4 out of 5 eggsXFX GTS 250

Pros: Solid construction, good support. Handles games at high resolution as long as you run the fan wide open. I have taxed this card for over a year with no issues.

Cons: Must run the fan at 100% to keep it from overheating which makes alot of noise.

Other Thoughts: Even after a year of ownership, I still paid less than what it is today.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Buy, better than expected!

Pros: I bought the 1GB version of this from newegg, I have a stock dell inspiron 530s with only a New Case, PSU, and this GPU. This card performs well above Benchmark reports I've heard, even with the rest of my system being relatively low-end.

This card has given me zero issues, installed easily out of the box and worked from day 1. The Windows Experience Index gives a 7.0 in Aero and 3D graphics for those curious about the score (That is on my mid-range Dell system, higher end Mobo's and ram may improve.)

I can play games such at Batman: Arkham Asylum on 1650x1080 Highest Settings with Framerates in the 90-110 range, though if I attempt to use video-capture programs it drops way down. It idles at 51-51 C temp.

Cons: None, though it is very large; my mini desktop motherboard still had room enough for SATA cables to my HDD and other disk drives.

Other Thoughts: I just today have overclocked it, after 7 months ownership. It performed FAR better WITHOUT overclocking than any card I've seen, which shocked me, but I was curious. I was able to increase it to:

846 MHz Core Clock, 1,944 MHz Shader clock, and 993.60 MHz Memory clock with great stability, any higher and it gets iffy. Still running at 52 C right now. Have not tested in game yet, but I assume it will increase performance a good deal, making it well in-line with even higher end video cards.

-Foxconn 33E50 Mobo
-2GB RAM (Stock)
-Intel E5200 Core 2 Duo Processor 2.5 GHz
-Rosewill Challenger ATX Mid-Tower Case (Newegg bought)
-GeForce GTS 250 1GB Core Edition (Newegg)
-585W PSU (Newegg)

^Not the highest end, but this card has set my WEI at 7.0/ on windows 7, as I said outperforms on my low-end system.

5 out of 5 eggsGood for Snow Leopard

Pros: This is the same card as 9800 GTX+. They only changed the name and it only requires one power plug instead of two.
I use it under 9800 GTX+ name succesfuly under Snow Leopard 10.6.3.

Cons: Too big. Make sure you have a full ATX case.

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY XFX!!!!

Pros: na

Cons: They lie about their Warranty

Other Thoughts: I purchased this card it went bad in a year they replaced it. the new card didnt even make it through 3dmark 06. I sent it back they sent me pics of the back of a card with broken pieces. Why would the card have broken pieces when it was fine when I had it. They are now not replacing it. you can say I'm disgruntled, but why wouldnt I be. dont make a lifetime warranty and not honor it. now I am out the money and dont have the money to replace it. great work xfx way to show customer service. go with a different brand

5 out of 5 eggsGamers Delight

Pros: This card was a vast improvement over my Geforce 8600 GTX in newer games such as Bad Company 2. Also an older game Counter-Strike Source.. i went from avg 80-100 FPS depending on the map to 190-220 FPS on the exact same hardware. I have yet to over clock it but i am going to do so here shortly. Also the fan is not loud at all and keeps the GPU core temp at a safe level. I'm Throughly impressed.

Cons: None, except the software bundle shouldnt even come with a CD because it requires you to register your product immediately upon installing.

Other Thoughts: If your system is well cooled like mine you can actually turn the Fan speed down and make it silent. The case i have is made by NZXT its the Black flip-door front HUSH case. I have 3 case fans 2 in my power supply a 120mm Processor Fan and the graphics card fan. The case has rubber gaskets for the case fans and a padded motherboard support, and all sides are padded which makes its silent.

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate to previous review

Pros: Fast. Comes with a fan/heatsink that vents out of the back of your case.
I haven't had a black screen (defective over current protection) yet! I haven't had to underclock my video cards or PCIe bus speed to keep my computer stable!

Cons: It's big. But it's only slightly longer than my previous video cards (2 9600 GT's in SLI).

Other Thoughts: This is an update to my previous review.
Apparently either the secondary video card was slightly loose or the power connector for it was slightly loose. Either way, I got them both working in SLI mode without blue all over the screen. Yay!
