5 out of 5 eggsBen

Pros: Inexpensive
Nvidia's awesome and painless drivers
Quiet
Low temp

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Great little card. In a relatively hot Optiplex 755 this guy tops out around 62C under load.

Drivers are easy peasy compared to the inoperable Radeon 6450 I had tried to use. Tiny bit more expensive than AMD but don't have to waste hours troubleshooting why the drivers aren't installing.

Have two of these running (one a GT 430, one a 610, both the same).

5 out of 5 eggsGreat deal for Media Center PC Video Card

Pros: Nice little card with the power to play you're HD Video & Audio over HDMI to the Big Screen TV

Comes with the accessories if you want to put it into a small/slim case

Cons: Fan is a little louder than I would like - but; there is not much you can do when building such a small form factor and maintaining such a price point - overall price/performance/formfactor/noise ratio is very very good

Other Thoughts: ECS is the same Company as MSI

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Medium Level Card

Pros: Best bang for your buck! Plus you get a nice rebate on top of all that. I can play Games like DC Universe Online with no issues. I think though if you want to play more graphics intense games, you may need to turn settings in game down a little. However that said it has 96 Cuda Cores.

Cons: Occasionally has a hard time with too many things graphically going on at once.

Other Thoughts: If you need a decent boost in your system and don't have that much money this is perfect.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat deal, highly recommended

Pros: great card for the price - comes with extra brackets if you just want vga or hdmi and dvi showing on your htpc - these cards are made for watching videos with mild game use so dont expect a powerhouse but they do overclock easily

Cons: really small heatsink means this card runs hotter than you think it will (around high 40c during netflix) with a annoying fan (still can overclock with it though)

Other Thoughts: smallish area for attaching a different heatsink to it means you can buy some basic heatsink or use an old cpu one, drill and tap the holes correctly (or get someone who knows how to) - i used an old am2 stock cooler with cheap thermal compund on it and that dropped temps to around 38c during heavy use. made a bracket to attach a heatpipe setup to it with some gelid tcto see if i can get it closer to the 20s. then ill benchmark it and upload the video for that.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks!

Pros: Replaced my 9800 GTX due to the power consumption and the 430 uses 1/3 of the power that the GTX uses, CUDA cores made no difference for my purposes (Video Editing).

Forgot to uninstall the old drivers from the GTX and install the 430, started the computer and suddenly my system became very slow and should I mention the resolution changed but change it back to the default setting of 1980x1200, I was going to hit the rest button and put the GTX back and uninstall the drivers but didn't, 5 mins. later, the system advice me of a new card installed and reboot, did that and back to normal.

The video playback on my LED (240Hz 3D) TV is great, nothing lags or ghosting, is just normal. But after the reboot I downloaded the latest drivers from nVidia and installed them, I didn't see any difference but it was good to have the latest drivers nevertheless.

If you don't play games and want to replace a card that requires power connecting to it? This is a great replacement.

I've used the card heavily by doing lots of video encoding and the CPU (not GPU) gets to 100% usage, the card (the GPU) gets pretty hot but that's normal, compared to the GTX this one runs cool. So far it has had close to 50 hours of heavy use and still works great. I'm confident in ECS products, as this one is not my first ECS.

Cons: The fan, it could be a tiny little bit noisy but once you're sitting far and away from the system you won't hear it. Besides, the fans that came with my case are a bit loud too, so it blends with the case fans.
Not really a CON but some people may look at this and say that it is but in the end you can get a passive cooling card, fans (specially anything less than 120mm and 1000rpm) can be from noisy to too loud, depending the use for it.

Other Thoughts: I've always bought products from ECS, they've worked right out of the boss with no issues and this one is not an exception, although it was a big puzzling why my system got slow but that's because the old drivers from the GTX were re-rewriting or re-adjusting from the GTX to the 430 and in the end, it worked just fine, just a little patience.

1 out of 5 eggsCrashes2

Pros: None

Cons: No bsods now but anomalies continue on screen. Drivers in box don't work and I downloaded the latest from Nvidia. When I run them they say they can't find a compatible card.

Other Thoughts: What a waste. I've used 430 GT's before without any problems.

Pros: None if it doesn't work.

Cons: Put in system and immediately had problems. Anomalies on screen, would not load drivers, and then got bsod. when I removed card everything went back to normal.

Other Thoughts: I'm going to try it on the test bed tomorrow.

2 out of 5 eggsECS geforce 430

Pros: cheap, hdmi out, 430 fermi isnt to bad a card for the price and will handle most non-major gaming tasks.

Cons: fan instantly sounded like it was dying

Other Thoughts: Purchased this to replace dying 8600GTS, windows experience score actually went DOWN with this card (though that is not always a good indicator of real life performance.) Greatest disappointment is the fan. It is giving an intermittent buzz that is very noticeable. Don't know if it's worth RMA'ing it. ECS support website was far from helpful. Most reviews for this company are good, and it is said that their customer support isn't too bad either. I guess I just got un-lucky!
Card performance is fine, some games actually run smoother.
Installing drivers messed up default audio, needed to be reset.

Manufacturer Response:

We are sorry to hear about the issues you are experiencing with your fan. If you haven't already, please contact us so we can work with you to find a solution.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I'm not a gamer so I don't need a high end card. For what I need this card works fine. One video conversion program that used to be painfully slow works about 10 times faster with this card.

Cons: I bought 2 and one was DOA. The replacement was OK. With my old motherboards I was occasionally getting complete lockups and Windows said it was a video card problem. Updating to the latest driver did not help. I have had no problems with my new motherboards. The old boards were about 4 years old so it is no surprise if there may have been a compatibility problem.

Other Thoughts: I have used Nvidia video cards for many years and would not buy anything else. I won't hold one DOA against them.

Manufacturer Response:
