5 out of 5 eggsGreat buy and product

Pros: Almost as easy as plug and play, install into an empty PCI slot install software and off you go.

Cons: none, not always useful.

Other Thoughts: Some boards don't have any com ports this comes in handy, in fact most boards don't have com ports nowadays. Not as useful for everyday use.

5 out of 5 eggsA-OK!

Pros: Easy install. Win 7 64 drivers (and a host of other OS drivers) are included on driver CD.

Cons: MINOR: Item description on here and on box doesn't specifically say it's Win 7 64bit compatible.

Other Thoughts: Bought this to work with my older GPS which has a serial port only. Upgraded PC didn't have a serial port, only USB.
Didn't want or need to upgrade to a USB equipped GPS, so this fit the bill nicely and for a good price.

2 out of 5 eggsdead

Pros: easy to install, worked fine initially. Recognized by Win7 immediately.

Cons: I think it is dead after 1 month, no longer seen in device manager.

Other Thoughts: Going to try the usb to serial, maybe that will be more durable. Don't understand why this failed, it was only popping a cash drawer.

1 out of 5 eggsCheap But Expensive

Pros: Inexpensive in dollar amounts but expensive in the amount of time spent getting the thing to be properly recognized.
Needed something to that I could use with my Cisco Pix 501 firewall since I went through a MOBO upgrade (GIGABYTE GA-EP43-UD3L) that didn't have a serial port.

Cons: (sighhh) where do I begin... Windows Server 2008 64 saw that there was a new device installed however I received failures
at COM1/COM3 and LPT3. No biggy I thought, I'll just install the most recent drivers... Did that and kept receiving exclamation points within Device Manager. Again no biggy I thought, I will go to the moschip website -

Other Thoughts: I installed EVERY driver possible from Vista 32/64 and then it occurred to me to try XP. So on a lark I downloaded XP 32 drivers and voila! Hyperterminal was working and I got my Pix back.
