5 out of 5 eggs2x with SLI Fly !

Pros: Simply the fastest card (set) today, if you want 3D and superior drivers.
ATI can shove more bits through, but I have changed to 2 of the EVGA 295s for 3D and consistently huge performance. Better drivers and frequent updates compared to ATI.
You get what you pay for! No whining about price!
If you think performance might matter to you, then you have to get this card.
Yes, it's hot. Oddly enough, two are twice as hot. I use the DD waterblocks and have a 24/7 overclock of 750Mhz and 1150Mhz.
You should really consider moving to watercooling if you aren't there yet.

Cons: Only 1: Hard to find. I keep Newegg.com up and hit F5 every 20 minutes waiting for 1, then another.
It *is* worth the wait for EVGA products.
Also, do not accept a 2 PCB version, the first gen; of any make.

EVGA has the best warranty and support. I have not found anyone else who will honor the warranty if you put a waterblock on it, EVGA does!
Then you have the 90 step-up program....so maybe consider waiting until Fermi is imminent.

Other Thoughts: EVGA P55 F T W 200
i7-860 @ 4.2 Ghz
2x 295s @ 750/1150Mhz.
SSD RAID0
Windows 7 64.

Consider getting the Zalman power meter. It is very handy to see the wattage you are pumping with various tests.

3 out of 5 eggsGTX F T W edition

Pros: Bought the GTX F T W edition. Seem to be a great card, when it doesn't bsod. Single card plays lot of games on high or highest settings.

Cons: Has a problem with black screen lockups on a few games. Card has either been pulled or is out of stock. Its heavy and long, but most new high end cards are. Would love to get it running without locking up on games, perhaps the next set of drivers will help, I may need to find another card to use.

5 out of 5 eggsI like it, I love it, I want some more of it!!

Pros: Fast as all can get out!! This thing is a powerhouse. At least for now it is. 90 day step-up, free COD5, HDMI, 2 GPU's! What can I say. It plays anything you throw at it and then some.

Cons: Need to buy detergent when it does your laundry!!

Other Thoughts: EVGA X58 Classified Motherboard, Intel Core i7 920 processor, 1000W Mach-1 Kingwin PS, Zalman CNPS10x Extreme CPU Cooler, 6gb Corsair 1600mhz DDR3 memory, EVGA GTX 295 CO-OP Edition Graphics, XFX 9800GT Physx GPU, WD Cavair Black 640gb & 750gb hard drives, and this all fits into the Cooler Master CM-690.

4 out of 5 eggsGood but not great

Pros: Allows an SLI version for those with mbs that have only one PCI-E slot.
Very easy to overclock to 675 MHz GPU with Precision.
Runs pretty cool if you manually ramp fan speed. Not that noisey.

Cons: Minor improvement over GTX 285, and must be overclocked to see it. All those saying this card will run anything at max are full of it. Crysis still only runs at low 40s to mid 30s FPS. Crysis Warhead not that much faster. Nowhere near the 40% increase in FR predicted by some reviews over the GTX 285.
Also high cost compared to a 285. No way this will compare to 2x285 in SLI.
This card does exhaust hot air into your case. No way it cannot, just look at the heatsinks and how the fan is designed. So if you have a case with fans blowing air from front to back, this card will recycle hot air from the back of the card to its fan. You will need enough airfow to overcome the heat load input by this card. If you run your 295 fan at 70+%, then the temps will average out, but this card will raise the average air temps in the case.
My SuperMicro server case has directed airflow over the dual Xeon heatsinks in an enclosed channel, so they are not affected by the video card.

Other Thoughts: I bought this as an upgrade to a single 285 because I have only one PCIe slot on my SuperMicro MB. Was not impressed by FRs over what I was getting with the 285. That being said, FRs in the last missions in both Crysis (on the carrier) and Warhead (at the airport) although not higher, were smoother and less jerky. This provided smoother gameplay and what appears to be less lag, especially when you move quickly from place to place. Running at the stock GPU rate of 575 MHz I don't think this card surpasses the 285. You need to be OC'd to see an improvment. Good news is you can get to 675 MHz easily, whereas my 285 was unstable at small increases above the stock 648 MHz. In games like COD4, the 285 got 70+ FPS, so no need for the 295. I am getting 80-90 FPS with the 295, but see no real improvement in actual gameplay.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice Card

Pros: This Card is able to run just about anything and not have to hassle with the SLI/Crossfire B.S. Cooling is not an issue, just make sure you get the right case for this. People complaining about cooling must be stuffing this in a micro case with no air.

