built his rig a few months after mine, running strong.

Cons: Cons... well... it's a bit pricey but imo worth it.

Other Thoughts: I've had a cheap psu that killed my comp, and dealt with cheap psu in general. not worth going cheap on the psu to save a few $. Long run, you can lose your rig. Though you don't "need" this specific psu, if you're building a high end rig, this is a PSU you can consider (out of the many now available)

build i5 2500k (currently stock), corsair 4x4gb, this psu, h100 cooling, ssd, 4 hdd, 1x gtx 670 ftw (previously 2x gtx570) inside a 800D case

2 out of 5 eggsNot Happy

Pros: I always look for Corsair products to buy.
I own the 800D case and very happy with it, and looks like i will be owning the 900D when available, Dominator Platinum are amazing..etc....
I had an HX1000, i still do ..what a great PSU, ran my 3way sli GTX480 without a headache.

Cons: I decided to switch to the AX1200 on 8/15/2011, wow what a headache its been since switching it has been rma'd twice and now that i have upgraded to 3 way Titans, its going to be rma'd again. First time it was an annoying high pitch sound after its on for an hr. Second time..same high pitch sound and then a "Pop" sounds, and now something is wrong with the fan and the popping noise is back and after a while the fan stops working and system shuts down.

Other Thoughts: Its annoying and very aggravating to rip all the wire ties on a water cooled system and swap out all the cables and on top of that pay for shipping sending the psu back...how much is this PSU going to cost me? Pass on the AX1200

5 out of 5 eggsOne of the best

Pros: The Corsair AX1200 power supply is one of the most efficient power supplies I have ever had , but it gets better. The DC output voltage load regulation was almost perfect with all the rails maintaining their voltage within a 20mV window from zero to full load, whilst keeping ripple/noise levels well within the permitted levels. The Corsair AX1200 power supply could be the best power supply in this class at the moment and it will take some beating.

My Pros

Excellent voltage regulation
80 Plus Gold efficiency
Low noise/ripple
Single 12V rail
Modular
Seven year warranty
Great looks
Plenty of connectors

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: The Corsair AX1200 temperatures are kept low thanks in no small part to the high efficiency (reduced heat generation) and fan speeds which never drop below the no-load speed of approximately 1250 rpm. The fan noise is relatively quiet and shouldn’t prove too much of a problem even when it ramps up to 1500 rpm at full load.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Dependability

Pros: Been through two of my builds and running strong for almost the 3 years. Can power everything I have in my full tower with room to spare.

Cons: CPU power cords length but fixed with extension cable.

Other Thoughts: Corsair is number one in my book of builds. I will choose Corsair before anyone else. Quality, Customer Service, and Reliability. Never have had to RMA!

4 out of 5 eggsWorks Great when you can plug it

Pros: Great Power Supply, meets all my power needs, 2x GeForce Ti660 SLI, 4HDD, i7 3930K and lots of fans.

Cons: Was missing the 2 EPS12V cables and instead I got 8 PCIE cables like other reviewers. So I couldn't set up my system until I got those.

Other Thoughts: I contacted Corsair through their Customer support page and send a message (not the RMA). I explained the situation and stated that I wanted to get those two cables ASAP.
I was contacted a day later by an RMA rep who indicated me to fill in the RMA form but not the send the unit back.
They shipped me the cables free of charge with a UPS tracking number. I've received them today (2 weeks after filling in the report) and everything works beautifully.

4 eggs, because of the bad Quality control at the packing facility, which set me back on my new system setup.

5 out of 5 eggsVideo card caught fire

Pros: Excellent product

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Got this to replace an 850W power supply that I thought was under too much stress due computer shutting off when gaming got predictably too intense. The actual problem was a defective video card (Radeon HD 7970 GHZ edition)and it caught fire after about 5 minutes of gaming with this power supply. Been running 3 days with no issues on an Radeon HD 7770 so the power supply definitely did not cause the fire.
