Rosewill PCI to 4x1394 Card Model RC-507

Pros: Easy to install, no fuss, works like a charm.

Other Thoughts: Wish my camcorder had USB3.0 capability.

Pros: I plugged this into an old desktop running XP and used it to transfer video from my old miniDV camcorder. XP recognized it and loaded the needed drivers. Using XP software, I was able to control the camcorder and transfer several hours of video with no problems.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I did not use the CD it came with. It was not needed.

Pros: Easy install, came with cable that'll cost you otherwise.

Cons: Used with canon XL1 camera no problems

Pros: I use a motherboard now without integrated firewire ports and this card is more than perfect. I am able to lower my latency significantly using this over my last integrated device.
-Easy plug and play install.
-No hiccups or problems whatsoever.
-Cheap as...something ridiculously cheap.

Cons: -Nothing

Pros: New PCs do not have firewire, so I had no way to connect my older Sony video camera. For a little money, this solved the problem. Plugged in and Win 7 loaded drivers automatically worked well.
Now I have my grand daughters concert on DVD.

Other Thoughts: Was on sale when I ordered and free shipping from Shop Runner.

Pros: Seems like it may be a great Low Profile 1394a card for a great price.

Cons: My HP low profile desktop gave me the "4 Red LED Blinks" at POST and refused to turn on. The HP manual indicated the 4 red blinks mean some sort of power failure / power overload condition. It indicated to remove all hardware devices and re-install them one at a time. Sure enough this card was clearly the problem. Maybe it just tipped the scale in overloading the PSU as it is a low profile case with an extra hard drive the Radeon HD 5450 installed. Not sure though as the card should use almost no wattage.

Other Thoughts: This card is likely fine, and perhaps only does not work with my hardware and limited PSU. As such, I am not lowering it's rating. I don't believe any permanent damage was caused to my computer.

Pros: Cheap
4 ports 3 external and 1 internal

Cons: none that i can think of

Pros: Low profile design, easy install, no drivers needed if running XP or later, 2 fullsize and 1 mini port and best of all; the price!

Cons: Using the internal jumper disables one of the cards rear facing ports.

Other Thoughts: Once again, I will always live by Rosewill products. Card installation was smooth and easy and XP immediately fired the card up and I was able to use my firewire devices immediately. A major plus, and another major reason I suggest this card, is that it is low profile. I was seriously concerned about this card blocking airflow to my massively overpowered video card but it's small design cleared the video card fan and is not restricting airflow in the case at all. BUY THIS CARD!

Pros: Runs my Firepod and captures my video with no issues.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Sometimes my computer will freeze up but when I unplug my Firepod it doesn't. Not sure if it's an issue with the box or the card so I won't deduct a star.

Pros: Works well and is at good price point.

Cons: None.