Cons: Little Pricey, but if you add the Cost of the 2GPU package and the lack of a headache from tuning SLI its way more than worth it.

Other Thoughts: I play Everquest 2, and run the Game at max setting with shadows going to GPU and run in raids with everything up at 30-40 FPS. I average 120+ FPS in just about everything else on the Game. Buy this card to install and forget about ever worying about it. Running Asus P6T Deluve v2. Intel 975 OC to 42 on Air, Mushkin Redline 6 Gb/CAS 6 Lat @1600. 850 PSU Corsair, OCZ Summit SSD, and not one issue. Everything Syncs!!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Cards

Pros: Well these cards are defiantly what you want if you love games, and of course you can just have one! lol These will run any of the new games with no problem with the setting on high. I cannot tell you about the fans because use water cooling. Also the company says they will also stick by their warranty even if you take apart the cards like I did for water cooling. Very easy to take apart as well. Also the best part is that if nvidia comes out with a better card in 90 days, Evga will send you that newer card for free. It is called a 90 day step-up so it saves you money.

Cons: Believe it or not, the first two cards I got were bad... yes both of them. I guess it happens. But Newegg sent me new ones and they work great.

Other Thoughts: What I am running:
Core i7 Extreme Edition 3.2GHZ
12GB Crosshair Dominator Ram 2000Mhz
2 Evga GTX 295's
Evga E760 Classified motherboard
Patriot Torqx 128GB SSD
Koolance Water cooling system

5 out of 5 eggsHow to fail

Pros: To access your free game downloads you have to go to EVGA.com and register your card, from there you can download your games. It goes right to your Steam Account. Which is amazing because then even if you get a new computer or do a clean install of a new operating system when you log back into your steam account the games you downloaded from the evga site will automatically reinstall on your new setup. EVGA does a good job taking care of their customers, with the Step-up program and Easy RMA's (I would still go through newegg if you can, because they are champion) and with usually 3 or 4 free games with every card you buy. I got Cryostasis and Batman with mine.

Cons: Price

Other Thoughts: I'm pretty sure you can disable SLI on these through Nvidia PhysX properties, a program for changing settings with your GPU's that comes on the cd or downloads with the drivers from the site.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice card

Pros: This is a very nice card. installation was long only because you have to uninstall your old nvidia drivers and install the new drivers. I would highly recommend that that you don’t install the drivers from the CD. Install them from Nvidia's site.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: The add said it comes with Free Call of Duty: World at War w/ purchase. Mine didn’t.

3 out of 5 eggsNot as great as others honestly.

Pros: The pro's are that this is a very powerful gpu card. It is essentially 2 graphics cards in one and is also considered the first "true SLI" multi gpu card. I want to say that for many games this card is a beast. But if your a WoW player then look at the cons and other thoughts.

Cons: OK this is why I dislike this card and how it got me to learned so much about it after owning it. This card causes issues in World of Warcraft, it is definitely a card to stay away if you play this game. Since wow doesn't support multi gpu cards and SLI actually causes errors for wow and lower preformance. You would be wasting your time buying this card for WoW.
The other major downside is that I learned that for this particular card, no matter what manufacturer makes it, about 1 in every 9 of these cards manufactured comes out of the manufacturer damaged, dead, defective, buggy, or anything that would make it a nightmare to use.
This card came to me defective and it actually looked like it had been repackaged, stickers looked odd. It almost immediately caused me to get blue screens and many other errors running any 3D application, not just WoW. I tryed: reformating and putting the card in my brothers computer, and it was still causing errors. More in other thought

Other Thoughts: I correctly uninstalled and installed drivers, so I know it was not a driver issue. I also put my old GFX card into my new comp (8800gts) and it worked fine.

What I ended up doing is returning this card to newegg for a refund. I will purchase a new card from newegg, looking at the new Radeon HD 5870 and the nVid 285 gtx. Downside is that there are no evga 285's off newegg so I may go with the sapphire radeon 5870 since it's fairly new (2 weeks old) and very popular.

I havn't used an ATI card in over 5 years. I am an Nvidia fan all the way, but I'm gonna be fair and give ATI another look over and see how they preform.

If you are in the market for a awesome card, the 295 gtx may be just right for you. If you play WoW, go with either a 285gtx or the ati5870. Or any single GPU card.

Watch for future releases too! Nvidia will be releasing awesome cards by next year I heard.

PS. WoW needs to start supporting multi GPUs haha.

How you found this useful,
Mike
