4 out of 5 eggsUpdate on my 7950 Bad Reviews

Pros: First I am a desktop specialist.
2nd, I wrote 2 bad reviews on 2 out of 3 cards I received.
Overall the cards are good once you know how to use them. These cards are ok for gaming but they do get HOT.

Cons: Like I said runs a little hot.
I can bitcoin mine at 540mh/s, but I have to downclock the cards memory to 100-300mhz/s
The reason why is the memory is what heats up the card and gpu significantly. Powercolor and AMD put a very poor cooler on this card

Other Thoughts: I take back my 1 and 2 star reviews of this card as I was too harsh. All in all it should get a 3.5 - 4 star review.
Other cards in crossfire will outperform this card in cooler temperatures and performance, however at $260 / card this is a good deal. I had to learn the hard way that to make this card run cooler you have to downvolt and underclock memory significantly. Now my temps are 78-86C in crossfire at full 100% load 24/7/30days month. Fans are loud too..oh well.

2 out of 5 eggssubpar cards

Pros: Cheap, Got them with a 10% off promo code. Fast when they work.

Cons: Bought 3 of these cards for gaming and bitcoin mining, thinking I'm gonna go all out on a killer new rig. Big mistake. These things sound like jet planes, even when not under load. I had plenty of juice for them to run. One of them, the fan failed, and it got up to 95 C, because the fan did not want to go over 2900 rpm. Normally the fan screams at about 3900 rpms. Got an RMA on that one going. This weekend, another one developed odd streaks and pixelation on the screen. I'm going to switch it out to another computer to see if it does that in that one...and if it does, I'm gonna send that one back too. The 3rd one seems to be working fine. 2 out of 3 bad is not what I would call good.

Other Thoughts: 2 out of 3 going bad is not what I call a quality product. That's just the bottom line.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheapest 7950 you will find around when on sale, rivals 7870 prices.
Unlocked voltage
Dual Bios Switch
Overclocked to 1075/1500 1.163v on stock heatsink/fan
Upgraded to Accelero, now at 1230/1664 1.3v (1.252 after vdroop)
Max GPU Temp: 55c (21c Ambient temp)
Max VRM Temp: 69c

Cons: Elpida RAM (wont overclock very high)
No heatsinks on VRM or RAM
Fan is VERY loud at past 70% (like hair dryer loud)
Heatsink is extremely small
Boost BIOS throttles card unless you tweak reg settings
Low ASIC (You will find them in the low to mid 60's)

Other Thoughts: Its a decent card for the price you pay, even with a slight overclock you will be running close to 7970 speeds. I would recommend slapping an Accelero on this if you plan on a decent overclock, or get a different card with a better cooler.

4 out of 5 eggs7950

Pros: cheap, performs fast, all my games run really smooth at high settings.

Cons: It does run a little hotter than other similar cards, could use better cooling system.

Other Thoughts: I'm not a hard core gamer, I don't plan to do any overclocking, so it should be all good.

5 out of 5 eggsMmm

Pros: Free Games
BioShock on ultra
Crysis 3 ultra
SimCity ultra
Tropic 4 ultra
BF3 ultra
Very nice design. Heat depends on if you have enough open space for air to escape. Also a full AMD system works in unison to blow out and nvidia card

Cons: Almost didn't fit my case. had to move some wires but no biggie

Other Thoughts: AMD Fx 4100 3.6ghz
Asus m-atx mono
3TB Hitachi hard drives
8gb Corsair Veangence
600 Watt power cooler PSU
AMD Radeon HD 7950 3gb

1 out of 5 eggsInadequate cooling!

Pros: 3GB RAM, lots of stream processors, very fast.

Cons: The cooler on the card simply is not adequate. I bought 3 of these to put in a 3-way Crossfire configuration--WHICH THEY'RE INTENDED FOR :-) and they overheat as soon as a little work is required of them. Spend a few extra $ and get a card from another brand that has an adequate heatsink on it.

5 out of 5 eggsBest cards for the money!

Pros: -Dual bios switch- great for bios swapping.
-Says it has boost but when I use afterburner it just runs 925core all the time.
-I've taken mine up to 1130core and 1650mem and hit 88.2avg fps and a score of 3689 on Unigine Valley extreme HD preset. anymore and this single fan card screams for water.
-Unlocked voltage obviously^^
-It actually pushes my 3570k into a bottle neck at higher fps and it's clocked at 4.5ghz, only really noticeable in Valley.
-I paid $539.98 for both cards in the two card bundle with a 10% off promo, not to mention the 8free games it came with.

Cons: -Can't find any?

Other Thoughts: The guy below was complaining about connectors, I use mono price for all of my connector needs and the adapter he needs goes for like $7 plus shipping so like $10? I'd prefer a lower price than overpriced cables.

Some of my system specs:
i5-3570k @4.5ghz custom water cooled
8gb low pro Samsung ram @1866mhz
Samsung 830 256gb ssd
Toshiba 2tb HDD

I went from 2 gtx480s to a pair of 7870Mysts to these 7950s. The Mysts overclocked ran about as fast as these do stock with ulps and power play disabled.
If you have issues overclocking these reinstall CCC and don't enable it's overclocking feature, instead use MSI Afterburner beta9 it's a way better program.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card... where's the stuff?

Pros: performs exactly how I hoped it would. Great muscle for the buck! 3 gigs, 384 bit, 925 mhz core with boost.... glad I bought it.

Cons: where the heck is the bundled adapters?! ok, so this card is eyefinity capable.. hell, it even has a pic on the box. So where are all the adapters to make it possible? I mean if you aren't going to supply the adapters at least give us three similar display port options. And for the love of pete, no one gives a hoot about a dvi to vga adapter its a 3 gig 7000 series card. I watched several unboxing videos that showed several adapters but mine came with one mini display port to normal display port adapter.... ship the 300.00 card with the 5 dollars worth of adapters POWERCOLOR.

Other Thoughts: now that thats off my chest .. I honestly am just put out that I can't play my games tonight in eyefinity because I have to sort out the cable configuration... It really is a great card and I will be buying my second one in a week or two to set them up in crossfire.

4 out of 5 eggsFantastic, some troubles with setup

Pros: I purchased two of these cards for a GPU computing rig. These cards were on sale when I bought them for around 260 a piece, so it was a no-brainer. These cards, in addition to the GPU computing, will run every game I can throw at them on the highest settings possible.

Cons: Difficulty during setup- These cards require ULPS manually disabled if crossfired, and will Bsod if you do not do that. Took me a while to figure it out, but now that I have, they run fantastically.

1 out of 5 eggsCard runs 83-95+degrees Celcius at 100% normal clock speed 925mhz gpu

Pros: I bought 3 of these radeon 7950 cards and they run extremely hot. when it comes to bitcoin mining the powercolor 7870 mines 510mh@74C and these mine bitcoins at 400-460mh/s at 83-91C. I had to literally get a HUGE fan and stick it on all of the cards because they have poor ventilation at max load. my 7870 myst I was able to OC to 1210mhz gpu and mine bitcoins at full load. these stay at 925mhz stock gpu. I honestly do not understand why powercolor would sell this junk more than their myst edition. Very dissapointed, will go with saphire next purchase.

Cons: runs 81-95+ C, 100% load, does not overclock half as well as 7870 myst edition. does not perform like my powercolor 7870 myst edition. benchmarks and temps are horrible compared to other OEM 7950 makers.

Other Thoughts: If you mine bitcoins or are a hardcore gamer i do not recommend buying this card. its not stabile enough and it also reboots my computer when it gets too hot.
