4 out of 5 eggsSolid little PSU for short money.

Pros: If you do a little research, you'll find some reviews that indicate the technical reasons for this being a decent low-end power supply. Having purchased it on that basis, I've found it entirely capable of powering a modern Athlon II X2 that has fairly low power consumption. It's also quiet.

Cons: 4-pin CPU power connector. I purchased a 4-pin to 8-pin adapter to address that.

Other Thoughts: If you're pinching pennies and only running a lightweight system, this is a pretty good little PSU. I would not recommend putting it in anything that resembles a gaming rig, though.

Powering:
4GB Corsair 6400C4
Gigabyte MA785GM-US2H
WD Caviar Blue 320 GB
Athlon II X2 240

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't make the long run

Pros: Worth a shot for a budget buy?

Cons: Failed after a little over a year in a massive sparkling explosion out the back of the mesh part of the PS case, brilliant!

Now to find out if anything else got destroyed in my PC and I will update this review.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Reliable.

Pros: Follow up to my previous review. I've had it for a year and a half, and it's accumulated roughly 10,500 hours. Still rock stable, and quiet. The 2nd 12V rail has never been used. The graphics card CPU and everything all draw from one rail, so when playing games with full load it gets down to about 11.62v. Still rock steady though, no problems at all. It is dead silent.

Cons: It is not a single 12V rail.

Other Thoughts: Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 @ 3.6Ghz
Gigabyte GA-EP43-DS3L
4GB Patriot Memory DDR2-800
Powercolor Radeon 4670 512MB
WD 640GB Blue

5 out of 5 eggsStill silent cool and reliable

Pros: This is my followup, going on eight months in service now and still one of the best units for the money ive ever had. This is still THE quietest ps i have ever owned. Reliability has been flawless, but as the reviews show, you can always get a bad one from anyone. I would still choose this as my PS for most basic and some medium builds, unless the quality proves to fall dramatically.

Cons: None yet, you can spend less but this has been exemplary for the money.

Other Thoughts: As my previous review states, this unit was rigorously tested in a prominent pc publication, and it passed with flying colors, even delivering well above the stated wattage. The only negative was its efficiency -- a touch lower than some, but stability and cleanness of out put were both very good.

1 out of 5 eggsDEAD

Pros: It was quiet the short time it worked.
Now it's REALLY quiet.

Cons: I guess not working would be a con.

Other Thoughts: Unit had been installed for less than 4 weeks in a spare PC that's rarely powered up. I would say that the total time this unit has been powered up is about 10 hrs total. Last time I used it was about 7 days ago (PC is shutdown after each use...)
So simply being plugged in an electrical source killed the unit.

2 out of 5 eggsPower OK but NOISY

Pros: Works fine as far as providing power to the system.

Cons: About 2 - 3 months after purchasing, the PC started making rattling noises. At first thought it was the hard drive but traced it down to the fan in the power supply. Bumping the PC case used to get it to stop but now nothing I do can make it stop. Time for another power supply, this time with fan mounted on the back instead of the bottom.

5 out of 5 eggsAre you looking for a good value?

Pros: Clean, quiet and nicely built. For the price you won't find much better in a 450 given it's target purpose. It can deliver the rated power for extended durations.

Cons: Efficiency isn't high, but isn't bad like the units $5 less.

Other Thoughts: If you need more current on the 12V rail, like many modern builds with higher end graphics cards, the power may be a bit low. Works on a typical 125 watt CPU (Quad) and a graphics card that needs about 100+ watts with 3 drives. It is NOT overstated like cheaper units - they say 450, they do mean it.

5 out of 5 eggssolid psu

Pros: nice looking, 12v rails are good for my gts 250. 450 watt, 12v rail, and 2 pci 6 pins for 40 bucks, good deal

Cons: the sata cables are about 5 inches from eachother so i had to move my hard drive closer to my cd/dvd rom. the main 20+4 pin power cable is covered in mesh, which is nice, but it makes it super tough and i could barely put my side panel back on my rig cuz it stuck out so far,

Other Thoughts: good buy
