Pros: Works great, used with Windows 7 64 bit and CrunchBang 64bit, works as intended. No need for drivers - generics via Windows and Linux alike work fine.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: There were a few opensource apps that did not recognize the card, which may have been the other bad reviewer's issue.

Pros: None

Cons: Probably my fault for not checking, but I want to warn others that it will not work with Windows 7 Ultimate 64- bit.

I think it is an issue with 64-bit windows in general.

Pros: Cheap! (Even more so with a 20% promo code discount)

It worked well with Windows 7 and Sony Vegas.

Cons: None. Just wish I had read a the reviews (or looked at the one picture with the cable) a little more closely to see that it came with a 4 to 6 pin cable. Could have saved myself $3.00 on the cable I ordered with it.

Other Thoughts: I have about 40 old miniDV tapes with for an old Panasonic PV-DV200 miniDV camcorder and I wanted to get it all onto the computer so I could have it backed up and use it for editing. I plugged it into a PCI slot and Windows 7 Home (64-bit) installed it with no problem. I used Sony Vegas Movie Studio 11 to do the video capture and it was easy to import the tapes as video clips.

Pros: Popped it in a free PCI slot and I was off to the races. WinXP found drivers for it instantly.

Cons: It would be nice if it had a FW800 port or two, but I only needed 400 so this was perfect for my needs.

Other Thoughts: I run a firewire-based audio production home studio, and acquired a new PC desktop, but of course it didn't come with a Firewire card. For $11...seriously...it would be absurd to NOT buy it! I highly recommend for anyone with FW400 needs!

Pros: Easy installation (Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit), easy to use and conveniently comes with a 6 pin to 4 pin cable for my DV camera.

Cons: None at all.

Other Thoughts: I bought this card with one use in mind, which was to pull all the video off of my DV camera's tapes. I used it for 8 tapes and never had an issue at all. No disconnects, no corrupted video etc. It has performed exactly as it is intended to, no more & no less. I highly recommend this card for your 1394a needs! It couldn't have been easier, from choosing the card on the website to pulling the video from the camera.

Pros: The actual card is very small/slim which barely blocks any airflow which is the main reason why I bought it. It has both 4 and 6 pin firewire connectors.

Pros: Plug and Play, no Driver required (XP).

Cons: Didn't install itself. :)
