5 out of 5 eggsBuy two. Twice as nice.

Pros: Uses only a single PCIE slot, and is SLI capable.

Cons: Can only do dual SLI, not triple. Bummer.

Other Thoughts: I got two of these to run in SLI mode, which they do well. They replaced the EVGA 8800 GT cards which ran fine, but were real power hogs. Also they ran very hot, and if the case did not have exceptional ariflow they would sometimes cause a reboot upon heavy load. The 9800 series is much much better. I've had pretty good luck with EVGA, but ATI is good too. I use ATI in my AMD machines and EVGA in my Intel machines for SLI and Crossfire respectivly.

3 out of 5 eggsHot card is hot

Pros: Runs most of the games I throw at it.

Cons: When I got this card it was some what hard to install because of a bent slot. Also this card runs REALLY HOT just to let you all know.

Other Thoughts: No other thoughts.

3 out of 5 eggsEvga's mistake

Pros: Great card, FPS is amazingly high and temp is ok runs from 60(idle)-75(high when running games).
Runs crysis on mid high 30-40fps(windows xp) at 1280 x 1024
Warrenty is really good even if you broke the card by OCing, they will still take it.
Not bad for what you pay for.

Cons: Had it RMA 3 TIMES! within 6 months.
First time my card artifact after a month of running it.
The second time my card again artifact( it also looked refurbished not new), its not my psu cause thats a antech 600w.
Third time i got a new one and the fan was broken it would not stop at high speed and then it would just not work at all causing my card to get really hot.
Finally my 4th card came in new and i'm hoping it survives another 2 years before i replace it.

Other Thoughts: Evga's RMA is aweful because they'll give you refurbished cards rather then new ones and having to pay 10 bucks each time to send it (a total of 30 bucks wasted), they should really refund you the money.

Just becareful on what video card you buy, read as much reviews as possible or you'll end up like me RMAing it 3 times.

4 out of 5 eggsIncluded Items

Pros: Nice video card. Works great with my setup, and was easy to install.
Major improvement over my last card. I would definitely buy a second one!

Cons: Did not include what NewEgg says it will. Per spec page:
Packaging
Package Contents 01G-P3-N981-TR
Driver Disk
User's Manual
HDTV Cable
S-Video Cable
Power Cable
DVI to VGA/D-sub Adapter

However, this did not come with everything mentioned.
There are no HDTV or S-video cables included.
Kinda dissapointed to be looking for certain cables to notice that it does not come with them. (the box from EVGA does not mention those cables being included)
Would be nice for NE to update this. Pictures as well.

Other Thoughts: As said by others, this is a large card. If you have all your bay drives filled then you may have some cramped spaces.
Put this into an Antec two hundred case, and have issues if I have a HDD in the top slot. Just moved the HDD down, would still fit though if you had to have it there.

5 out of 5 eggsAMAZING VIDEO CARD

Pros: This card is great! It has been able to handle everything I have thrown at it. I am running 2 of them SLI'ed and it works flawlessly. This card works as good as a card twice its price. It also is single slot which made it great for my build because I needed as many open slots as possible.

Cons: There is 1 con that I have noticed in the card...but it is fixable if you want this setup and have $12 more to spend. If you want to use this card with your HDTV as a Bluray player (for which you need HDMI) you NEED to buy the DVI to HDMI adapter from EVGA. If you buy just any DVI to HDMI adapter these video cards try to force audio through the DVI into the HDMI and will mess up the audio on your TV. Buy when you buy the adapter from EVGA it comes with a SP/DIF cable (that I was only able to find through there and I looked EVERYWHERE) that you plug into your MOBO or sound card and then into the video card. Now when it forces audio through the DVI to HDMI there is actually audio. I for one (like many others) thought that DVI can't carry audio, but EVGA developed this card so that it could. It also takes a little tweaking on the audio and video settings on your computer to get it to work, and the people at EVGA were awesome and helped me through those steps.

Other Thoughts: When I purchased this card on 4/18 Newegg had it listed that there was a $10 mail in rebate (and another on 4/11)...but the rebate didn't start until 5/1 which I didn't notice (and I thought that it wouldn't show on their page if it wasn't within the valid date range). When I got a reply from the rebate company that it was purchased in the invalid date range, I called Newegg and they sent me the $20. They really didn't HAVE to do that, but they did and that is awesome! Newegg has always had the greatest customer service, and of the two times I have had a problem in the past 7 years they were quick to fix both. It is the main reason that when I shop for electronics...I shop Newegg!

1 out of 5 eggsDOA, Newegg ripped S/N sticker off and claim I "tampered" with it

Pros: If it worked I'm sure it'd be an amazing product.

Cons: Came DOA. I carefully took the video card out of the PC I built, placed everything back carefully how I found it and packaged it safely to be returned. When the RMA returned back to Newegg I got an email saying:

"Video card missing S/N (serial number), warranty void."

I never touched anything or removed anything from the video card! Now, newegg has done well by me (actually, I've received maybe 5 or 6 DOA items in my lifetime, probably purchasing 30 items from them so far), and I'm not going to suggest foul play, but the inspection team definitely messed up here. Someone must have mishandled something or what not out in California. So now they're shipping me back this newly voided video card that's just a brick. So great, I'm out $100+

Other Thoughts: I kindly sent emails and faxes for them to work with me. Newegg works on a case by case basis but the replies I've gotten from them have been stone cold.

Anyway, its been a bad experience ordering so many parts to build an i7 desktop only to RMA everything because I didn't want to go through any more RMAs to get my desktop working. Poor on newegg's part.

5 out of 5 eggsEVGA = For The Win

Pros: I bought this card expecting to be a (Meh) card. Guess what. NO!!! Its a (SUPER DUPER) card. Any game you want to play, DONE. Anything you want to do, DONE. Awesome card for its price because it just is. I play all of the Call Of Duty games and its Flawless. This card is Super Slim so it would probably fit in any case with ease. Please trust me on this, GET THE CARD.

The EVGA 9800GT is the best: BANG! 4 Your! BUCK!

Cons: It can't do a Back-Flip. :( Oh well.

Other Thoughts: Buy it. Buy it. Buy it. Buy it. Buy it. Awesome card. AWESOME!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Graphics Card for Price

Pros: This is about the 20th build i did and this guy was a gamer that had a price range of $1,000 with everything so i found this card and he is playing WOW at very high settings with no problems and really likes it. The card is big of course but had no problems with space and the design was wicked cool. All the games he has put into his computer have worked flawless.

Cons: No EVGA Sticker i like these stickers to put on the outside of the case so people see what all is in there but this is not really a con. Other then that worth the price for the gamer on a budget.

Other Thoughts: Setup of this build
Raidmax Quantum ATX-798WB Tower
AMD Athlon II x4 630 2.8Ghz QC
4gb Gskill Ripjaws DDR3 1600
Rosewill 600w PS
EVGA GeForce 9800 1GB 256bit GDDR3
