Pros: Very fast. Have no problems running any games at full settings.

Cons: Hot as hell! The fan stock is only at 30% which is quite but makes the card extremely hot. Turned fan to 45% and its a nice balance between preformance and comfort. Turning the fan fully up sounds like a wind turbine!

5 out of 5 eggsNewegg Wins !!!!

Pros: Ok first of all I ordered this card http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161236

But newegg send me this one instead!!!! so I got this card for an insane deal of 205 cdn!! Buah hahahaha

Also, I can run everything 1680x1050 max details on every game in existence... so what else do you need?

Cons: to bad they didn't give me a choice and let me pay an upgrade fee to get the 1gb model for 10 bucks more

Other Thoughts: with a core i7 920 X 3.7ghz

runs cool and quiet at 35% fan speed, idle 41, load about 50

5 out of 5 eggsDominates

Pros: This card is just amazing. First of all the packaging is sweet and it comes with a handy screwdriver/flashlight which is pretty cool :) then just looking at the card makes you sigh and you just want to look at it...... anyways back on track... it performs just awesome even if you dont have the best rig. the fan is so fast on this thing specially using riva tuner... its sooooo loud but it cools so good. it idles at about 32C and on games its at 55-62C except for crysis (of course). no need to oc it already is oc'ed.

Cons: none... i dont care if its loud at 45% cause i just turn my speakers up a little more. i guess if your case is a mid tower then its a little hard to plug the power connectors but you can figure that out with your own case.

Other Thoughts: I only wish that the power connectors were on the side instead of being on the back it would be much easier. and i wish that the board was black instead of blue to match everything else on my computer.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Card

Pros: Very nice, card, The 780mhz core clock and the 4000mhz memory clock is what really brought my attention to this card.. runs cod5 max settings, 90-100fps constant, runs about 55 idle, but can be controlled with ccc fan controller. Best card ive ever bought, Still lovin ATI, Stickin with HIS.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: Its a little big, dont plan on putting it into any case smaller than a mid-tower. Also make sure that your case is well ventilated.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful Card. Well worth the money

Pros: This card is very easily overclocked with all the programs they have out now. my card runs at about 55 idle (sometimes lower) and rarely gets hotter than 65 when gaming.

Cons: If you dont have a good system to utilize the ownage, its not worth buying. Also, if you dont get the two slot cooler version of this card, i cant imagine the kind of temperatures you be getting.

Other Thoughts: Wonderful buy. a little on the expensive side, but when the time comes, it will be cheap to buy a second one to crossfire and youll be set for a long time.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Graphics Card!

Pros: This graphics card handles almost all my new next games with amazing silky smooth frame rates. I have Crysis running at around 30 FPS and over 50 on almost everything else.

Cons: Runs a little hot, but fan speed can be increased if you have the most recent version of the catalyst control center/driver. (mine came in box with the fan speed at 30% and idled at around 70 C, cranked it up to 50% and now its down around 38C).

Other Thoughts: This is a fantastic card to buy if it's in your price range, and the heat issue can be easily dealt with.

2 out of 5 eggsPoor High Definition Performance

Pros: Fast on all benchmarks, gaming should be smooth

Cons: Poor HD implementation

Other Thoughts: Home theater enthusiast here. Had the 7900GTX and tweaked it with powerstrip for my 1080p projector with some success, slight slight blurr when watching Netflix HD movies for past 2 wks.

Now this 4870 is very loud, poor graphics tweakability via Catalyst Advanced mode, does not even fill the screen at 1080, and does not do 1080i well, with about 5% of screen off, when corrected motion blurr is introduced. The Nvidia allowed true HD resolutions sent to the projector, with perfect screen fill and ratios. Fairly decent PCM sound via HDMI.

Keeping the 7900GTX and OxygenHD 192KHz upsampling B-Gears sound card via digital link.

This one goes back.

Don't dismiss it if you are just a hardcore gamer, it may do well there.

5 out of 5 eggsLoud but good.

Pros: fast, fast, fast!!! no lag on crysis, like i had in the past before i got this bad boy.

Cons: loud, if you wanna keep it cool, but i don't mind the noise. not worth an egg.

Other Thoughts: BIG! had to move my hard drive down one slot, so the thing would fit. running the fan at 45%, idles at 41C, and under load about 50C.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fast card, getting good benchmarking scores on my PC with it. Running Assassins Creed and Devil May Cry 4 perfectly smooth at max setting with DX10.
Hellgate London is the only game that still has some frame rate issues at max settings, but I'm not certain if that's the card or the game itself at this point. All other games I've tried have been smooth.

Runs at about 60 degres on average in my case, which is not bad. Most of my video cards run close to that temp. Considering this card is already OC'ed a bit by HIS, this can fall to pro or con depending on your view.

Cons: Card can be a bit loud, but as a gamer I don't really notice or care. I usually only notice the noise when the fan spins up at the start of a 3D application. At idle it's decently quiet (sitting in a Tsunami Mid-tower).

Other Thoughts: Still haven't tested against Crysis but want to. Card is large, be aware that it will not leave much room for your Hard Drives in a mid-tower. If you have only one or 2 HDD's, it shouldn't be an issue.

Overall I'm very happy with the card, especially with it's price point.

4 out of 5 eggsToo Hot or too Loud - U pick

Pros: Super Fast, looks cool on the "Blue" PCB. Of course, NewEgg Rocks as usual :)

Cons: Not HIS's fault but all the HD4870's run too HOT. Sure you can do the fan fix but then the reference cooler gets too loud. Its really too bad because the 4870's are wicked fast w/ great IQ. This one is going back ~

Other Thoughts: Maybe others can deal with the Heat & Noise of the 4870's but I'll wait for something a little less "Cooked". All 48xx cards need better cooling period! I wish AIB's put more quality into their coolers instead of slapping their own sticker on the reference cooler. BTW, this model uses the ASUS TOP BIOS which has a very aggressive (& loud) fan profile.
