HighPoint’s industry-leading professional RAID storage host bus adapters for Enterprise Level Server and Workstation applications, provide unparalleled levels of performance. The RocketRAID 3500 series based on HighPoint’s TerabyteArchitecture and high-performing Intel IOP341 I/O Processor delivers enterprise-class SATA RAID 5 and RAID 6 performance (780MB/s read and 689MB/s write) for storage applications that need high bandwidth and high capacity sequential performance.

  • newegg Intel IOP341 (800MHz) - RAID I/O Processor The Intel IOP341(800MHz) I/O Processor is one of the industry’s highest performing RAID I/O processor engines for multi-channel SATA hardware RAID 5/6 controllers. The RocketRAID 3500 series of PCI-Express hardware RAID controllers leverages HighPoint TerabyteArchitecture and a powerful Intel IOP341 I/O Processor to deliver the industry’s leading RAID 6 performance with sustained transfer rates over 780MB/s Read and 685MB/s Write.
  • newegg HighPoint Terabyte Architecture (Stream, Saver and Guard) TerabyteStream leverages the power of the Intel IOP341(800MHz) to deliver unprecedented RAID 5 and 6 performance with an intelligent algorithm to manage multiple data streams of data concurrently and utilize adaptive readahead by anticipating if data blocks that will be requested in the future and read into controller cache. TerabyteGuard prevents data lose and increase data reliability with advanced hard drive inspection features utilizing bad sector repair and remapping. TerabyteSaver optimizes data protection with a battery backup and with write journaling prevent data loss.
  • newegg RAID 6 Dual Parity Portection The RocketRAID 3500 series offers a robust hardware RAID 6 protection, an additional disk drive failure tolerance provided by a second independent distributed parity scheme. It provides protection for missioncritical data from two concurrent disk failures. For instance, eliminating the risk of data loss if a second drive fails while rebuilding is in process. An optional Battery Back Up with integrated write journaling enhances data availabilitythrough rapid data recovery from power outage events.
  • newegg 4 SATA - In-1 via Multi-lane Connectivty 4 SATA - In-1 is aggregating four lanes of high speed SATA traffic into a single locked connection traveling through one cable. It significantly increases higher port count support and reduces the number of cables needed for a host adapter. Multi-lane connectivity delivers fast, secure, simple and cluster free designs that significantly provide better airflow and reliability in large storage systems.
  • newegg Vertical Application Tuning Vertical applications like NAS storage, clusterservers, supercomputing, backup and archival, security systems and pro audio and video applications often require I/O tuning to meet the sustained Read/Write performance and protection mode needs. Advanced features in the RocketRAID 3500 series of controllers allow users the flexibility to tune the RAID I/O settings to optimal mode for the best sustained Read/Write performance or protection mode for applications that require the highest level of data protection and reliability.

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid Like The Plauge

Pros: Absolutely None!

Cons: If this is for a production environment, which @ $800+ I don't see how it couldnt be, then do yourself a favor and pass on this brand. HighPoints support must be one of the industry worst. No support phone number, only option to leave a message and see if you get a response within 24 hours. And if you do get a response and immediately reply they will still make you wait another 24 hours for response. This company and their support is a joke.

Other Thoughts: This company and their support is a joke.

3 out of 5 eggsMajor Driver issues in Server 2003 x64

Pros: Priced right, 24 drives. on board memory, good speeds (500MB reads)

Cons: Will not remain stable in server 2003 x64. When using either driver ( or 25.9 will cuas server to lockout and generate "Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort0, was issued" every 30 seconds. 28.28 will generate 3 errors and stop the raid drives from working. Regardless it will not run stable for more than 2 days.

Other Thoughts: I have a ticket open with HighPoint, I pray they can give me a new drive or card asap, or else I will have to swap for a different brand. Never had any trouble with my RR2320s

5 out of 5 eggsSmall Home RAID6 Server

Pros: Excellent product. Easy to set up. Both the web interface and the card's BIOS are simple and easy to use. I like the smart monitoring. Fast build. Fast OCRM and OCRE. Fast RAID6. Perfect card for the NORCO 4220 with SAS connections.

Cons: None so far. Didn't work in a desktop 775 board where the second PCIe was "graphics only" - no big shock there.

Other Thoughts: Using it for 5x 2 TB samsung 5400 F4 drives in RAID 6. A couple individual 500GB drives for backups. When I got the HDDs and the card I had one dead drive. So I sent the drive back but was to impatient to not use the card. Put 4 drives in RAID5 and loaded it with a bunch of data. Then the 5th drive came back, added it in and migrated to RAID6. Easy process. Took about a day to do (they are 5400rpm drives) in the background. Seamless to the OS.

No regrets on spending the money on a HW raid card with a large amount of RAM (1GB).

5 out of 5 eggshighpoint rocketraid 3560

Pros: Good card, well equipped (1gb ram, 24 drives, all cables for sata drives) and easy to manage via bios or web gui.
Installation was a breeze with my NON-server grade component: gigabyte X58A UD5, I7 920.

Cons: Be careful beacuse this card is very long almost big as a geforce gxt 480 so choose your case cafully before buying this card. The card is 12 inches long add 2 more inches for cables clearance.

Other Thoughts: will buy another one anytime when needed

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent!
