5 out of 5 eggsNice Card

Pros: The card was simple to install and pretty straight forward to operate. I mean, there are only so many things you can plug into it.

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: This card is a great deal and at the price point that I got it at, it was hard to pass up. It accomplished everything I needed it for, which was hooking up an older Panasonic DV camera to download the old tapes.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks with Ubuntu 12.0 LTS

Pros: This was inexpensive and worked well with Ubuntu linux.

Cons: No internal header

Other Thoughts: I bought this card to transfer video to my computer from my old camcorder which uses digital tape. It worked without installing drivers or changing settings. I can now burn the videos to DVD. I would have liked an internal header as my case has a firewire port in front.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks fine with audio interfaces.

Pros: Works just peachy.
Cheap.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: There's always a fear that a cheap firewire card won't work well with audio gear. This one works just fine. Sweet.

5 out of 5 eggsCoincidence?

Pros: - Grants extra fire-wire ports
- very useful in new systems that do not have fire-wire

Cons: - see other thoughts

Other Thoughts: I got this because i started using new computers and old camcorders, so i got this card from Newegg. Then I dropped the camcorder in the pool before the pci card arrived, so it is untested by my own fault.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great!

Pros: I plugged this into an old desktop running XP and used it to transfer video from my old miniDV camcorder. XP recognized it and loaded the needed drivers. Using XP software, I was able to control the camcorder and transfer several hours of video with no problems.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I did not use the CD it came with. It was not needed.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for audio recording

Pros: I use a motherboard now without integrated firewire ports and this card is more than perfect. I am able to lower my latency significantly using this over my last integrated device.
-Easy plug and play install.
-No hiccups or problems whatsoever.
-Cheap as...something ridiculously cheap.

Cons: -Nothing

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: New PCs do not have firewire, so I had no way to connect my older Sony video camera. For a little money, this solved the problem. Plugged in and Win 7 loaded drivers automatically worked well.
Now I have my grand daughters concert on DVD.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Was on sale when I ordered and free shipping from Shop Runner.
