Supercharge your gaming experience with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 video card. The GeForce GTX 970 GPU is powered by  next-generation NVIDIA Maxwell architecture, delivering unmatched performance with incredibly lower power consumption when compared to the previous generation. 1664 CUDA Cores and a 4GB GDDR5 memory in 256-bit width work side by side for game redefining performance. You can play today's hottest titles at max resolutions on today's highest-definition displays, all at ultra settings.

Performance is just part of the story. The Maxwell architecture is engineered with the new VXGI (Voxel Global Illumination) technology to solve some of the most complex lighting and graphics challenges in visual computing. Scenes are significantly more lifelike as light interacts more realistically in the game environment. Super Resolution technology lets you enjoy the detail and brilliance of 4K gaming, even on 1080p displays. The G-Sync technology ensures smooth, tear-free images by synchronizing the display frame rate to the GPU (requires displays that support G-Sync). An array of NVIDIA GTX technologies is also built in, like GPU Boost, NVIDIA 3D Vision, NVIDIA Surround, NVIDIA PhysX, and GeForce Experience. These technologies together provide the most immersive and competitive gaming experience possible.

This MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G LE video card features three performance modes – OC Mode, Gaming Mode, and Silent Mode – to suit your specific needs in different scenarios. This card is built with military-class components, and is factory overclocked, for more graphics performance out of the box. The exclusive Twin Frozr V thermal solution is cooler and quieter than the reference design for better gaming. The latest version of GAMING APP and Afterburner utility make it easy for you to monitor and tinker with your graphics card. The Predator utility lets your record gaming moments for easy reviewing and sharing.

  • newegg Military Class components One of the deciding factors in performance is the quality of the components used. That is why MSI only uses MIL-STD-810G certified components for its gaming cards; only these components have proven to be able to withstand the torturous circumstances of extreme gaming and overclocking.
  • newegg Twin Frozr V MSI’s Twin Frozr series has been the definition of graphics card coolers in the PC industry. Kicking off the dual-fan trend, MSI today stays true to its design, offering the best thermal and acoustic performance in its class. Two powerful 10cm-radius Torx Fans provide a massive airflow thanks to the new dispersion blade, instantly reducing noise by about 5% compared to previous generation's designs. This reduces temperatures by about 10°C at maximum fan speed compared to the Twin Frozr IV Advanced. Under those fans lies a massive heatsink with Airflow Control Technology, which covers 90% of the fans diameter. Connected to the GPU is MSI’s special SuperSU Architecture, which allows the SuperPipes and regular size heat pipes to do their work more effectively.
  • newegg GAMING app The MSI Gaming App offers you one-press activation of each mode, and one-press switching between modes. The OC Mode provides the maximum performance through higher clock speeds and increased fan performance. The Gaming Mode (Default) enables the best balance between in-game performance and thermal. The Silent Mode allows the best environment for minimal fan noise. The latest version of the MSI Gaming App is expanded with MSI Scenamax technology (under the EyeRest tab) to provide you with a number of pre-set display settings. Eye Rest Mode helps you sleep and rest better by reducing the blue light balance of your screen to let your body acclimatize to nighttime. In Gaming Mode, more intense colors and increased contrast let you live the gaming life as the creators meant it. Movie Mode dynamically adjusts the Gamma and Contrast ratios for the clearest movie viewing experience.
  • newegg Multi-Frame sampled Anti-Aliasing (MFAA) With the launch of Maxwell, the Multi-Frame Anti-Aliasing (MFAA) is introduced to the world. This new, Maxwell-exclusive anti-aliasing technique improves edge quality with a minimal performance cost, and helps you enjoy anti-aliased games at ultra high resolutions like 4K.
  • newegg Dynamic Super Resolution (DSR) Dynamic Super Resolution renders a game at a higher, more detailed resolution, and intelligently shrinks the result back down to the resolution of your monitor. This gives you 4K-quality graphics on an HD screen.
  • newegg Voxel Global Illumination (VXGI) Voxel Global Illumination (VXGI) is a stunning advancement, delivering incredibly realistic lighting, shading, and reflections to next-generation games and game engines.

5 out of 5 eggs1080p 60fps Beast

This review is from: MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING 4G

Pros: runs most games at 1080 60 fps on ultra , white dragon led looks sweet in my case , great overclock , + 160 on the core , +350 on the memory, running stable @ 1502 mhz , some games will be demanding on this card , I had to set Rise of Tomb, Division , Witcher 3 to high in 1080p in order to maintain a 60 fps with minimal drops

Cons: no probs so far

Other Thoughts: I own a 46in 1080 sony lcd and this card goes perfect with this resolution , I wanted the 980 but I can OC the 970 to match close to its stock clock, highly recommend if you have a 1080p monitor or tv and don't want to spend $500 on a 980

2 out of 5 eggsGreat card, horrible RMA service

This review is from: MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING 4G

Pros: Worked great for almost 5 months

Cons: RMA support is the worst I've ever dealt with

Other Thoughts: I had this card for almost 5 months with no issues at all. Then out of the blue I couldn't install drivers and the fans on the card would no longer spin. I called up MSI to see what the issue was and they told me I would have to send it in. So i began my RMA process through MSI.

