  • newegg Vapor-X Technology SAPPHIRE’s innovative Vapor-X cooling technology allows products to run not only cooler, but also much quieter. A Vapor-X product means a virtually silent gaming experience, and more headroom to explore performance tweaking!
  • newegg Black Diamond Choke and Full Solid Cap Design Choke is an important component of the graphics card. By working with the component engineer, Sapphire’s exclusive choke is 10% cooler, and offers 25% more power efficiency than a normal choke. The graphics card will be more reliable and will save energy. Improved reliability and better overclocking are possible by using only high-polymer, aluminum capacitors, which possess far superior characteristics than regular aluminum capacitors for a longer product life. When operational temperatures drop by 20°C, the product life span is extended by a factor of ten; when the operational temperature increases by 20°C, the product life span only decreases by 10%.
  • newegg DirectX 11.2 The tessellation performance on AMD Radeon R7/R9 series is up to two times faster than the previous generation, and DirectCompute performance is also faster to accelerate advanced post-processing, filtering, and anti-aliasing techniques. Direct X11 games has never looked this good.
  • newegg Mantle There’s optimization, and then there’s Mantle. Games enabled with Mantle speak the language of GCN architecture to unlock revolutionary performance and image quality. (Application support is required.)
  • newegg AMD Eyefinity Enjoy the ultimate immersive gaming experience with innovative “wrap around” multidisplay capabilities.
  • newegg Dual Firmware Support This product supports both Legacy and UEFI BIOS. By factory default, the card itself is under Legacy mode. Sapphire products with "Dual Firmware Support" functions equip the UEFI firmware that's digitally signed and approved by Microsoft for Secure Boot. With Windows 8's secure boot architecture and its establishment of a root of trust, the customer is protected from malicious code executing in the boot path by ensuring that only signed, certified "known good" code and boot loader can execute before the operating system itself loads.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: Really great and at a good price. I can run Skyrim at 60FPS with a lot of mods. Had it for a year and still no hiccups!

Cons: None

1 out of 5 eggsGood luck trying to RMA anything.

Pros: Ran Battlefield 4 at ~40 fps with all settings maxed on my system when it worked.

Cons: Constant graphics glitches, and Direct X errors.

Other Thoughts: I sent in my ticket on 5-21-15, it is now 6-4-15 I still do not have an RMA number to return my defective product. There is absolutely no communication between the tech people at all. I informed them that I had purchased my card new on a certain online auction site and not once did they mention that this certain online auction site was not an authorized vendor and that I would have to pay a $30 fee to process my RMA. Only after digging around for my receipt and sending it in was I informed of this. I sent my RMA form in to tech@athlonmicro 2 days ago, the same day that I was told to fill it out and send it in, and I am yet to get any sort of response from anyone. This was my second purchase of a Sapphire product and it will be my last, I will go with a company that doesn't jerk around their customers.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Card!!

Pros: Very quiet and cool. I maxed out at 986 fps on minecraft with video settings as low as possible.
CPU: AMD FX 8350
Mobo: Gigabyte 970A-D3P
RAM: Corsair Dominator DDR3 8GB 1866MHz

Cons: Couldn't go over 1000fps on minecraft. :(

Other Thoughts: This card is really big, so be sure to measure your case before you buy. I think the card is 10.4" long maybe, It's listed in the specs somewhere though.

4 out of 5 eggsRuns good enough.

Pros: - Runs everything I play with good fps on medium settings
- quiet
- Runs smooth
- not power hungry
-

Cons: - not as powerful as it should be at this price
- un able to overclock at this time, might be me, might be the card, might be KAVERI compatibility.

Other Thoughts: - not the most powerful but not the weakest either
- ran in a system with 12 core KAVERI CPU and got 73 FPS average on 20 minute fur mark stress test, topped out at 72 degrees C, still quiet. Good enough for me. Stock clocks, unable to overclock card at this time, still playing with different settings in BIOS.
- will upgrade to a new card later, wife had to approve the build budget. I decided to compromise a powerful graphics card for more processor power and water cooling now. Marriage is a game of compromise and patience...

5 out of 5 eggsPush the Button and make sure its blue

Pros: The Card worked well from the start, Able to max settings most of my games with 60fps, and get a min 30fps out of newer games with only small drops from some ultra settings.

Cons: It caused screen-tearing alot after longer game sessions, 3-4 hours, and would blue screen if i kept playing to long after that. when investigating it never seemed to get to hot. come to find out that there is a button next to the power connectors that must be turned on for ufie?uefi? (something along those lines, had a brain meltdown for a sec there.) anyways once i found the button and turned it on i have had a significant performance boost.

Other Thoughts: Why a button? I really don't understand but that is more my fault then the cards, that or there really is no good reason for it. either way after enabling the button I was able to get more power, longer gaming sessions, properly working overclock, and significantly less graphical anomolies with no more bluescreens.

3 out of 5 eggsNot a bad card

Pros: I bought this card because it looked decent for the price and it's all the money that I had. It runs games decently; combined with an I7 4790k I can run games like Star Citizen at an average of 35 FPS or so. Did better than expected honestly.

Cons: It would be better to pay a little extra and just get an r9 285 or something. Will be upgrading to a sapphire r9 290x Tri-x shortly.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat price/performance ratio

Pros: This card comes at a great price for the horsepower. Easily handles any game. Newer titles play well at reasonable quality settings, but slightly older titles really shine. Cities Skylines runs flawlessly, Borderlands 2 never shows any frame rate lags and plays like a dream capped at 60 fps. Haven't tested this with GTA IV yet. Half-Life 2 tech demo runs perfectly capped at 60 fps. This is an excellent choice for affordable, enjoyable retro gaming. And by retro I mean 2013 and earlier.

Two of these is cheaper than 1 GTX 980, but not an R9 290X. Make your decision carefully.

Cons: None really, except that the card is long so you should have (will need?) a full tower case. I wouldn't plan on 4K UHD gaming with this card, but maybe with a pair of them you'd be fine.

Other Thoughts: I bought this card based on its reviews, price point, brand, and power consumption requirements. All Sapphire cards I've owned have performed well, lasted years, and been free of defects and rendering artifacts. I have no affinity for NVIDIA or AMD cards per se, I've just had too many problems with NVIDIA cards to trust them any longer. I've owned a number of both, and overall the AMD Radeon cards have performed equally to my satisfaction with significantly less issues. You may have the opposite experience. One thing is certain: this is a great card.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Gaming Value

Pros: Easy install. Adds value and speed for gaming versus other cards. Better to save on the front end for those who are going to upgrade down the road anyway. Easy rebate offer which saves on cost.

Cons: Runs hot. I can feel the heat on max settings, but not constant. Fans kick in to cool and at time runs loud.

Other Thoughts: Overall, great for BF3 or 4. Had no problems after a week of use. I have always preferred AMDs Radeon Cards from a cost stand point versus others.

5 out of 5 eggsR9-270X

Pros: Runs great! Looks cool! Great price! I have been running this with and FX-6300 and 8 gigs of ram. I play Diablo 3 Max settings 20-40 FPS at medium high almost max setting 80-90 FPS. Couldn't have asked for a better for the price

Cons: Large but it fit in my tower great! Also you will need to go into your BIOS and turn off onboard graphics with a factory HP motherboard.
