5 out of 5 eggsneed big PSU

Pros: gtx295: best card on the market, worth the price. Evga are the best cards.

Cons: It is huge, be sure to look at you mobo that the card wont interfear with any connectors (such as sata ect) before you get this card.

Other Thoughts: Yea I was hoping my 700watt T.T. psu would handle this beast and well it lets me boot, but cant play games on high rez w/o the psu shutting down my rig in mid games. Recomond at least a 850+ psu.

current rig:
Asus M4A79XTD EVO Mobo
8gigs of OCZ ram
1 GeForce GTX 295 (evga)
3 sata hard drives
2 cd rom drives
3 case fans

fyi upgrading to a 1000watt psu for this rig

Pros: I am so overwelmed by the graphics.I have 2 of these cards crossfired and they are simply amazing. No issues at all with windows 7 running them.

Cons: None at all

Pros: Great card, runs high on almost everything except GTA4 (seems like it needs more vram, but still 1920 X 1080 is nice) very good card overall

Cons: Since its not dual PCB I cannot overclock the card anymore. Some people with earlier versions of this card are able to overclock the core to the 800 range while I can only get to around 700ish. BTW on the overclock my max temperature is 69 cel. You don't need a waterblock for this.

Other Thoughts: Personally after learning more about overclocking I kinda wish I went for just the regular version of this card but overall I'm still happy with my purchase

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME GPU!

Pros: Amazing, very nice video card and the price is decent.
There's nothing I can't run with this GPU.

Cons: DX11 Cards will be out soon. If you can, hold off til they're released.

Other Thoughts: Overall a great card. Again, EVGA is AMAZING! Very good support and an ACTIVE overclocking/support community. When you purchase EVGA, you don't just get a piece of hardware. You get GREAT support as well. Get EVGA.

1 out of 5 eggsNo Linux

Pros: Monster of a card if you use Windows.

Cons: This card will currently only use 1 gpu in Linux. If you run Linux do not buy this card at this time. None of the standard multigpu=on or sli=auto will make the card use both gpu's. No Linux support from EVGA.

Other Thoughts: Pay $500 for a video card it should work in all current operating systems.

4 out of 5 eggsDisappointed-NOT ANYMORE!

Pros: I wrote a previous post in which I am disappointed but I am not anymore. Thank you NEWEGG for performing such a quick RMA. The card works beautifully if you do a work around with the drivers. Thank you Jacob of EVGA for the guiding light!
Now for those who are thinking of buying this card... Pros are as follows:
--Card is very silent-fan default settiing is 40% If you plan to tax your card boost up the fan to 60%. You still can barely hear it. Use the Eleet Precision program in the DVD that came packaged with the video card.
After taking care of a bad driver issue-the card workds beautifully in the games I play. AoC at high setting in raids 50fps and I mean high settings--everything maxed out not the raid/pvp setting.
Crysis-48fps
WoW-- well it hits 70 fps in Dalaran with a full group casting right smack in the middle ot bunch of peeps I have hit literally 160fps in other areas
****THANK YOU JACOB @EVGA.COM****

Cons: --Long in length 10.5 inches. It is also somewhat tall so if you are using a coned cooling fan on your side door remove the cone and use a 25mm think fan it will just clear the top of the card.

--If you are using a cooler on your south bridge--remove it the back end of the card sits low
--It is also fairly think you can place another GPU next to it but be careful in the installation because it is a tight fit
--For those with video artifacting and video lag do the following (I had a bad driver issue almost rma'ed the card)
1. Uninstall the current drivers
2. Run drive sweeper in safe mode from Guru3d.com and clean out any dlls
3. Boot back up to normal Windows and install the packaged drivers.
4. Download the current drivers and then install them normally without using drivesweeper.
This solved my issue where I was getting major video tearing and video lag in both Dx9 and Dx10.

Other Thoughts: My rig
EVGA Sli MBD
920 i7 OC to 3.8 stable now for 6months
295 CO-OP
6 G of Corsair Dominator
V1 Cooler

5 out of 5 eggsThis is the performance I wanted!!!

Pros: I upgraded this card because I got 2 faulty 4890's which I will RMA asap! my 3dmark on those was about 12.5k for a CROSSFIRE. I upgraded this and WHOA, this is my new 3dmark score!

Total - P23261
Graphics - 20132
CPU - 43588

I cant tell you how much FPS this gained me in all of my games. Not only that, it runs cooler than my 4890 Crossfire! it does however get hot, I have seen it upward to 80 degrees celsius (it is pretty hot in my room right now, that could play a big role.

Also the fan in this thing is so Quiet, I cannot even hear it at 100%!

Cons: Pretty big, make sure you have room in your case, its about the size of almost 2 full cards, and is 10.5" long, but its 2 gpu's so you cant really expect anything

Other Thoughts: I really am not a picky person, I usually go for the better price to performance ratio, thats why I originally went with the ATI 4890's, however I just had a bad experience with them and decided Nvidia has always worked great for me, so I gave EVGA a chance. This card is expensive yes, but you wont need to upgrade for a long time with this card.

1 out of 5 eggsDefective Cards if you got 2 x 6 pin

Pros: I did some research on these cards in crossfire or a GTX 295 (my motherboard does not support SLI, so I was looking into ATI). Everything I read said the 4890 CF beats the GTX 295, I was happy to save $100 so I ordered 2 of these for Crossfire. I got them and was immediately very happy that they fit nicely in my case and crossfire worked! I started with one card and was puzzled that I did not gain ANY performance over my GTX 260...I thought this was odd and I 3dmark'd it, my GPU score was about 7000, average 4890 score is 10000-11000... OK, I CF'd them thinking maybe that would help. Performance boost was great in Crossfire, only problem? Sometimes they would heat up as much as 90 degrees Cels! That is HOT! (this could partially be due to the spacing between them in my case, not XFX's fault). Now I 3dmark'd the CF'd ones. Here is what I got

Total - P13471
Graphics: 12550 <----- ?!?!?!?!
CPU - 17273

Cons: I thought maybe I was the only one with this performance hit, but from what I am reading lately the 2x6 pin models all seem to have the effect of a 25% performance hit...normally I love XFX but this is not good at all...I just got a EVGA Gtx 295 to replace it, now THIS is the performance boost I expected for my money (Yes I know Nvidia takes the cake in 3dmark, but this is just no excuse).

Total - P23261
Graphics - 20132
CPU - 43588

That is almost a 10000 mark difference, seriously if you got a 2x6 pin model, return it asap because they are defective as others are saying, I am going to give mine back asap and stick with my gtx 295.

Other Thoughts: On 3dmark, I used the same settings, exact same rig

Core i7 920 stock
6 GB DDR3 Ram
500 GB 7200 RPG SATA
650W antec earthwatts power source (dont even say this is why because 2x 4890's are rated at 600 watts)
EVGA Gtx 295(used to be 4890 X'fired).

I usually LOVE XFX but this is un-called for, these cards are performing WAY below what they are supposed too, if you read farther down you will see somone who compared the 6 pin AND 8 pin connector vs the 2x 6 pin and you will see he got the SAME results as me.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi,

There are no GTX 295's that use 2x 6pin connectors, the cards use 1x 6pin and 1x 8pin.

Thanks,
Jacob
