4 out of 5 eggsExternal mSATA drive

Pros: It's about the size of a box of matches. For the price, decently fast when paired with a good SSD. Super fast reads. Plug and play. Comes with an adorable tiny screwdriver and an extra screw is included (presumably for when you strip one trying to use the tiny screwdriver.)

Cons: I don't believe this supports trim. Don't get full rated SSD speed. Write performance can actually be pretty bad. It does get warm.

Other Thoughts: I bought this because I got a great deal on a Samsung 840 EVO 250GB mSATA SSD, only to find out that my computer only supports mini pcie. I picked this up at another retailer as a temporary solution, but I will probably grab a 2.5" SATA adapter as well, for full speed and trim support. I wanted to write a review because so far, no one has posted their read/write speeds. With the 840 EVO, on a z77 platform, it tops out at about 420MB/s read, which I was pretty impressed with. Writes topped out around 200MB/s, but is more realistically 120 or below. Still faster than any flash drive, but no where near the rated speed of 540 read/520 write, and nowhere near the alleged top speed of USB 3. For now I will just use it like a flash drive and install games on it so I can play them on both of my gaming rigs. All-in-all a pretty good buy for the money and a handy little box to have.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Small, metal casing

Cons: Died after one day.
I had installed a Samsung 1TB mSATA SSD and did a full format which took 12 hours. Keeping it powered on for 12 hours killed it.
The SSD is now installed in a laptop and works well

4 out of 5 eggsgreat!!!

Pros: its great because you can put a 1TB ssd in it and have it run as fast as the usb 3.0 interface allows and the hole thing is like 1.5 in by 3 in by like a centimeter! this thing is tiny!!!

Cons: the only bad thing I can think of that is bad (but it may be my computer...) is it sometimes will randomly disconnect.... don't know why.... I unplug and plug back in and its ok so....

5 out of 5 eggsCompact Enclosure

Pros: Fast chipset connects as (USB Attached SCSI Protocol)
Very tiny, USB cable is 6-8" no problem.
Drive secures msata drive well
After searching, not many mstat external USB 3.0 available

Cons: Totally enclosed, get very hot when imaging to drive
Normal use as WintoGo drive stays cool..
Disassemble and drilled ventilation holes top and bottom. Probably not necessary for Normal use.

Other Thoughts: Still the best enclosure I have found for my purpose.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Performance

Pros: Very small and board is secure with small inserts, which were no problem. Fast for a Msata board reconginized as USB attach scsi drive, when connect to good host.

Cons: No ventilation msata became very hot, Has to wrap in very cold cloth
to complete clone for drive. Drilled small vent holes top and bottom, problem solved, but loses an egg!!!

Other Thoughts: The drive is excellent and the solution to the problem for me only took minutes, however not all techs are well equipped. Still an excellent item and will purchase another soon.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Working well so far. I bought another brand of enclosure about a year ago and the msata drive rattles around inside, but the KINGWIN feels solid, no rattling.

5 out of 5 eggsReliable, Small

Pros: * Small Form Factor
* Durable design

Cons: * None

Other Thoughts: I bought one of these from another site, made by another company a year ago and decided I wanted some more. Couldn't find them. Found these instead. I bought 2 of them for the 2 Samsung 256GB mSATA SSD's I had retrieved from other hardware after an upgrade and I've been very happy with them. In fact, I've made them part of my critical data backup solution.
