4 out of 5 eggsGood budget card

Pros: Plays DX9 games quite well. I play a lot of TF2. At 1920x1080 (no AA) and it's quite smooth even on the big 36 player servers. Fairly cool operation (56c under load), lower power consumption.

Cons: I already want to upgrade this card. Starcraft 2 runs okay at 1920x1080, but most of the details have to be dialed back. I'm not surprised by this, just an observation. I know it would struggle with other DX10/11 games.

Other Thoughts: I had not had a decent pc for gaming since 2002, so I didn't think I would get to into it like I did previously, thus the budget video card. Now that I'm reacquainted, I want a GTX 460 so I can really enjoy the higher resolutions and extra details new games have to offer.

3 out of 5 eggsBudget SLI.

Pros: “Low price” SLI setup was easy; cards are not huge so the SLI setup didn’t cramp my case.

Cons: I didn’t expect a lot out of this setup but “I was still disappointed”. Adding the second card gave me very little performance increase. I would have been better off with a single card with faster ram and a newer generation GPU.

Other Thoughts: It’s not a bad card, just kind of old as far as the specs are concerned. It would be good for very basic games or upgrading onboard graphics. However running them in SLI is a waste of time and money, just pick a better card.

4 out of 5 eggsEasy Setup

Pros: - Easy setup
- Good value
- Suitable for HP 30in LCD, Mod# LP3065

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I have installed (3) EVGA brand video cards and none has given me problems. I had to call them once for a warranty issue, I talked to a USA rep, helpful and no problems.

1 out of 5 eggsDEAD!

Pros: (This is a redo of my other review posted about 2 weeks ago because my views on this card have completely and drastically changed)

Ran fairly well until a month after use the fan started an annoying noise
Cheap (but you get what you pay for)
Uses supplemental power

Cons: month after minimal use it started making a little growling noise sometimes. It became more and more frequent and louder, until now the fan will not stop making a horrible grinding/growling noise that goes in and out every second. I looked at the temp and it's 68c. The fan is probably going to die soon if I don't already kill it because of the sound.

Other Thoughts: NEVER USING A STOCK COOLER FROM EVGA EVER AGAIN!!!

Other Thoughts: Get a warranty..or buy another card

1 out of 5 eggsGet ready for RMA

Pros: Would be a good cheap card if it worked longer than a week. It can run at very high temperatures without catching on fire!

Cons: This is my 2nd EVGA 9500GT i have picked up, the first one lasted about 5 months before it just died on me, sent for RMA and apparently it got lost in the mail, but i really think they got it and claimed to have not received it since there was no way for me to verify it reached its destination (should have gone for $20 shipping tracking i suppose).

The second card I got, after about a week, the fan started making a loud buzzing noise and was running at very low speeds causing the temperature to get to about 120C. Apparently the fan is made in china and is junk. I'm trying to send it for another RMA and since I already sent the UPC in for the $10 rebate (which only ended up being $9) I can't send it back to newegg.

Other Thoughts: So thus far i have spent about $200 on these 2 sub par EVGA Nvidia 9500GT cards and ended up using my 6 yr old ATI card. I wouldn't take one of these if you paid me, you will end up spending so much money time and effort while they are probably laughing at you running in circles and filling out paper work trying to get it replaced.

4 out of 5 eggsFan is starting to go...

Pros: About 4 months ago I built myself my own gaming machine. I was planing on getting a better card from my friend for free so I settled for this one. It turned out that my friend had severely damaged his card and that's why he was replacing it so I was stuck with the 9500gt. It's a very good card for the price, I was able to run Crysis on almost all high settings (no Overclock) at about 18-22 FPS! But most of my games are not as demanding as Crysis like:
Team Fortress 2 (30-40 fps highest settings)
Half-Life 2(40-50 fps highest settings)
Counter Strike Source(150-200 fps medium high settings wit ha good connection)

Cons: I love this card but about a month ago it started growling like a vicious dog. I wasn't sure what was making the horrible noise in my case. Later I definitively found that it was the card. I checked it's temp and it was normal. I eventually caught it in the act when it would randomly start growling, it skyrocketed to 65~70c in idle!
Unfortunately I think the fan is going to die so I'm going to upgrade to the EVGA 9600gt hopefully with better luck.

Other Thoughts: Hopefully I'll have better luck with EVGA's 9600gt.

My system:
Intel Dual Core Quad ()
4gb of ddr2 ram
Gigabyte UD3P motherboard
Rosewill 500w psu
Western Digital Caviar 1TB HDD
