5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Best card I have ever owned. It is quiet. It is powerful, it runs cool, has lifetime warranty. There have been zero hiccups . It also over locks great without even changing voltages. I have had evga, gigabyte, msi, bfg, and asus cards. All had hiccups. Either too loud, running hot, or fans dying or grinding.

Cons: It is still too expensive

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review. We appreciate the positive feedback.

2 out of 5 eggsWarranty

Pros: Great card while it lasted! Fast RMA process.

Cons: They lost my registration, luckily (or not) it died just under a year old. So RMA'd it that was not a problem fast and efficient. Shipped it to them over a month ago, I kept checking the status of my card, always showed 'with technician'. Then I wrote them after 3 weeks to clarify it's status. They basically confirmed the card was unrepairable but they don't have a replacement and I'm on a waiting list for one! Now I have to say I'm concerned with what I'll get and when.

Other Thoughts: Myself and others I know have been very happy with their offerings, just hope it doesn't break! You'll be without for who knows how long....

5 out of 5 eggsFirst time AMD / ATI video

Pros: i switched from a GTX 285 to this when i build my new right and let me tell you what it is leaps and bounds beyond that of my old GTX. I love this card, i love the flexibility it offers, and i love the 32c idle it provides. Maximum load temp while gaming is 72c. I have been able to max out all current gen games and play with no issues :-D.

Cons: this isnt really a con with the card it's a con with a game, but dark souls will not bring this card out of idle speed which is 300mhz thus resulting in choppy fps... but like i said that is not a fault of this card, it's a fault of a bad console to pc port.

Other Thoughts: LOVE THIS CARD <3

4 out of 5 eggsJust under 1 year

Pros: Build from a premier manufacturer. Very fast and handles anything I've thrown at it with relative ease. Overclocking is not needed for me nor is crossfire... yet! Industrial look rather than a bunch of flashy led's.

Cons: Died just short of 1 year old. Swore I registered it... But it doesn't show up in there records. How then was I able to download the free games I received with it? One being bioshock which wasn't even out yet! Could be me though I have so many accounts but wouldn't the serial number tell all? Well put a ticket in we will see...

Other Thoughts: The dead thing can happen to anything, I've been a computer support engineer for over 20 years. This was the first time for me with an XFX product ever. Hopefully their warranty service is up to par with their products.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Sean, fortunately our system keeps the internal serial registration in-case of compromised or lost accounts.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong

Pros: Fast, quiet, relatively cool, absolutely overclock-able. With a few adjustments, you will have a faster card than a 7970.

Since my previous review (date: 5/7/2013 2:27:58 PM, name: Nickname, titled: Finally got it working) I am happy to say I have not had any issues with this card. I am indeed very pleased with it and the ability to overclock is great. I have gotten it to 1000, 1400 with no issues but back it down to 950, 1300 for temps sake.

Cons: None. I play every game maxed out including my modded games and have not had any performance issues except with Age of Empires 3. That game doesn't want to run gloriously with a lot of troops.

Other Thoughts: Great job AMD and XFX for doing a good job with this card and warranty. Newegg you know i can't leave you out as you have given great service over the years.
Thanks

1 out of 5 eggsRuns great - BUT HOT AS ALL DAY

Pros: Powerful, like crazy powerful, especially in Crossfire

Cons: I have two of these cards, both identical. I spent hours testing and testing to learn that both cards get to 100C in heavy use. That's too hot, and it exceeds XFX's temp range as stated on their FAQ.

I've tested one card and then the other as well as Crossfire and they run at 99-100C (or more, but I can't determine it reliably) The primary card also idles at around 68C. These temps are just insane.

Other Thoughts: I'd give these a 5+ star rating if they ran in a normal temp range. I'm a loyal XFX customer and have an old 5770 in a junk box, a 6950 in an i5-2500k rig and these two 7950's running in a new LGA2011 i7 system.

I know the card has been discontinued now, but nevertheless I have to make these comments.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Dee, it sounds like your airflow is limited or your fans are failling. Please contact me at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com or create a ticket at xfxsupport.com to get this issue resolved. Thank you

1 out of 5 eggsGood Card, Bad Cooling

Pros: Plays games very well at max settings.
Mines for Litecoins EXTREMELY fast

Cons: This thing run extremely hot while gaming to the point where I need to have the fans running at 100% to keep the card running at 70C. I believe the issue is that XFX has used a low quality thermal paste because the fans appear to be working perfectly fine and my case has exceptional airflow.

Other Thoughts: XFX is known for having the best customer support and warrenties, so my hope is that they'll be able to refund my purchase or at the very least replace my 7950 with one that doesn't have this heating issue.
I'm unwilling to change the thermal paste myself as I fear that would void my ruin warrenty.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Akito, Thank you for the kind compliments. We're sorry you temperatures are not in the range you were expecting. It appears the cooling issue you are describing might not be as bad as it sounds. The 7950 at 100% game load will push temperatures of 75-80'C, sometimes higher (mining/furmark). As long as it doesnt break 90'C, it should operate as intended. Remember, this is an air cooled device using Copper and aluminum to disperse heat. Its not as rapid or effective as water, but its more safe and still well within the range for the card. I don't recommend running GPU fans on automatic at 100%, it will eventually cause them to fail.

XFX has a modder friendly policy in North America, Warranty void stickers do not affect USA/CANADA. Please contact us for details if you are unsure.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's Awesome

Pros: It just upgraded from an XFX 6970 card. and wasn't expecting much of a difference. I was proven wrong with the startup of Crysis. Simply beautiful graphics. Card was an easy install since I already had an ATI card installed previously. So far all the bad reviews I'm finding are wrong in my eyes.

Cons: NONE
