Pros: Good speed
Quite Design

Cons: Fan on heatsink dies after 4 months.

Other Thoughts: Customer service wants $50+ to ship replacement fan to me... sound fair to you? The QC on some of the components is awful.

5 out of 5 eggsStill holding up...surprisngly

Pros: I got this way back. I used to like ATI a lot, and I lost touch with them along the way, then I got the 4850 since it was cheaper than nvidia at the time. I was really glad to see this doing so well. My friend had an SLI set up and one of my cards out performed his 2.

Cons: HIS Tech Support is pretty lousy. Don't expect much from them if you have a problem. They told me that their database was down so they could not find my serial number. Turned out nothing was wrong with my card, the temp was 70 C thanks to folding.

The fins on the heatsink were bent when I got mine. I had to bend them back into place otherwise it would have caused a lot of damage. The heatsink felt prety cheap but it does its job well.

Other Thoughts: It does folding well, but make sure you have plenty of cooling to offer it if you decide to.

I never did play that free game I got with this card...As a matter of fact...I wonder where it went...

5 out of 5 eggsVery Satisfied

Pros: Upgraded from a three-year-old NVIDIA GeForce 7900GS to this, and what a difference it makes! I can run Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2 completely maxed out at 1920x1080 on my HDTV without any issues. I haven't even tried to overclock it yet. Considering it is supposed to be a "budget" card, it performs extremely well.

Cons: I wish it included a DVI-to-HDMI adapter that would pass sound through, so that I wouldn't have to run a separate audio cable to my TV. I'm nitpicking here because I can't think of anything worse about this card.

Other Thoughts: For some reason this card does NOT like any Catalyst drivers newer than 9.5 when running Windows 7. I'm using 9.5 now and it works fine, but 9.7 causes a blue screen during the driver installation. Not taking any eggs off for this since it is a Prerelease OS right now.

I'm running this card in a Three-year-old Dell XPS 410 with the stock power supply that is only 375 Watts. Despite this card claiming it needs a 450 Watt Power Supply, the card runs great with the stock 375 Watt supply. This is in a system that also uses a Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 2.4 GHz,
4 GB RAM, 1 TB Caviar Black Hard Drive, and Hauppage WinTV-HVR-2250 TV Tuner.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty Good

Pros: It works, I haven't had the chance to test it yet in gaming but for everyday computing its fine

Cons: It has a strange issue, see other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: I think the drivers have an issue with my Dell 2408wfp. Not sure why but occasionally the screen will boot into windows with a "dark glaze" over the screen e.g. everything appears darker than normal. Sometimes a restart will solve this, sometimes a driver update will solve this, it's kind of random and I have no idea whether the graphics card is the cause or the monitor is

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Excellent performance on a C2D E8400 @ 3.6 GHz + 4GB DDR2, w/ Catalyst 9.6 drivers. Temperatures are surprisingly low, even in a cramped Shuttle XPC case.

Cons: Not the card shown in the pictures; I probably received an earlier revision of this card. Detracts significantly from the overall rating as a result.

Other Thoughts: Most likely will ask for an exchange for the newer model w/ shorter PCB; failing that, will purchase another 4850.

1 out of 5 eggsWorks well for two months

Pros: Worked well with VISTA; No problems with dual monitor mode; Graphics were very good. Increased video performance score from standard onboard video

Cons: Failed after two months. No longer recognized by computer!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card at a Great Price

Pros: The card works great and overclocks well. For the price I bought it, it was well worth the deal. Runs HL2, TF2, Unreal 3, and L4D all at max.

Cons: Did not come with some usual extras such as DVI to HDMI convertor.
