Pros: Good price.

Cons: Not worth what I paid for it. All in all, I'll get back less than half of what I spent. Audio stinks; updated software, worked once, then went back to stinking. Updated software again from 3.50 to 3.60 and it crashed on my Vista 64. Obviously old, cheap, Chinese technology. I'll have to wait until I can afford something better that works.

Pros: Serves my purposes well enough, lets me play my old consoles on my computer. I use media player classic to view the video, it's pretty simple. Has a few settings you can adjust, only helpful one is saturation because it desaturates the video a little by default. I'm sure the radio adapter works well enough, though I never tried it.

Cons: Video quality is barely acceptable, it's low quality in every sense of the word. Has fairly noticable artifacts. The brightness is too high, so anything near white is clamped to white, can be very noticable at times. Component (R/G/B) does not work for me, the image is split in two and in black and white. Image isn't centered, and has significant ammounts of black space around it.

The sound will desync over time, becomes noticable after about 15 min and keeps getting worse. It has issues with starting the sound, usually muting and unmuting it will help, sometimes I have to disable and re-enable the device. The volume defaults to about 10%, because it records the audio about 10 times too loud (I guess this would be a pro if you needed a lot of amplification?).

Other Thoughts: Cons (cont'd): Installation is a pain, because you have to intercept your computer's power switch. Appearantly the designers couldn't figure out how to turn it on the same way every other pci device turns on. This means disconnecting your power switch from your motherboard, connecting it to this card, then connecting a waire from this card to your motherboard. It has some bent pins sticking out the back, though as far as I could tell these are purely cosmetic and aren't supposed to be used.

Instructions are helpful if you know what you're doing, though for some reason they abreviate "please" to "PLS", including in the two other languages it comes in. Came with a bunch of software, but I didn't trust Kworld enough to let them install their programs on my computer.


Bottom line: Buy this card as a last resort, if you can't afford anything else and don't need it to work consistantly or well.

Pros: Wow! This is awesome!!! What else should I get to go with this? Maybe an eight (8) inch floppy disk drive and a Muntz Stereo-Pak Player?!?

Cons: New Egg is great; but why would they sell obsolete garbage like this? Lower the price!!!

Other Thoughts: This television receiver has only an analog broadcast tuner and will require a converter box after February 17, 2009, to receive over-the-air broadcasts with an antenna because of the Nation's transition to digital broadcasting. Analog-only TVs should continue to work as before with cable and satellite TV services, gaming consoles, VCRs, DVD players, and similar products. Pros: If it works it has a nice feature set: tuner, FM radio, composite s-video and 480i component inputs, remote. I appreciate the PCI bracket for the component input since it saves external cabling. The reason I gave this more then one egg is the cards ability to splice into your cases power button, allowing you to remotely start or wake your computer with the remote. I wasn't looking for this feature when purchasing the card but now I wonder why this it hasn't been made standard in every tuner card with a remote.

Cons: It doesn't work. Despite having downloaded all of the drivers directly from kworld's site and using a fresh installation of vista64 I could not get windows media center to work with the MCE encoder. The video works with the included "hyper media center" and the WDM drivers but the audio is drowned out by loud static and poping. It's hard for me to tell but it sounds like it is also clipping at higher volumes when using the RCA inputs.

Other Thoughts: Even though there is a bracket for the component input everything else, including the infrared, is handled by the external splitter. It's a little akward but a decent trade-off for a low-profile card. Also, the plastic on the back of the component bracket spans the whole thing so it won't work with most screwless systems.

will get you to thinkin' harder than you are used too

Other Thoughts: have to use hyper media center 3.6 for things to work properly.got it from tw.kworld.power director 5 works but i use dvd movie factory 4 for best results.have k-world dvd movie maker pci.used software that came with it.

Pros: Cost, looks good on paper

Cons: I was trying to capture video from my VCR, but the only way I could get a picture was with the Tuner input, and even that would occasionally flash to a blank screen in the middle of recording.

The adapter caple to connect the composite/s-video cables does not securely connect to the tuner card, so I could only get bits and pieces of the picture. I tried connecting a DVD player to the component input, but neither the bundled Cyberlink software nor Nero 9 gave an option for using the component connector as a choice. The only options were tuner, composite, and S-video.

Other Thoughts: I did not attempt to use FM radio since that is not what I bought this card for. I also did not try the remote since it takes AAA batteries and I didn't have any available.

Pros: I can watch TV fairly effortlessly now. Set up took about an hour (mostly just the hardware part). but there is an auto update feature that is installed. I was able to record some TV and the remote is effective for navigation.

Cons: The installation CD was a little buggy and I thought it froze a few times, I am not used to waiting with a quad core 3.0 and 8GB of mem...
The picture has noise on the very top of the video. Just one bar... I am sure I can crop it somehow though.

Other Thoughts: The reason I got this tuner card was to watch TV via CABLE and to be able to play console games on my monitor. Seems to work for that.

The antennae are utter garbage and don't expect to be able to use over the air at all. Also with the move to all digital (finally) the card won't be picking up anything anyway.

Pros: None

Cons: This is the worst PC component i've have every installed, The sound makes a horrible popping sound. MCE usage is a joke.

Other Thoughts: Newegg shouldn't sell a product of this low quality

Cons: The card never worked in any of the 3 PC's tested. All I am getting is a color band on top of the screen. I repeatedly submitted the online RMA Tech Support thingy. Never got an answer. It has been month It's a doorstop since I bought it.

Other Thoughts: I don't have a problem if I receive once a while a dead product, things happen. I do have a problem if the support is non-existing, though.
