5 out of 5 eggsGood For What It Did

Pros: Owned this card since 2011. Was a quick replacement for my deceased 8800 gt. This card has since then been put thru the ringer and for what I paid, has done the job nicely. The fans on this thing have also been very quiet.

Cons: Well clearly with new games and new specs, this thing is starting to show it's age, handling 1080p gaming (like mmo's) is it's downside, I have to lower settings.

Other Thoughts: I can't complain, I paid $150 bucks for a daily gaming rig for all these years. Now it's time to move up to a 970 gtx

Manufacturer Response:

Awesome.

Thank you for the great review, we appreciate the positive feedback.

4 out of 5 eggsInexpensive Speed

Pros: I picked this video card because it was a low end GDDR5 video card. I use it for gaming and have not had any issues when running newer games, like Star Wars the Old Republic, on max graphics and settings.

I am also impressed by it's complete graphical load speed abilities. I've tested this many times while playing an older video game, Star Wars Galaxies Emulator. I have loaded up to 5 different instances of the game using 5 different characters in different locations. I can ALT+TAB between accounts very quickly and with little graphical delay, despite the amount of change between the character locations.

Cons: The only issue I have experienced with this video card, is that occasionally when I drop out of a game to the desktop (with the game still loaded in the background) I will see a single line cross my screen. This artifact responds to interactions with other windows that move across the line as well as the mouse moving across it. I have tested a different monitor and received the same issue, so my conclusion it is from the video card. However, the artifact will be removed when reopening the video game.

Other Thoughts: For being the first ATI/AMD video card I have used in a long time... I used to be a NVIDIA only gamer... I am impressed.

The only reason I used an ATI video card, for gaming, was to take advantage of a glitch in the video processing of a game. The glitch was the inability of the video card to process the fog of war effect, thus giving the user infinite visibility vs the in game limit of up to ~300 meters. This was back in 2003 or so.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Buy

Pros: Work well, stays cool, able to overclock some, good for eyefinity set-up (make sure you buy "active" cables)

Cons: when hot fans get a bit noise (dont mind it too much)

Other Thoughts: Good temps, idles around 54.C, during games get around 72.C

5 out of 5 eggsGood buy at the Time

Pros: I bought this card about 8 months ago.
The card holds up very nice. It does not collect dust as bad as other cards I had in the past.
Runs @ 42 C in Windows under no load.
In BF3 it can run MAX settings pretty well. 50fps @ 1680 w/ AAx2 or 4. It can dip down in some rough spots but that is due to the AA.
SWtOR it can handle nearly everything at max.

Cons: Deactivated. This item is currently out of stock and it may or may not be restocked.

Other Thoughts: I originally bought this card in hopes to go CrossFire in the future... Now I will debate whether it's best to go with upgrading.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: looks cool! easy to install and get running.

Cons: mine was RMA'ed got really hot really fast in WOW which should not have even strained this card, and had shadow tearing and squares of pixels jumping all over the place. Might have just been a bad card.

Other Thoughts: might still be a great card, and i may have gotten a lemon. but it is back at new egg, and i got an nividia on the way, sticking with what i know.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Card!

Pros: XFX hit it outta the park with this card. Looks good but more importantly, I can play WoW at ultra settings and still get 180 fps in environment and 50 fps in Orgrimmar on a busy night with tons of people in the city.
Stays cool and Using the control center, I keep the fans at about 65% and no problems!
Best bang for the buck!

Cons: None!

5 out of 5 eggsI Like It!

Pros: I'm not going to rattle on here. I like the cards looks, it's quite. unless you manage to get the fans too 75% plus. That's when I start to hear it over other noise. The only time the fans ever got the high for me is when I turned them up. Screwing around in the GPU settings. The card has never gotten warm enough in games and such to need those fan speeds. Highend new games take your pick. I don't play all, but i play a good many of them using high settings.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I probably won't need to shop for another video card for awhile now.

I envy you reading these and other reviews, benchmarks.
The thrill of the hunt for the best bang for the buck......

I got my trophy card in this one! I hope you find yours. Best of luck!

5 out of 5 eggsThey work

Pros: 2x in Crossfire config. Can play any game I throw at it in full detail. Playing Dirt 3 and it doesn't slow down a bit.
- The copper piping looks really cool, like a car's exhaust manifold, and it works the same.
- Lots of cooling features, with the piping, heat sinks, fans, keeps things from blowing up.
- I upgraded them from 1 solo video card, I didn't need to update any software or firmware, up and running right off the bat.
- Very quiet, even when fully loaded.

Cons: - If fully loaded in a game, it gets EXTREMELY hot, even to touch, sometimes I worry if the plastic is going to melt if I keep going.
- While the heat sinks and fans do their job, the vent at the back is virtually useless, most of the hot air unfortunately stays inside the case, raising overall temp inside. The fans do not blow the air out of the case.

5 out of 5 eggsGood card

Pros: Seems to handle anything I throw at it. BF3 runs on high settings 1920x1200. Game runs very well. The card seems to be quiet in my system, I cannot really hear it even while gaming.

Cons: I don't think this is a probelm with the card but my EVGA P55 LE motherboard does not play nice with this card. Twice now I have had to reseat the video card and the motherboard just won't recognize it. So if you have EVGA esp P55 series there may be a few issues. I finally got it to work after reseating the card about 50 times. Like I said I really think it is the MBB, if I change ANY hardware on the system a clear CMOS is required before it will work. So frustrating.

Other Thoughts: Card is big, but comparable to a 8800 GT 9800 GTX etc etc. just be sure you have space.