After 3 weeks of waiting I finally received my card in the mail. I opened it to inspect it before installing and to my surprise the center of the board seemed to be burnt/rusted with what appeared to be liquid of some sorts around the same area. I've never received a replacement that looked so bad so I called up MSI with my concerns and emailed pictures to show my findings. The guy I spoke with emailed me for 3 days and finally after the techs were able to look at it came to the conclusion that there was nothing wrong. Are you kidding me?

I called to speak with another person and they told me that the residue was from the cooling unit. So they sent me a refurbished unit that looks horrible and frankly scares me to put back into my system. After a while on the phone I was told that I could put the unit into my computer and if it causes any problems then I can send it back. I'm frustrated with how MSI does not stand by their products like other manufacturers. I have learned my lesson and I will choose another company for my future purchases.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing -- One of the best decisions I made in the buy/build -- TOTALLY AWESOME

This review is from: MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING 4G

Pros: Honestly, couldn't be happier. I started out going with an AMD build, and was going to go with an AMD 8-core FX-9590 CPU and an AMD-based GPU (I can't remember which one, maybe a Sapphire R9 280/280X or 380/390X) something like that. I wound up being schooled by tons of people to go Intel and Nvidia ... what a great decision. I actually decided to go with an Nvidia 960 and at the last minute decided to push the envelope to the fullest for me and went with an 970 -- got an amazing piece and deal , the MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G ... which is simply an awesome card. I expect to utilize it happily and hardcore for years to come. I have used MSI Afterburner to Overclock it WAAAAAY ABOVE the settings you see advertised -- these cards can handle some POWER AND PERFORMANCE baby! Now, it's not the 980 or the best of the best of the best, but it's ONE of the best and the 970s are made almost identically to the 980, so unless you're just independently wealthy and can drop the coin easily or are a hardest-core gamer, you probably would be overdoing with the 970 anyway, the 980 just kills it over, and they're even crazier priced. I cannot say enough about this product -- I heard there was fan and sticker problems early on that really killed the MSI GTX 970 name and hype-- but I got mine after and am perfectly happy!!

Cons: There was an issue with the sticker that broke the fans and their operation right out of the box, and MSI didn't handle it properly.... mine is fine, wasn't affected, but many did. Also, some people just don't dig MSI, but I find it to be great.

Other Thoughts: Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great have not run into a problem yet.

This review is from: MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING 4G

Pros: -Faster than my old GTX 560
- Not to loud though I can hear it during crazy gaming.
- Stays cool I've never seen it go above 80 but my room is normally very cold so its probably possible.

Cons: -The output selection isn't really my favorite even after a year I still find it annoying more HDMI or Display ports would have been better in my opinion as the older DVI is useless to me.

Other Thoughts: I used this to replace my older GTX 560 and it worked extremely well and I've never had any problems with it that wasn't the cause of a weird driver problem. I did run into some hiccups when windows 10 came out and I switched to that because of some Nvidia driver issues but that has ceased to be an issue. I game at 1080p and the .5 GB of slower speed ram has never cause me a problem though It might if you play crazy modded skyrim.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat product! Runs cool, easy to overclock. Don't count on MSI honoring that rebate though.

This review is from: MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING 4G

Pros: Great product! Runs cool, easy to overclock. Unfortunately, lost one egg due to the rebate issue.

Cons: MSI denied my rebate as my shipping address and billing address were different. (Despite having all of the documentation correct and the forms in on time). A lot of hoops to jump through for a $20 Visa gift card anyway. I had a friend that had his denied also for missing the time frame even though he purchased and filed it on time.

Other Thoughts: Would recommend!

5 out of 5 eggscard fine rebate scam

This review is from: MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING 4G

Pros: card works

Cons: MSI requires postmark within 15 days of PURCHASE, so waiting a week for shipping and then a week to finish the build on your pc while the rest of the parts arrive means no rebate ever. I'd like to see the % claim on these. You would have to cut up the box and guarantee no return if it was a lemon to claim them.

5 out of 5 eggsFirst build with two MSI products

This review is from: MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING 4G

Pros: SIlent GPU since the fans doesn't run until temperatures reach 60 degrees Celsius. However, the fan settings can be changed using MSI afterburner in the OC process. Currently using an Asus 1080p 144Hz and is noticeable in most games besides AAA titles.

Cons: Drivers are generally a hit or miss (on Nvidia's side of things for the driver updates).

Other Thoughts: Decent pricing for a 970 but I would rather not depend on rebate for price reductions. As a piece of advice, wait for the new generation cards to come out before any recent purchases on GPUs.

5 out of 5 eggsLoved it

This review is from: MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING 4G

Pros: Loved this card while I had it. Ran cool, easy to OC. It can definitely keep up with the newer cards coming out, has nice muscle behind it. Handles GTA 5 like a champ. Not exactly at Very High settings, but Default is solid. (can't really tell a difference anyway)

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Sold it for a MSI Radeon R9 390X - though I feel the 970 performs better in some areas. Not MOST, but some. If you have the dough, and don't want to step up to the 8GB world, you really can't go wrong with a 970.
